Album leaked and just listened. Coming from a Slaughterhouse fan, I was let down. I’d give it a 3/5. There was just so much hype and anticipation with this album, and especially with Em, I can’t believe this is the best they could come up with. It’s almost as if every producer on the album made a ton of beats, picked the worst one they made, and said “Alright guys here you go”. I’m going to go back to listening to the mixtape which was fire.

And yeah theres only a couple weak tracks if you look at it indivudally and overall, but when i hear like 9 tracks on an album with a style of production that is annoying, overshadows the MCs, and does not fit the feel of the song, it just doesn’t work out as a whole. The album is a mess but it might be worth picking up just to listen to the songs individually.
First Slaughterhouse album on KOCH probably is better than this album from the sounds of the singles so far. They made that in a short duration of time too. Eminem has a good verse on this song but Run already told us it was his house! I still like Infinite better than any other Eminem album so I will go back to listening to that! This songs ok, nothing special but a cool album track. Speaking of the album just gave it a quick listen and I’d give it a 8 overall. Surprisingly nothing like the “snippet” that was released. If you a fan of lyrics you’ll definitely love this album. Production wise the majority of the tracks are average in the sense nothing really stands out like “wow, thats an ill track”, but the production on this album just provide a boom bap canvas for these guys to spit over. Now my only real complaint is almost all the tracks with features, about 5 out of 7 are attempts at commercial appeal (hence the Em, Cee Lo and Skylar features.) Now will the average new jack rap fan may enjoy these shit, there wack to me. So overall a good album and enjoyable listen but next time if these guys want to create a classic they need to step outside the typical spitter roles and craft a more conceptual album.
Agree with you, except for the commercial appeal part. At least three quarters of the album has a commercial sound beat, not only the ones with features. But it doesn’t really bother me, lyrically, they’re way on point and that’s the thing that matters the most with these guys.
I don’t think their first Shady cd was ever gunna be a classic, they had to deliver something while everyone has the name Slaughterhouse in their mouth so I think they rushed things a bit too much just to put a product out…

But wat dude said is true. It the BEATS for one. No one is going to go to the strip club and expect to see some hoes shaking their ass to EM. They’re going to be playing Big Krit’s “Money on the Floor” or some UGK shit with heavy bass. Everyone KNOWS that Slaughter House can rap. But they have yet to prove that they can build a cohesive song. They either have a wack hook, silly circus beats courtesy of Em, or subpar-cornball verses. personally I really like this, eminem sounds more like his older material, and I’m one of those people that hate Recovery and love Relapse. The beat is a little distraction but a couple listens you start to get used to it. Lyrically its dope, and as im listening to it eminems doing his slim shady voice kinda. 4/5, skylar grey is perfect on this.

Slaughterhouse can’t seem to be able to do songs with depth in them. Eminem’s verse wasn’t that great either but it was the best one out the lot. Only one coming out with credit from this is Skylar Grey.
Wasn’t enjoying the album at first due to high expectations and a completely different style of production then i expected but its actually pretty good, just not near the 9/10 album that I expected. Production doesn’t work perfectly with SH but its good enough.
That being said Throw it away, park it sideways, and throw that should not have made the album. And who thought the chorus to flip a bird was good?? I just can’t imagine that..

There are MANY rap groups who would beg to differ. Bone Thugs has put out WAY better songs than SlaughterHouse. Wu-Tang,Outkast,UGK,the LOX hell even Black Hippy is currently making better MUSIC than SH. Time-less music is more than just rhyming words. I can see where everyone is hating on the album, first listen I hated it, but after 5-6 listens it gets better as you catch all the bars, sure there are some terrible songs on this (park it sideways, walk of shame) but it is a very good album, not classic but a solid album. It’s not as lyrical and beats are more mainstream but who cares there’s guys been on the grind for years and on a major to so of course they’d have to have some appeal to mainstream. It appears that this ablum is turning into nothing but good rhyming. In my opinon(if Im still entitled to one) Slaugherhouse doesn’t make good music. Music that I will be listening to hear a year or even 6 months from now. They arent known for making good choruses, the message to most of their songs is what again? Not let it been known that when I see a Slaughterhouse song new released on Hiphopdx I’m quick to click that button to listen…but it’s not because I know I’m going to get a good song but because I know that SH is going to say some pretty clever stuff. It sounds like EM sat in the studio and had SH listen to Recovery and told them they needed their album to sound like that in order to be successful. With the exception of Hammer Dance, all of the songs i’ve heard from this album have been subpar. This was Slaughterhouse’s opportunity to build something REAL, especially off the momentum of their 1st album which was quality music start to finish.

Album leaked and just listened. Coming from a Slaughterhouse fan, I was let down. I’d give it a 3/5. There was just so much hype and anticipation with this album, and especially with Em, I can’t believe this is the best they could come up with. It’s almost as if every producer on the album made a ton of beats, picked the worst one they made, and said “Alright guys here you go”. I’m going to go back to listening to the mixtape which was fire.

The album is a mess but it might be worth picking up just to listen to the songs individually.

First Slaughterhouse album on KOCH probably is better than this album from the sounds of the singles so far. They made that in a short duration of time too. Eminem has a good verse on this song but Run already told us it was his house! I still like Infinite better than any other Eminem album so I will go back to listening to that! This songs ok, nothing special but a cool album track. Speaking of the album just gave it a quick listen and I’d give it a 8 overall. Surprisingly nothing like the “snippet” that was released. If you a fan of lyrics you’ll definitely love this album. Production wise the majority of the tracks are average in the sense nothing really stands out like “wow, thats an ill track”, but the production on this album just provide a boom bap canvas for these guys to spit over. Now my only real complaint is almost all the tracks with features, about 5 out of 7 are attempts at commercial appeal (hence the Em, Cee Lo and Skylar features.) Now will the average new jack rap fan may enjoy these shit, there wack to me. So overall a good album and enjoyable listen but next time if these guys want to create a classic they need to step outside the typical spitter roles and craft a more conceptual album.
Agree with you, except for the commercial appeal part. At least three quarters of the album has a commercial sound beat, not only the ones with features. But it doesn’t really bother me, lyrically, they’re way on point and that’s the thing that matters the most with these guys.

personally I really like this, eminem sounds more like his older material, and I’m one of those people that hate Recovery and love Relapse. The beat is a little distraction but a couple listens you start to get used to it. Lyrically its dope, and as im listening to it eminems doing his slim shady voice kinda. 4/5, skylar grey is perfect on this.

Music that I will be listening to hear a year or even 6 months from now. They arent known for making good choruses, the message to most of their songs is what again? It sounds like EM sat in the studio and had SH listen to Recovery and told them they needed their album to sound like that in order to be successful. So instead of bringing something new to the table ur getting recylced Recovery slash D12 sounding crap. Instead of these fools sounding grimey they sound corny like…D12. Beats sound very weak…no bass…choruses or weak and forgetable, and the songs will be too. Slaughterhouse is one house that I’m not even interested in going into.

With the exception of Hammer Dance, all of the songs i’ve heard from this album have been subpar. This was Slaughterhouse’s opportunity to build something REAL, especially off the momentum of their 1st album which was quality music start to finish.
Very disappointed as a hip hop fan, and even more disappointed for the group. Their shot to make it big may have just vanished.

The whole concept of this song is dope. It’s also a haunting memory of earlier, classic Em tracks. Your average rapper wont find comfort in here and that’s why I’m feeling it even more.
