    1. Y’all know how bad n*ggas is waiting for some ‘Life Is Good’ singles so stop with these old tracks that are not tagged:If you’re going to post these tracks, please tag “unreleased” or “old school” to the titles:Stop misleading the readers into thinking this is new and hot material just to get listens and views:2nd time you guys have done this:

      Track is fire though:

      5/5:

      1. co sign. and stop renaming tracks to make them seem new. i know dx always on some shady shit but yall cant really be this desperate for views

    2. Jay z should of paid Nas to ghost write for J cole because j cole beats r wack but atleast we could of heard some nice bars

    3. than Hipdx plz support good music like nas we want real music not that hip pop j cole trash i thouht my ears was effected by Coles noise

    4. are you fuckin trippin hip hop dx? this clearly aint some early 90s shit, damn you fuckers are dumb. just listen to the production nothing sounded like that in the early 90s. Sounds like this was recorded more around the time early 2000 not 90’s, get it straight square bears. sick song though

      1. Nas vs. J. Cole:
        Lyricism – Nas
        Punchlines – J. Cole
        Delivery – J. Cole
        Flow – J. Cole
        Charisma – J. Cole
        Emotion – J. Cole
        Hooks – J. Cole
        Beats – J. Cole
        Yup. J. Cole >>> Nas. U MAD?

      2. jason you a dickhead..j.cole aint touching nas and he already said nas is the best.stop smokin crack and become an ambassodor to war on drugs…stupid motherfucker…

      3. Everything I just laid out is true and you know it.
        J. Cole also said that Lil Wayne is better than him.
So let me ask, is Wayne better than J. Cole?

      4. Co sign YOUAJOKE. Ok wow J Cole Blew up over the last couple of years but he is light years away from seeing legendary status… and if you ask me that Workout track is some sellout BS

      5. @jason u fagget r u in the eighth grade u dumbfuck u dnt no shit about hip hop fuck outta here if uthinkin j cole got nythin on nas your a dumbfuk nas fathered j cole

      6. I couldn’t care less about “legendary status”
That’s not what this is about.
Too Short is a legend, he’s not a better rapper than J. Cole

      7. yo jason,

Yo momma is calling you for dinner, she also said to brush your teeth, and she’ll be there to tuck you in 20 mins.

    5. J. Cole is brilliant, FRESH, & knows how to balance that mainstream sound with an underground verse.

NaS is a veteran, a legend, a man who ain’t afraid to bust a poetic lyric that goes over most people’s heads.

      BOTH are undeniably—I repeat, UNDENIABLY—talented & you’re all arguing about WHO’S BETTER?

Quit crying over nothing. In the words of Common, “There’s so many thrones, why we argue who is the king?”

      1. “Just because you don’t understand him, it don’t mean that he’s nice. It just means you don’t understand all the bullshit that he writes”

    6. too benjeem sampson The lost tapes 2 i wish it was too…. he needs to dump that cd independently the since the majors dont want too they just want to dump trash noise like Gucci man And Jay Cole

    7. “Just because you don’t understand him, it don’t mean that he’s nice. It just means you don’t understand all the bullshit that he writes”
This applies to 90% of Nas songs LOL.

      1. Ok so keep it moving. Its just like what i was saying to the Wayne haters. Why come to a song or article just to hate? U see i left my comment on the J.Cole song and left. Theres nothing more to say. U think Nas is weak or overrated. We get it now get a life herb.

This shit is str8 up fire. Sounds like some old shit but still hot. U can always depend on Nas to come through with that classic hip hop 90s sound. Love that shit but i also love some of the new shit. Nas last verses on Nasty and Cater 4 Outro were pure fire. Keep dropping fire Nas and im going to cop Life Is Good even tho most of ur “loyal” fans wont.

      2. That 90% u dont understand is cause ur probably from the burbs, jason.

Grow up in the 90s in NY like I did, and u understand just about everything he says.

Stick to your lil wayne and tpain top 40 artists and save ur self some embarassment…stop posting.

      1. There’s some anti-movement against Nas now, acting like they didn’t know, he’s a talent that’s not to be dismissed or ignored.

    8. Man if Nas and Wayne did a Watch The Throne type of album that shit would kill the game.

      Album Title: Stillcarter
Production Type: YM producers + Kanye West + Polo Da Don + Swizz + No I.D.
      Genre: hip hop
Features: Jay-Z, Kanye West, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Wiz, Lupe, and Beyonce
      Album Size: 15 songs
      Bonus Tracks: 2 songs

      Shit would be dope.

      1. I’d kill myself if a nas album featured jay-z, kanye west, nikkim or wiz.

Or even any combination of the 4.

Please keep your ideas in your sick, sick head.

      2. Did u not hear Hip hop is dead? Black Presidents featuring Jay-Z? How about Distant Relatives? My Generation featuring Wayne? Jay and Nas been ended there beef. Wish u lame ass niggas would stop living in the past. We aint on that petty beef shit no more. We about making hot music. Thats why Nas in on the Carter 4 album. Stop living in the past and enjoy the music hatin ass nigga u.

      3. What the fuck is Suggamatic talking about? Nas has worked ith Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, and Kanye West. Look it up dude.

Still Dreaming – Nas Ft. Kanye West
        Success – Jay-Z Ft. Nas
Carter IV Outtro- Lil Wayne Ft. Nas, Busta Rhymes, Shyne, and Bun-B
Black Republicans – Nas Ft. Jay-Z
Nas also follows Nicki Minaj on Twitter. Lol. I’m sure as shit if she called to work with him, he wouldn’t deny her. I mean what straight man would?

      4. @Wayneislord i hate u for saying dumb shit u dont know real hip hop wayne only has 2 subject matters pussy and money nas would do hoola hoops around that boy ,….i hat u mow

      5. Wait…you’d trip if Nas collaborated with Jay or Kanye? You realize thats been done right? And they both were dope right? And yea, Nas is on Lil Wayne’s album too, but I don’t consider it a collabo because he wasn’t directly on the track. Even then, Nas killed it.

    9. NAS OLD STUFF IS SOME WHAT BETTER THAN IS NEW STUFF BUT ALL AROUND HE IS A GREAT EMCEE NOT A RAPPER A GREAT EMCEE…Nas wordplay make you envision what he saying…hold ya tongue.

    10. Fuck L-Boogle. U a bitch ass nigga. Been following me through the website to spy on my reviews. Fuck off my dick nigga. Be ur own man faggot.

Hatershater – nigga thats ur problem. Comparing verses to other verses when niggas are on the same track together. Damn. Why does everything have to be a competition? Just enjoy the fucking music u fuckin fag. People who look at rap the same way u do hate new school rap. U hate anything that changes. Stop living in the past and enjoy the fucking music. Wayne and Nas together with the producers i just listed would be fucking epic and u know it. Fucking haters man. smh.

      1. Im 22 faggit i like wayne too hes nice with a garbge album out right now but hes still nice but he has no substance nas has something too say wayne is recycled subject matters

      2. U cant be a real Wayne fan if u think Carter 4 was garbage. Fuck outta here u bitch ass nigga. Carter 4 was the weakest of the Carters but it still was not “garbage” and again. What does comparing them head to head have to do with them making a album together? Fuck is the matter with u dog?

    13. Don’t ever disrespect the game by putting Drake and Lil wayne a head of God Son. Your already buggin by puttin sum n*gga name lil twist, tyga, rick false and wiz khalifa on your top 10 list…

    16. Nas is one of the greatest of all time. With that being said I really like this song. If this was the 90’s this would be really HOT but, unfortunately in today’s music this is not hot at all.. and all thought i like it i don’t know how i feel about it because everything said in this song is unbelievable and not realistic.. Nas is not robbin’ niggas and wearing ski masks.. Even in the 90’s he wasn’t on that shit

      1. Most rappers aren’t out robbing, selling kilos, and killin people bro, this is why they are rapping. Do you think Al Pacino really is Scarface? Do you believe Marlon Brando and Robert Deniro are really The Godfather? Its all entertainment man. Allow yourself to be entertained and quit looking too deep into the music that is clearly their for entertainment value, period.

      1. Ive been saying the same thing for a few years now. This song is not hot at all its decent but you can tell Nas reads off paper when he rhymes.

    17. this wayne is lord nigga is str8 retarded. never ever put wayne up to nas. some faggot ass hipster who abuses auto tune and has his little retarded ass one liners? or a hip hop legend who formed a new era and style of flow in the game? lil wayne fans are just punk ass kids who thinks hes god. got off waynes dick stupid ass nigga.

      2. hell yea stuck in the 90s! i rather listen to that shit than today’s soft ass electro hiphop crap. today’s radio music is made for women

      3. you got waaaaaay to much young money on there. mack maine? for real? and if neither b.i.g nor pac are on you top 25, you can’t discuss hip hop. fuckin lame as hell.

A little slip up there huh homie????

You got caught, you little fairy. Please shut the fuck up. You are painfully stupid. Cant you see everybody clowning you??? Nobody agrees with you, you fucking moron!

So please “Wayne is Lord/Jason”, put your moms dick in your mouth and shut it, please!

    26. My favorite rapper is better than your favorite rapper and none come after. Down with you if you not down with who Im down with.

    27. Who everyone prefers is, at the end of the day, a matter of opinion. So stop arguing like pillocks over something that doesn’t matter.

This doesn’t sound to me like Illmatic era. Sounds more like his mid-to-late 90’s stuff.

    28. That WayneIsLord clown is a joke for real. I mean Wayne over Nas and Eminem. What has Wayne contributed to society? Nothing. It’s like niggas like you make it cool to not speak proper English and act like you’re down with hip hop

    29. This is From the original I Am…Nastradamus
Two Disc album but due to leakage the album was scrapped

But look it up nas’ first real double album
Most of the songs made it to the lost tapes vol 1

    30. If Nas rapped this over the Premier beat that was given to mac miller, it would be an instant classic. Shame this particular beat is average, shame mac miller is average.

      1. That Premier beat was average. Just because its premier doesnt instantly make it a classic beat. Stop basing it off the name and listen to the beat..

    31. This nigga think that everybody push till they got a shit push,
lot of shit pop and got a lot of ..
.. you’ll never believe .. with me never about the next ..
telling me that he was heavenly involved to
many nigga scared and ..deserve to convert a ..
.. he fillin ..that many people
You must be sleeping at .. cause if that nigga do ..
Plus is a friend about .. we got .. why
.. party we even disgust ..them nigga they living ..
plus you don’t get enough really never meant ..laugh and threat
.. That they wouldn’t but they play the ..

    32. All this needs is a premo beat and it’s classic…definitely hope it’s lost tapes 2 if every does decide to bring that out

    33. Clearly a 1999 post nastradamus (which is underated – and shits on most rap albums that year) – Pre Firm track.

Nas was on his story telling peak at this era. I love this track.

      Lost Tapes 2 people!

    34. This song sucks, Drake is way better then this poser, Drake talks about real life stuff like money & girls, & young people having money, real talk, fuck Nas, DRIZZY 4-Life.

      1. hahahaha you def dont know what ya talkin bout kid….DRAKE??!! BETTER THEN NAZIR??!! FUCK OUTTA HERE GO TO ANY 5 BOROUGH N SAY THAT BECTHYA U GO RUNNIN N DRAKE WILL B CHASIN YA 2

      3. Fuck you little bitch! NAS is the G.O.A.T, Drake is nothing compared to Nas! You need to be smacked dawg.

    35. Yo Mr.Nasty Nas and Mr. Jigga man …sorry to break this to yall but Tupac Shakur is BACK >> Gonna Clean My safe of dirty money. 2012 Don Killuminati …Mackaveli Lives!

    40. um im dead ass serious. if you even put j cole and ALL these other radio ass trash ass hip pop entertainers(cant even call em emcees) you need to either shut the FUCK UP cuz your clearly a stan. or you just need your fuckin head examined. Nas today who is half of what he used to be is still way better then all these (entertainers) ESPECIALLY LIL WAYNE. – a complete average rapper who dumb ass stans and dumb ass bitches who only hear abc lines and the drum pattern THINK HES THE BEST EVER(lmfaoooooooo) make me fuckin sick to my stomach. and this from a white dude from the burbs. ill talk rap circles around most of you dummies who think radio music is good. SMHHHHHHHHH (dont you realize all people like you are why people say real hip hop is on life support- bc you like the radio, watch mtv, and o ya listen to the radio.) I still bump all classics good music, idc how old it is, as long as its good. I’d rather listen to good old music then new shitty A n R high way robbery.

      1. I agree with you, everything now is horrible compared to the 90’s… too commercial for me!!!! Nas is the truth, then and now…

      1. yea homie lie to me an not yourself. Thats why you peeping the track. An I bet you listened to the whole track an loved it. I know you gotta stay loyal to your man kisser.

      2. your the biggest dumfcuk ever to think elmatic even comes close to illmatic he bit off nas pretty much for the whole mixtape , first of all you shouldn’t even mention the two together in a ssentence

      3. He bit off Nas? It’s the truth. It’s way more refreshing from a musical standpoint and El surpassed Nas lyrically on there. Illmatic is great, but overrated. It’s not the holy grail nobody is able to touch, El proved it.

      4. No disrespect, Elmatic was dope. but ILLmatic was classic & pushed the bar forward in music. Elzhi is just one emcee who admires Nas’ album soo much that he remade it in his perspective. Without Illmatic, there would be no Elmatic.

      5. Just kind of ignorant, dumb thing to say. Look at the time difference, in 1994 Illmatic was SO far ahead and still lives to out stand most new stuff. I’ve listened to Elmatic and it’s good I won’t say it wasn’t, but to say its better than Illmatic? Thats actually a little funny.

      6. LOL @ that piece of shit Ode To Illmatic being better than El’s version. First Off: It was the biggest mistake possible to choose the orignial beats, you can’t improve the songs, they’ve already been done and were flawless. Fashwan has not enough skills to pull something like this off and his own lyrics were mediocre at best, despite stealing so many of Nas’ lines. Elzhi is 10 times the rapper Fashawn is and showed these fools how it’s done.

    41. This dude smooth like a XO Cognac…shame this new generation took over what the industry puts out cuz the older cats fell asleep at the wheel

    42. I fucks with this beat. Yo..all my sneaker heads out there check out my fb. I do the sickest one of a kind hand painted shoes.Check out my mobile uploads..designs starting at 50$.ANY THING U WANT I CAN DO! Get at me..site comin soon

    43. Most overrated rapper ever.

Not a single other rapper has used soooo many gimmicks and rode everyone of them till the wheels fall off. Fucking clown.

      1. Nas… Gimmiks???

C’mon son – you must be born after 1995

        If anything Nas is underrated.

I’ve heard people complain about his beats… but NEVER his lyrics.

        NAS 4 President!

      2. Nas & gimmicks – must be a Jay fan

Don’t be mad cause Jay practically forgot how to flow after Black Album… he over-emphasizes words, spits retarded ad-libs, uses hilariously corny jamaican accents, and remains constantly predictable in his subject matter… most one-dimensional MC ever when it comes to topics I swear

Nas stays perfecting his technique, progressing, mastering internal rhymes and double time flows [Victory, Outro, Like Me etc.] and constantly changing his subject matter… hasn’t made the same album twice

You want gimmicks? Remember when Jay did the Budweiser commercials with ‘Show me what you got’ while promoting Kingdom Come? WACK

      3. go kill urself.u typed all of that and could nt make a point how is nas verses on stillmatic mediocre.its either u never heard that album or u a hater.go sit down

      4. ^^ Anonymous above; EXACTLY. 50 capable of producing Stillmatic verses? Absolutely loss of any credibility whatsoever. Yeah 50 could give us the Intro, Ether, got yourself a gun, you’re da man, destroy and rebuild, second childhood, poison, what goes around etc…

And the HHID criticism is bullshit; that is a really cohesive album; where are they now, money over bullshit, carry on tradition, who killed it, let there be light, still dreaming etc. all reinforce Nas’ perspective behind the album title

At the end of the day though… Nas is more versatile than any other MC in terms of subject matter… and he takes more risks than anyone else with his content as a mainstream artist… with those risks come lame criticisms like this

oh and 1st anonymous; you aren’t fooling anyone because I have seen you post those same quotes to discredit Nas before… way to be original jackass… makes sense why you are a Jay fan [unoriginal dickrider of Nas, Jaz, BIG you name it]

      5. You guys couldn’t make ONE point in MONTHS about why Nas is the greatest after he got nothing but hate for almost a decade.
Why a loss of credibility? Tell me, what makes Stillmatic soooo great? That album has to be the most overrated ever. I would love tos see the ratings if it wasn’t named after Illmatic.
        Ether?
        Got Urself A Gun?
        Smokin’?
        Destroy & Rebuild?
        The Flyest?
        Braveheart Party?
        Rule?

LOL. That album has, like many Nas albums, 4 or 5 GREAT tracks and the rest is absolute mediocre, wanna be knowledge nonsense we’ve come to know over the years. Even Chuck D said that Nas fakes his knowledge. I could go on and pick apart almost every Nas verse you rate as great. It’s A LOT of SMOKE and NOTHING else. He uses big words and doesn’t come to the point. A lot of his praised verse say exactly nothing.

And I never hated HHID, in fact, it’s one of my favorite Nas albums and to me, it’s better than Stillmatic. I love that whole album, aside from Playa On Playa, the only song I skip everytime. That was Nas latest great offering.

    44. Whack! Enough of this incoherent, nursery rhymed shit-talking.

Nas, your lying promo-mouth got you in it.

    45. i put my top 10 against any of ya’ll top 10 and my team would win,

top 10 in no particular order
      nas
      black thought
      common

      1. All decent rappers – everyone has the right to their opinion.

But you left out these guys

        WHO CARES
        GO FUCK YOUR SHIT LIST
        WHITE PPL REALLY ANNOYING ME
FUCK YOUR LISTS ON OUR CULTURE

        &

SUCK MY BLACK BALLS KANYE WEST< ANGRY PANTHER SYTLE BITCH

      1. Agreed sounds like late 90’s era.

But if the hook annoys you I suggest yo spend a couple of years growing up in a poor area Brad. You fucking fag.

Nas is father of this sport whiteboy. Learn or be punished.

    46. what? hook is annoying? the hook is rapped the way it’s supposed to be…straight spittin’. your favorite rappers today are singing lullabyes on their hooks. it’s a damn shame.

    47. Fav Nas songs (no order)

      Purple
No Ideas Original (lost tape version)
      Shootouts

      Live Now
      Ghetto Prisoners
      Quiet Niggas
      Shoot Em Up
      Last Words
      Come Get Me

(those last four were from Nastradamus – criminally underrated album!!)

      1. cnt forget live nigga rap,mo money mo murder, ny state of mind 1 nd 2, nas is like, one mic, ur da man, book of rhymes, etc,lol

    48. You left out Project Windows, You Owe Me (great rnb pop songs I dont care what anyone says!) New World… all from that album. Some of the best hiphop ever made.

      (Youtube NEW WORLD youngins!)

      1. I’m from Poland in Europe (that’s overseas as you dumb americans say) and never heard this Nas songs.

        THANK YOU JK & Swordz

        NAS ROCK!

    49. Nas got bangers…period, Nasty Nas come back please show em how its done…Dont let em change you………

    50. Most overrated rapper. Can’t believe you guys hype this cat up. He’s only dropped 2 good albums and a good compilation. Other than that, he’s garbage. I mean c’mon, the dude failed at selling out. That’s when you know you should quit rapping. It’s 2011, this guy is irrelevant. Only basement dwelling nerds still care about this guy.

      1. LOL anonymous… 20 million sold and 8+ times platinum and Nas has failed huh… 2 good albums? Nas easily has 2 CLASSICS, and you could very well argue for 3/4… and he has another 3-4 albums that range from good to very good

Irrelevant? All these up and comers idolize Nasir and after 20+ years he still can roast your favorite rapper on his own shit… matter fact he is probably your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper

      2. Jay is the one who hasn’t done shit aside from three albums. Reasonable Doubt was never recognized as a classic, till Jay started to call it so and cried everywhere because people didn’t acknowledge it.

Illmatic (Best Hip Hop album of all time) >>> Reasonable Doubt
It Was Written >>> In My Lifetime Vol. 1
        I Am… >>> Vol. 2… Hard Knock Life
Nastradamus >>> Vol. 3… Life And Times Of S. Carter
        Stillmatic = The Blueprint
God’s Son >>> The Blueprint²: The Gift & The Curse
        Street’s Disciple > Kingdom Come
        Untitled = American Gangster
Distant Relatives >>> Watch The Throne

      3. Haha, thats pretty funny. New rap is shit compared to rappers who have been doin it for 10 years+. Go listen to some Waka Flocka Flame or so Soulja Boi if you like new rap so much, then do the world a favor and hang yourself.

      4. Sorry i like nas but hes really over rated. The dude comparing nas albums to jays is funny as fuck..sorry but theres no debate when ones insanely rich and ones strugglin to make alimony payments..especially when ones been signed by another..besides the takeover rapes ether..jay came with facts nas used wordplay and childdish insults. Nas is great jays better..only difference is that nas still so broke hes gotta still try. Only great nas album ill ever be replaying is illmatic..and its only ten songs. Ill take the blueprint the black album, when the roc took over 97, and that old ass rocafella mixtape over any other whack ass nas cd. 1 or 2 good songs each the rest is filler.

      5. Nas is my favorite rapper, but Takeover is the better song by far. If you really listen to it without bias, Jay won.

        Best diss track ever?

Nas didn’t even go that hard

Listen to Who Got Bodied? by Royce to hear how you kill someone off delivery alone.

      6. ^^^ Above; Nas is broke therefore Jay is the better MC huh? Fucking laughable… you act like you have Nas’ W2s… and someone stuck with 55K a month in child support is DEFINITELY NOT HURTING moron

Jay better than Nas? First off Jay has rode so many other MCs dicks its not even funny… Jaz, BIG, Nas, Kane I could go on. Second, the guy who said Jay complained enough to get RD considered a classic is absolutely right. Very similar to how Jay tried to use his revisionist history to act like takeover killed ether WHEN EVERYBODY KNOWS IT WAS EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE.

Jay has classics? Sure… but how much replay value do they have? This dude talks about getting cash, being the best ever, hoes, and ye slanging ON EVERY SINGLE CD HE HAS OVER AND OVER… so one dimensional… NO concept tracks at all and NO real creativity

Takeover facts and Ether childish nonsense? Stay dreaming dummies… Hov didn’t say he was better than BIG? Didn’t sample Nas’ voice and beg to get on tracks with him? Didn’t ride the Firm’s jock when he was coming up in 96? Didn’t get destroyed by Eminem? Didn’t constantly bite BIG’s lyrics? Didn’t talk about tae-bo and shadow-box in his bullshit promo ads [LOL]? And on and on…

Ether had plenty of name-calling but takeover did too… Fag model? Esco’s trash? Just garbage? LAMMMEE? Real fact-based criticisms huh

Oh and the 1 hot album every 10 years is bullshit since he completely discounted IWW which became a classic over the years

And I haven’t even mentioned the hot97 interview with Jay choking up when he got asked about Ether… or how Memph Bleek told Jay point blank that Nas took the whole ROC crew the minute he heard Ether

Or how about how Jay had to dedicate Blueprint 2/Supaugly to nas after ether and still couldn’t change the fact he got bodied… all Nas had was the ‘scarface/manolo’ line and that obliterated anything Jay could have done

Look Nas has his faults but he really has the best discography out there… GOAT if you ask me… and Jay has dropped straight weed plates since Black Album

        ONE

      7. Why is it so hard for you guys to enjoy both of them? Jay & Nas are great in their own lane.

        But

Jay wanted to be the KING of NY after BIG died and Nas was the only one standing in front of him. He waited for some sneak shit and went after Mobb Deep and Nas when they were down and we all know how that disaster ended. Jay was frustrated as fuck that Nas ignored him and didn’t want to give him his verse or appear in his video. Jay IDOLIZED Nas, he modelled everything after him, his whole style. Jay was a confident battle rapper before Nas answered, he got dissed by many other rappers and didn’t even respond. He shrug it off like nothing, but after Ether hit him, he was never the same again, dude avoids every single verbal confrontation with other rappers, he was a wreck after he heard what his idol said about him. He thought he had more people on his side when Nas dropped Nastradamus, but he forgot who the true savior of the streets was, the people voted for Nas. Jay’s later tracks about Nas was him excusing that and trying to turn all the facts Nas said about him around. There is no legit argument for Jay being better, what do you want to say, he’s more successful? Nas ripped him a new asshole, resulting in Jay crying and never being the same again. This is how a rapper demonstrates his superiority.

NOBODY shooks other rappers to the bones like Nas does. All of them are fans.

A few examples to why Nas is the GOAT:

He said that Cam’s album is whack, resulting in Cam going on a rent for months and saying all kinds of insults, finally leading into an emotional breakdown on the radio, dude was fucking hurt.

He said that Nore should step his game up.
Nore, as hurt as he was, needed 10 years to get over it. He even attacked Nas physically, because he couldn’t get over it.

He said Cormega was whack and couldn’t get a deal without his help. Cormega went on a 4 year rent, where he dissed Nas and said all kind of crazy things, sounding like a emotionally hurt bitch on all these tracks. He even said ”you didn’t even buy my first CD”. That’s a grown ass man crying because his idol didn’t support him.

Lake, being respected for his criminal past, crying on tracks, saying ”Why you ain’t save me the way Em came and saved 50?” What kind of faggotry is that? You have a dude begging Nas to be his friend.

Nas dropped Illmatic, that ALONE makes him FAR better than anyone else in the rap game. Jay can do what he wants, nothing will come close to the status Illmatic and Nas have.

Nas is the GOAT, proved it time after time and everyone, including Jay, is aware of that.

      8. ^^ Anonymous; like where your head is at nice post… and I recognize Jay is a top ten all time MC he just can’t hold a candle to Nas… and you hit it 100% when you mentioned how much Jay was shook after ether… to this day he gets dissed by pretty lame rappers that he would destroy in his prime yet he sits back with weak subliminals… kind of sad actually

LOL @ Cam/Nore/Mega… agree there no question

I agree that Nas leaves people shook… only time I can ever recall another MC shaking Nas was Pun on John Blaze and rightly so… Pun was a beast

      9. I have to co-sign this whole statement. It’s ridiculous beyond belief to even think that Jay is better than Nas. He has nothing on dude. His subject matter is unmatched, even concious rapper don’t touch him there. Nas will always be remembered for his legendary contributions to the rap game. Being the first outside rapper to ever appear on a Wu-Album and outshining all these other great songs with a single verse is unbelievable. Jay, despite getting awards and having huge sales, never accomplished something like this. Nas did always impress the Hip Hop community, the streets and critics alike. Jay had success, but was never accepted and praised like Nas by the people. A king doesn’t crown himself. Nas has never done the things Jay did. Sure, I Am… and Nastradamus couldn’t fuck with Illmatic or It Was Written, but they’re far better than the complete pieces of garbage the In My Lifetime volumes are. I Am… is a fucking banger and Nastradamus is underrated as fuck. Jay jumping from Kingdom to American Gangster to be accepted. I mean, Distant Relatives alone is better than anything Jay has done since The Black Album and if I count Nas’ tracks since then, his next solo will be a classic and better than BP3 and WTT combined. His verse on Rich & Black, his part on Ghetto Dreams, the epic verses on Carter IV and Nasty. Damn, this nigga is in the same mode he was when Stillmatic dropped. I can’t fucking wait.

      10. you dudes are funny. The reason Jay sold more records and won awards was because he made better songs. your personal reasons for loving Nas can’t take away the fact that Jay had the best rap career ever….which makes him the GOAT.

      11. That is truth. All the points these Nas fans said are personal preferences that don’t mean shit in the end. These points hold no weight. The discography is the ONLY thing that will be remembered in music history. And you really think they give a fuck what a few Hip Hop purists think? LMAO. Nas has Illmatic. Jay is waaaay more versatile and that is evident in his catalouge. Reasonable Doubt, In My Lifetime Vol. 1, The Dynasty, The Blueprint, The Black Album and American Gangster and The Blueprint 3. And COUNTLESS ICONIC, CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED AND UNIVERSALLY PRAISED, MEGA SUCCESSFUL CAREER-DEFINING tracks. Nas only has like 3 or 4 four songs like that aside from Illmatic. Seriously, who ever wants to play his other garbage albums? NO one. Not even his core fans. Jay is, without a doubt, the GOAT.

      12. Jay says he has the most money? He does. He says he is the best? He is.

Nas can’t claim something like this without making a complete clown out of himself. Jay has all the rights to.

      13. nas is signed to jay, do you realize that jay owns nas career? Like, ether was good, 10 years ago..lol so were the miami hurricanes. One song doesnt make you a goat, he isnt consistent, and he isnt even successful compared to any other rappers people consider goat, financially. I mean jay, em, 50, tupac, biggie, diddy, these guys made millions, nas is just nas, he isnt bad, he isnt huge, he is just nas, always will be. Poor guy had all the potential in the world but was scared to fly high and wanted this phoney image of him stayin real, when it was apparent he wanted to be a sell out, he just wasnt good enough

    51. Nas Is My Dude but this track is trash! Sounds like a brother with no paper settling for a track where is the “Made you Look” Fire?

    52. It’s sad to see some of the comments. We don’t have to shit on one MC to affirm or hold up another. I’ve always been a Nas over Jay fan, but that don’t mean Jay ain’t great, because in fact he is.

The reality is Nas NEVER wanted the limelight, dude never wanted to work all the time and be in front of the cameras all the time. I’m sure he’s more than comfortable with what he’s made of his career.

Now back to the track , dope track, typical Nasir, great storytelling, witty and vivid. He is one of the best and that’s that.

We don’t need to hate on Nas to like another rapper, actually Nas isn’t a rapper, he’s an MC. One more thing, this hook, sound like it has a Capone and Noreaga influence. I like the song!

    53. This isn’t early 90’s; I beg to differ. It sounds like the late 90’s has a I Am…. and Nastradamus feel to it. By comparison, its below average.

    54. Stp hating on nas cocksuckers j ain’t got shit on him. Nas b chilling if he wanted throne he could ez have it. He don’t want da spotlight. Remember who sampled whos voice j did nas. Ether killed takeover. Y’all fake hip hop heads losing it

      1. ”He don’t want da spotlight”

That has to be the stupidest shit I’ve ever heard and that is saying a lot. I like Nas, but that is ridiculous. That’s the reason he made ”If I Ruled The World” and went commerical after Illmatic dropped, right? Dude himself said that all he ever wanted is to be mainstream in 1997 (!). The fact that he said that only three years after Illmatic dropped speaks volumes.

      2. I love it when people If I ruled thr world was commercial.

It was cross over. But commercial??

Listen to the lyrical – NAS never sold out.
        Ever.

(he almost did with Kelis and that rumoured reality tv show… that would been hella boring….. unless Kelis gets fucked by a new guy every episode)

      3. Yeah, Nas did never make a mistake. He’s the realest guy to ever touch a mic and as far as you can get from selling-out.

He failed at selling-out, that’s the reason.
