    1. I don’t get where the hype surrounding this guy comes from…He sounds like any other basic rapper..Basic lyrics/concepts, basic beats that sound like they’re from 2005 and a basic, boring, flow…I’m not a fan of people like Drake and Big Sean, but at least they bring new styles to the game…J Cole is basic and does nothing creative or new…I guess he’s probably popular because he has the skin tone white people approve of. lol

      1. yes he good but compare him to Nas, BIG, Jay Ghost, Rae, AZ when they made their debut albums etc he pales in comparison…. can mention more….

      2. You sound stupid…. since when did white people scout black ppl Music by skin tone lol but you have a point he’s boring.

      3. You’re a fucking idiot. I can tell that you’ve NEVER been to a rap concert by that dumb ass, ignorant skin tone comment.

      4. There is a handful of songs that Cole has made where people can relate. Out of all the rappers out right now, J Cole is one of the most relatable rappers. For example,In this song he mentions spending 100k on college and the pressure that put on him and his mother…student loans are something a lot of people his age can relate to. I grew up in NC, so a lot of the stuff he raps about I can relate to. I struggle to relate to Drake, Wayne, or anybody in YMCMB…and I never sold drugs or claimed to be a G so Rick Ross does not do to much for me.

      5. Say what you want about the rapping, but basic beats? You must be deaf!Last time you heard a beat that good on the radio it was probably Kanye. Don’t let your prejudice and hateration doust your admiration. Give the dude credit he produces his own shit.

      1. Damn, you niggas need to compare EVERYTHING? There’s no next Kanye and there will be no Cole after Cole. Ye is Ye and Cole is Cole.

    2. J Cole can thank Drake for making him famous on Drake’s song In The Morning. J Cole is so overrated. His Saturday Night Live mixtape was alright but he fell off after that when his debut flopped. He’s just not cut out for a gold or platinum record. And J cole can’t get enough fans for his own tour, only when Drake headlines. I just think he’s average when it comes to rapping. He should try his hand at producing and see if that works out better for him. J Cole just won’t be one of the New York heavyweights

      1. Last time I checked J.Cole was signed by RocNation therefore he can thank Jay Z. Secondly, his song Lights Please made him famous & if your just tuning in on Saturday Night Lights you know nothing about him to even leave a comment. Check the discography. People are so quick to compare & contrast & throw salt. Who would’ve thought a wheel chaired actor from Canada would try & become a gangster rapper? So why hate On Cole

      2. Try again, hater.

Last time I checked, J. Cole was the flagship artist of Roc Nation in 2009. So, if anything made him famous was his link to CEO/President Jay-Z.

      3. In the Morning is Cole’s song first of all and Drake asked to get on it and he’s from NC not NY. He’s def above average, that goes without saying and Friday Night Lights was better than most rappers’ albums

      4. So much for a “FLAGSHIP” artist. If J Cole is the flag on Roc, then that flag is burnt like an american flag in Libya.

A flagship artist should be able to command 500,000+ or more.

    3. Are we all missing the fact that his mixtape was called Friday night lights? Not Saturday night live, nor Saturday night lights….the in the morning was Coles song from the warm up, which then he let drake get on it in the second version

    4. What you say cole aint hot, huh? where you read that shit….you believe that shit? All cause some lame nigga tweet that shit.

      1. No its not, take the fanboy glasses off and you could see that this song, aint fucking wit Diggys shit. Im not even a fan of Diggy, but he killed J. Cole on that shit. This shit is lazy and the producing is half assed……..Stop thinking everything Roc Nation throw out is dope, cuz its not. Smdh Im done talking

      2. This song is tight but cole just throws sneak disses out there, diggy man enough to say his name and kill him on a track. No response equals white flags. Much respect to Diggy for defending his sister. Props to cole for the joint.

    5. This is rite where hip hop needs to be. keep exposing frauds and bringing that Killuminati movement back. fuck the media and commercialization

    6. Cool song. The sample is kinda redundant but it’s Cee-Lo so its all good with me.

I wonder if some of you are the same guys who was just praisin Diggy for that “Fall Down” track

    7. This joint tough. It’s wild, I’m always usually seeking somethin in J. Cole’s work and be disappointed when he don’t deliver. It’s like he be right there at the verge but then he chooses commercial & “swag” over lyricism. Don’t get me wrong I think J. Cole is dope I just be wantin him to dumbout regularly & go over that line of *good*!

    8. Another great song from J Cole.

But I just want to let some of y’all know that it is possible to go to college, party, get bitches, get good grades, learn the game and also learn some educational knowledge to.

      1. If u under 21 i 4give u. But Otherwise, u must not have that much life experience.

lemme guess, u fuck with cheif keef or somebody similar to his style huh? im already knowin…

    9. damn, fuk wack ass JACOLE!!! y’all aint shit!! if JA RULE didnt gotta go to jail, you’ll gotta pay homage and kneel to Ja!! fuk nikkaz!! JA STILL OWNS THIS SHIT!! IT’S MURRDDAAAAA!!!

    10. I love the beat but he talks about the same stuff every song: My mama and me struggle, I’m gonna kill the game, women/bragging, the ville was rough and my dad left….anything else Cole?

      1. Not sure if you realized but all artist have a certain subject matter they constantly talk about.

What else do you want he to talk about? If he talked about gangs and drugs, or made some dumb downed club song you’ll be saying he sold out.

      2. @Anonymous #1 – some of us remember rappers who varied topics and themes from song to song instead of serving up what people think they expect. Once upon a time rappers used to lead their listeners. At least Cole is talking about being on a college campus and having an actual conversation with a woman.

    11. this nigga needs other niggas to produce for him….

I love this – but this record could be much bigger with the right drums and soundscapes..

      1. i would usually agree but honestly this production is dope…..sound like an old kanye soul beat with a great sample…..this shit is the definition of hip hop

    12. Anonymous: (poster) is really Digggy and his bum brothers hating on this song. It would have a 5. Simmons brothers, stop comment banging and go collect your allowances.

    13. yall all some bitches and this shit is complete fucking garbage. wtf are yall even thinking, future and 2chainz the best rapers out right now. dont nobody wanna listen to this weak shit he just keep talking abt the struggle, like what the fuck brush niggas tryna get money and bitches, he on that bullshit. emerald ave street lord all day fuck with the kid

      1. Nigga youre clearly not a realist. that sounded so dumb I really think you just made that shit up to be noticed and I got you, you need to get your life if you think 2 chainz is the best rapper out. You have No idea what a “rapper” is, would 2 pac come back and make a song with this nigga? hell nah then he is NOT a rapper.

    14. who is diz nigga? he fuckin suck. Roc Nation is da worst. YMCMB run da rap game. fuck Jay-Z. fuck NEW YORK aka GAY YORK. Lil Wayne is da GOAT. YMCMB all day err day. swag

      1. how disturbing that you have to assume he’s white when i saw the comment my first thought was he is ignorant to anything that has to do with real rap. none of yall know shit im 17 and white and i can tell you Eminem run the rap game and cole not far from him

    15. I reguarly talk shot about this dude – but u know what…. he is fucking one of the illest.

The track is perfect…. Cole – Im in awe bruh!

    16. Songs like this are just a barometer for how many cats chillin on this site don’t know shit about good music. This is fire, Cole is the truth.

    17. FUCK hiphopdx.com!! tried to comment on Lupe’s american terrorist part 2 and the page strictly prohibits commenting. WTF you censoring hip-hop for!! America, my ass if my 1st amendment right is taken away from me

      1. Yeah it is. J Cole sample this from Cee Lo’s record of the same title. Quiet as kept Cee Lo’s record won a gramm. Background vocals by a cat from Earth wind and Fire. Melonie Fiona got hot verse on there too. Melonie Finoa comprimises my principals as she is extremely strokable.

    18. Cole heating up like that left over lasagna. One of my favorite Cee Lo green records sampled. This is classic Cole. 5/5

    19. Wow. I love J. Cole so much. Lyrics you can relate to, and old school sound you can sit back and enjoy.
