The track off of the 23-year-old Detroit rapper’s EP No Pawns tells the story of the complications that come along with falling in love. Sometimes the emotional baggage that is carried from past relationships can seriously affect the way one moves on to future relationships. There’s a fear to trust again that is portrayed from the perspective of the woman in this song that to the average listener can easily be interpreted as “that fuck shit”, but at the same token can and should be interpreted as an example of the strength of women. This woman doesn’t want to be taken advantage of again and firmly stands her ground instead of passively and blindly trusting someone which is a lesson in love that a lot of us need to learn.
