Kendrick Lamar and U2 have teamed up once again for the track “American Soul.” Beginning with K. Dot’s words, “Blessed are the bullies/ For one day they will have to stand up to themselves/ Blessed are the liars/ For the truth can be awkward,” the song then goes into Bono’s verse, which starts with the same line he sings on the Compton rapper’s DAMN. single, “XXX.”
This is one of a few different collaborations between the legendary Irish rock band and Lamar. The “HUMBLE.” MC also delivers a speech on U2’s “Get Out Of Your Own Way.”
“American Soul” will appear on U2’s forthcoming album, Songs of Experience, which is expected to arrive on December 1.
