HipHopDX Premiere: Hip Hop vet Chino XL and Rama Duke have shared the new single, “Under The Bridge,” which takes its name and sound from the Red Hot Chili Pepper’s platinum selling hit of the same name. Found on the group’s 1992 album, Blood Sugar Sex Magik, “Under The Bridge” was about lead singer Anthony Kiedis’ torrid love affair with heroin. For the 2017 update, Chino and Rama have partnered up with independent music label 1520 Entertainment to deliver the imprint’s initial single.
“We hope that our hybrid version of ‘Under the Bridge’ might save some lives and inspire a new generation,” Jared Lee Gosselin, Partner and Founder of 1520 and producer of the track, said in press release.
The Grammy Award-winning Gosselin has produced music for artists like Velvet Revolver, DMC, Macy Gray, India.Arie, KRS-One,C and Musiq Soulchild. Listen to “Under The Bridge” above.
