On the second level of Club Virgil’s on Santa Monica Blvd. in Los Angeles sits the Dublab studios, where Jurassic 5 turntablist Cut Chemist crafts his bi-weekly podcast, A Stable Sound. On episode #10, the L.A. native hosts a celebration of Black History Month, Valentine’s Day and the music of J Dilla, whose birthday was Tuesday (February 7).

The two-hour episode features mixes by Mike Styles, Kali Dubz and Marvski, and the music of artists like Jennifer Lara, Gang Starr, A Tribe Called Quest, JD Of Slum Village, Ernie Hines, and Commodores. HipHopDX Music Curator Kyle Eustice also stops by the show to throw in her two cents and randomly shout, “Inglewood!” Listen above.
