Director Gus Sutherland is preparing to unleash The Unseen: A Detroit Beat Tape documentary, a film comprised of 1990s VHS tapes shot by archivist Justin Kovar. The film intends to shine a light on the “hidden and elusive characteristics inherent in a city often depicted in a one-dimensional light,” according to a press release.
In anticipation of the film, Sutherland has shared “Ghetto Wishing,” an unreleased J Dilla instrumental that appears on the documentary’s soundtrack. Check out the trailer below and new track above.
