HipHopDX Premiere: With the release of their highly anticipated collaborative album, Molotov, right around the corner, Brooklyn-based rapper Saga and Chicago producer Thelonious Martin have shared the gripping and lyrically rich lead single “Yesterday” featuring 28-year-old rap powerhouse Fashawn. Musically, Martin effortlessly shows off his production prowess by combining hard-hitting percussion with Saga’s potent rhymes as Fashawn ties it all together with his impassioned raps about being a young father.
“Yesterday” can now be streamed through all major streaming outlets, and is available for download as the first instant grat track off the iTunes pre-order for Molotov, which drops February 17 and boats contributions from Freddie Gibbs, The Mind, Rapper Big Pooh, and (of course) Fashawn. The album is also being released on vinyl early second quarter through Coalmine Records just in time for the duo’s European tour. Check out the track above and the track list below.
