After dropping the Snoop Dogg and De La Soul-assisted Plastic Beach in 2010, the Gorillaz retreated. As they seemingly emerge from hibernation, members Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett were feeling inspired by the women who contributed to their forthcoming album, and released a 30-minute mix titled Noodle, named after the group’s only female member.

Albarn has shared a mix of music of women who have apparently inspired the sound of the next Gorillaz album. The Soundcloud link is captioned:
“In search of new sounds and new inspiration, I found these kick-ass women who in their own individual ways are true pioneers in the writing, production and creation of MUSIC. They have inspired me, and I hope they inspire you too.”
