In anticipation of his upcoming December 14 album release, The Introverted Socialite, singer-songwriter Derek Pope sets the mood with a new track “Pool,” which the Los Angeles-based artist self-produced.
“‘Pool’ is about the idea of believing in something before it happens and taking a leap of faith,” Pope said in a press release. “Myself, and the team around me, had to believe in the vision of our success before it happened, like jumping into a swimming pool with no water. You can see the pool full of water in your mind, but until everyone else can see it, they will never understand why you jumped.”
His impressive 2015 debut EP Sunken City Redux yielded the widely popular lead single “Raincoats” and since then, he’s been focused on delivering a sound that borrows elements from indie, R&B, Hip Hop, and electronic music. Listen above.
