After an 11-year absence, Aloe Blacc and Exile reemerged as Emanon to release the 10-track project, Dystopia, and along the way, he also shared one of his few solo songs this year, “Real Slow,” which is only now being brought to the surface. With production by DJ Khalil and Sam Barsh, who both worked on the California-based artist’s 2014 hit, “The Man,” the song finds him daydreaming about an extravagant life he can share with a special someone.
“Don’t anybody know anymore how to keep anything to they selves/pretty sure I’m doubtful/too many scars to be an optimist/yeah, I’m just a fool from the old school who’s still trying to be monogamous,” he sings, making it clear he’s learned a few tough lessons from experience. Listen to it above.
