Featured on Wyclef Jean’s upcoming EP, J’ouvert, “If I Was President 2016” revisits his 2004 track, “President” from Welcome To Haiti: Creole 101 and gives it an update. If Wyclef was president in 2016, he’d address police brutality, racism and everything else happening in the current social and political climate. The Haitian artist actually did attempt to run for president of Haiti in 2010.
J’ouvert is a precursor to Wyclef’s forthcoming full length album aptly titled Carnival III: Road To Clefication, which is expected to drop next summer on the 20th anniversary of Wyclef’s critically acclaimed debut The Carnival. Check out one rendition of “If I Was President” below.
