One sign an artist is doing something right is when they’re able to get a group like French electronic duo Daft Punk to collaborate with them. In The Weeknd’s case, that’s exactly what he did. After months of teasing the collaboration, on Wednesday (September 21), The Weeknd sent out a tweet featuring the album art for his upcoming album, Starboy, and today (September 22), the Canadian artist has returned with the first single from the LP, also titled “Starboy” featuring Daft Punk.
While it has an overtly pop flavor, Daft Punk manages to add a little bit of sophistication with its warm synths and simple percussion. Starboy is scheduled for a November 25 release.
