Seemingly out of nowhere, NxWorries, the collaborative project between R&B vocalist Anderson .Paak and producer Knxwledge, are announcing their debut LP, Yes Lawd! The duo revealed the first single, “Lyk Dis” on Zane Lowe’s World Record Beats 1 radio show earlier today (September 19).
In a press release, .Paak calls the album his “best work” and plays a theatrically brash version of himself who “sings like a ’70s superstar and talks shit like a stone cold player.” Meanwhile, Knxwledge ties together samples and live fragments of bass, brass, and violin into a smooth, instrumental masterpiece.
Yes Lawd! is scheduled for an October 21 release via Stones Throw Records.
