A 23-year old Los Angeles native, JP Cali Smoov is best known for his musical collaborations with DJ Quik, Wiz Khalifa, and Snoop Dogg. His childhood was spent in and out of foster care and group homes until he moved to Chicago as a teenager. While in high school, Cali discovered his love of Hip Hop and started writing lyrics despite his involvement with negative elements in his neighborhood.

After being in and out of the legal system, Cali experienced a true life changing experience after flying to LA for a show. On the way to the venue, Smoov was in a fatal car accident, an accident that resulted in the death of his two best friends. After months of rehabilitation, Smoov decided to turn his life around and dedicate himself full time to making music.

Now, JP is back with his new anthem “Already Hit It,” which is produced by Resource of Ear Drummers.

JP Cali Smoov’s Jackie Robinson project will be released this summer on RBC Records featuring appearances from Problem, DJ Quik, Dom Kennedy & Big Syke among others.
