Pablo Dylan, Bob Dylan’s grandson, has been working behind the scenes over the last few years collaborating with many different artists.Today, he makes his HipHopX debut with the premiere of his new single “Midnight.” Feeling the track and want to know a little more about Pablo Dylan? Where are you from? Los Angeles

What inspires you to create music?

Culture inspires me. Seeing amazing achievements by others and seeing how they affect peoples lives is what inspires me to make music.Culture is everything. Seeing how culture affects peoples everyday lives. Seeing how important that is inspires me to create music.

A few people that have inspired me to make music are  Kanye West Rick Rubin, and Raf Simons

Raf Simons because he’s an amazing fashion designer. He changed the face of youth culture. His designs from 10 years ago are still influencing clothing today.

It’s not bout the album or the design or the shirt, its about what does it take on after it leaves me. With Raf Simmons most kids from last ten years have worn something he designed or something he influenced and they present that to people everyday. It becomes who they are.He defined the way people present themselves today between the ages of 15 and 25.

Kanye is like my idol I look up to him the most.He showed me that i can be different and that i can be perfect, not that i can achieve it, but he set the precedent you can be different and can be amazing.

The concepts we use to define music, art, and culture, Kanye proved to me you can change the face of a culture.You can actually influence people. Recognition isn’t what we do it for. Kanye’s goal was to be himself and he was so great at being himself that the world noticed .He was only trying to be himself.

Rick Rubin inspires me by being able to achieve a high level of creativity for such a long time..What he did with Run DMC, I mean he made a whole new sound. Rick is the illest. Rick is like a music God. When he produced The Beastie Boys their attitude, the punk influence inspired me,they were exactly who they are and never anyone else

Who are your musical influences?

Kanye West and Rick Rubin. The Clash as well, their attitude was unmistakable. The feeling you get when you listen to those records and their lyrics, they aren’t scared to address the problems.

I am a huge Drake and Kendrick fan as well. Arcas’ beats are amazing. Kendrick Lamar is the most important new hip hop artist…He’s living out all the ideas i believe in…He talked about his perspective….He talked about being this kid who wasn’t part of it (crime)but was around it and how it affected him. Regardless he stayed strong and kept his head on straight.

What is your mission in Hip Hop?

To be the best thats ever done it.

What makes you different from other artists?

I am dedicated to making high quality music. I am dedicated to making every beat, every kick drum, every lyric at the highest level I can possibly make it..

What inspired this song/video? 

I was thinking about The Rolling Stones and the rock star lifestyle. Midnight is a song about being 19 years old in 2014.and what you want out of that. The lifestyle you see yourself living.The lifestyle you are striving for at 19 yrs old.

What other songs or projects are your working on?

Producing Gia she’s a game changing artist, her voice is amazing. It has a pop sensibility but is really unique.

Generation Y…Hyped about this project with Alex. I produced the whole album, it’ll be one of my first Hip Hop releases.

My album as well is coming along. Its a truly unique experience. I am focused on saying exactly what I want to say, really making something that’s lyrically special that represents my views on life.

What’s next for you as an artist?

My album prep and producing for as many people as i can. Producing other artists is interesting. I have to keep my mind clear to think about what that artist wants not whatever my last session was. I produce trap records  and my stuff and I do rock records and pop records and I love all of it. I have been influenced by all these types of music my whole life. I switch from genre to gene and so i understand all of these different types of music. I want to to do rock records because its inspired me for 15 years so i do a rock record.

What still surprises you about Hip Hop? 

I think there are a lot of young creative people, a lot of people are trying to follow A$AP Rocky…Drake…Kendrick Lamar..three people who aren’t scared to do exactly what they want to do.
