Yes there are hundreds of rap songs which say produced by Dr. Dre, but songwriting and producing are two different animals, and Dr. Dre capitalizes off of the fact that most people don’t know the difference and some of the ones who do don’t realize a producer 20 years ago and modern day music producers wear different hats. Dr. Dre funds projects and finds beatmakers for projects, he has never made beats nor engineered.

Dre acts as financial, and promotional support, and an overseer of products which is traditionally what a producer used to be, only difference is most played at least one instrument.
