    1. Joell is an MC. Definitely had these bars on deck for whatever. Its cool, wouldve been just as happy to hear em without being in response to Kendrick. Hope he gets a little shine off it, but if he actually plans on beefing about itI dont know about that.

I liked how he pointed out everyone better respond with bars, not money/gun talk. BARS.

How mad is Cassidy that those rules werent in effect when he was clowning Meek?

More than anything Im just hoping NY cats get back on their shit.

      1. I dunno man he threw ina line about optimus prime after Kdot dropped the decepticons line …so definietly not all on deck

    2. Lets go Joell! THIS is what I wanted from Kendricks track. Niggas that actually put on for the Five Boroughs gonna come out of the woodwork. Regardless of how cats feel about Kendricks boast (much less dude calling himself King), this shits gonna re-arrange the pecking order back east, true speech.

    3. All these cats going to respond to K Dot verse then proceed to drop wack albums.#theymissingthepoint #wentovertheirheads

    4. Kendrick Lamar woke up every lyricist!!!!!

      THANK YOU KDOT!

JOELL ORTIZ did not let no one down this is a good way to begin!

    5. Also, all NY rappers will respond with the same ish: GTFOH, Ill slaughter/kill/murk you followed by a 15 more bars explaining how theyll smack you if they see you in the streets.

Thats why most of these responses wont matter; theyll all be the same from the people he didnt mention because they really dont matter. Im curious to hear more from the people who he named dropped.

      1. Exactly… why these niggas who he didn’t even mention all fired up???
Joell is nice but lets be honest nobody is checking for him, the only way this gets more interesting is if one of the dudes he named steps up to the plate!

    6. This is cool. Joell didnt body Kendrick, but he clearly didnt bow down to the boy who would be king. He also managed to kick a chairs over on his way out by alluding to bigger stars from NY who we all know wont buck back.

    7. Craziest part is that this aint even one of Kendrick most memorable verse. Hell I liked his verse on We Ball better (That your bitch fixing her makeup in my rims line was fucking cold), but the impact behind what he said outweighs any negatives you can come up with. Who knows if rappers are really gonna start bringing their A-game but lets enjoy this shit while it lasts. Rap nerds everywhere should be happy as fuck.

      1. Why would he or Nas need to respond? They have nothing to prove when they’ve already proven it!!! Just sayin..

      2. he just claimed that he was the king of the place hov is from? Why wouldn’t him or nas respond? What if Fab said he was the king of compton?

      1. So i guess preschool rhymes over overly percussion beats is the new thing lol…..you must dont understand the concept of heavy bars……

    8. good one, at least for a minute we will have some nice remixes and comebacks all in the name of raising the bar, and wonder which one of your favorite rappers wont reply, wont give it a go, and will just sit back and let time pass, lol get joel, get it KL, nice tracks so far

    9. This is some boring bullshit.. He didnt say one meaningful thing just a nigga that ain’t on anyone’s radar looking for attention.. Everyone get off of this whack shit

    10. Respect to Joell Ortiz with the first response to Kendrick Only Rapper in NY with balls to go up against him…Cant Fuck with Slaughterhouse!!!!!!!

    11. Done Woke Up A Sleepin Giant, bet Joey didn’t expect one of the team members to get@ ’em.
He should’ve gotten@ K-dot himself tho in stead of bein A $tan – Just friendly competition – Big shout to Ortiz, fear No man but God – $$$

    12. Really, Joell Ortiz also responding to Kendrick Lamar’s verse on Big Sean’s control. Who is that guy that we never heard of.

    13. Ortiz went hard and K. Dot did his thing but some of those bars he spit were kurrupt bars that he added and flipped a lil bit…But both were versions were fire. (side note Jay Elect verse was harder han K.dot joint on the original)

      1. @Tay nah, Sean and Jay Elec came hard, but they wasn’t touchin Kendrick. No one had NY that shook since Pac in ’96.

    14. Dats right KDot make these booty ass lames step they shit up…this right here ain’t it tho…#tryagainmuthasucka

    15. A for effort but Kendrick this is rap. Go hard or go home. After listening to this, I would say go home and try again. Kendrick still came harder

    16. you little fucks dont know shit about shit…………….like these comments are aggravating. joel ortiz ate!!! these other rapper hiding behind the net nd aint spitting shit. BRING YOUR BARS!!! of ll niggas joel is first real ass nigga YAOWA

    17. I feel Joell didn’t need to respond because he’s doing what he does when he goes off, it’s not increasing Joell’s competitor level, he’s been doing this shit for years now, consistent, although him releasing this in response to Kendrick does get him more hype.

      1. AGREED 100% OF ALL PEOPLE I DIDNT THINK JOELL WOULD DISS KENDRICK LIKE THAT. JOELL JUST RAPPED KENDRICK DONE A HOLE LOT MORE

    18. I WAS JUST THINKING HE WOULD BE THE FIRST ONE TO RESPOND THIS MORNING!!! Hahaha…Kendrick is still raw though.

      Slaughterhouse100

    19. joell is nasty 1 quarter of the slaughter but k.dot still killed it as well great for hip hop this is where it comes from….

    20. GLAD SOMEBODY RESPONDED AND IT WAS DOPE….. CAN’T BELIVE NOBODY HAD THE BALLS RESPONDED NYC IS WEAK !!!! THIS RAP GAME IS A JOKE HE CALLED OUT THE STATE AND A LOT OF RAPPERS AND NO RESPONSE ALL DAY WOW.. THATS WHY KENDRICK IS SUCH A FUCKIN FORCE TO BE RECKON WITH , BUT PROPS TO JOELL HE BRING FIRE….. SHADY ALL DAY.

    21. Damn, K. Dot got these dudes SHOOK! No diss tho, Joell came hard as usual but I kinda wish Crooked I or Royce would’ve been the one to respond, that would’ve set the game on all kinds of fire

    22. I loved Kendrick’s album, probably best of 2012. But as far as battle rapping, he is not in the same league as someone like Ortiz.

    23. Joell’s verse was easily better than Kendrick’s verse on control, but would fall to Kendrick’s verse on Rigamortus.

    24. Lost respect for Joell. He doesn’t get it. Kendrick’s verse was to bring back the competition in hip hop that hasn’t been around since the late 90’s. No Beef. The competition died when Biggie and Pac died. It was all just dumb beef after that. Jay-z and Nas, any 50 “beef”.

I thought Kendrick’s verse was very good. Not sure why all the hype but very good.

    25. Thank you for this joell. Lamar’s dope and gkmc was great but he was getting way outta hand with his arrogance. I could let it go as hunger for more and confidence in his work, but that line on control was just a no. Don’t get me wrong I’m a fan of kdot too but I was just waiting for some veteran to teach him a lesson. He’s still relatively new in hiphop and he shouldn’t be out there claiming he’s already at the same level as people like jayz/nas/other kings of the game.
      YAOWA

    26. K. Dot & Joell fan here.. Joell’s slightly better than Kendrick here… nastier flow. This warrants a response K Dot

    27. I LOVE TDE DUDES BUT PEOPLE DONT UNDERSTAND HOW CRAZY SLAUGHTERHOUSE IS WITH THEM BARS, DONT LET THAT LAST ALBUM FOOL YOU

    28. I give it 4 stars out of 5 because it was done in such a short time and had some dope bars, no personals keeps it from being a 4.5 but I don’t think joell is trying to get personal unless k dot responds, I look at kendrick more as a poet than battle rapper though but people thought that about nas until he had to do it, kendrick might have had things stored for the ones he mentioned but when someone comes out of left field than that changes things

    29. I agree that the point of this song was to re-inspire rappers in general. Way too many trying to get rich for the sake of getting rich(Mac Miller) I respect them both. I enjoyed both songs. I only wish more rappers get on this level and step up their game instead of dumbing it down

    30. Some good shit, but it seems like Kendrick tried to bring lyrical hiphop back into the game, put it on another level and Ortiz is sorta feels like dissing him, anyhoe maybe this move will bring some interest back in the game, cuz right now hiphop/rap is wack as fuck

    31. kendrick, killed it, joell brought it back to life and killed it twice. for real tho. bar for bar. this is way sicker. i highly doubt anyone kendrick named could come like this ever. maybe jcole on roids.

    32. EXCELLENT! This is the inspiration Joell needed! I was so disappointed in Welcome To Our House, but Joell has been ON POINT this year! Keep this focused energy coming, Joell!

    33. i got to stop coming to this site for opinions- any same person can just switch up user name 100 times and hate or dickride.. they need a log in thing here this shits gettni wack

    34. Don’t think Kendrick was trying to diss Slaughter by leaving them out, but 5/5 for the quick response and solid bars.

    35. Album Sales, lyrical content, money, fan base, etc! That’s why K.Lamar didn’t mention this ninjas name, because ortiz is like the ninja that’s been hustling on the corner for years trying to double up off an ouce but kept smoking his own shit. K.Lamar calling out relevant ninjas with relevant record deals and MAINSTREAM sucess. This dude wasted his time with this record, but it was dope as fuck…..

      1. STUPID, what kind of facts are those???

you can never waste your time when its real music– but if 2chainz made a rap about bitchs and had 1 line about k.lamar in it it would be worth it right..

        this is what lamar wanted

      2. STUPID why the fuck is 2chains even involved in this conversation. Dumb ass dude couldn’t write nothing merely similar if someone dropped 100mil on his lap.Ortiz said in the beginning of the verse that he didn’t mention him, and I’m just explaining why. I feel like he wasted his time because a mid major artist like ortiz ain’t fucking major like Lamar. EXAMPLE: You play for triple A baseball team you batting 350, 150RIBS,75 stolen bases, 50 HR’s that shit don’t matter because you aint doing in the MAJORS! IS THAT PLAIN ENOUGH FOR YA!!!!!!!!!

      3. joey badass is not major, but he is in the rookie challenge with k-dot at the all-star game, k-dot is a sophomore who just got called up from the d-league last year, lol. I mean in that context only drake, j.cole, wale or any of those artists could step up to the plate and the mentioned are not from NYC either. When you claim King of NYC it’s open game for anyone in NYC to challenge you, I mean that has been a battle cry since the 80’s.

    36. Ortiz did his thing on this. That Kendrick verse on Control was sick, if you don’t think so listen to the part about the crashing plane. Listen to the song with K-Dot and Tech N9ne called Fragile he demolished that too. Give Ortiz credit for spitting something worthwhile, I wonder if anyone else will step up.

    37. why is he getting all the credit for responding back first. C’mon Phil Jackson responded. While Ortiz was writing his verses lol

    38. ” I’m optimus prime ……….just wishing that a starscream so i can go on a bombing mission” YIKES!!! a star has screamed and Joel just did a shock an awe bombing mission.

    39. Lets not forget that Kendrick’s was a verse compared to Joell’s whole song….

…and to me KONY = King of Hip Hop…from an elitist POV. All Kendrick is saying is aint nobody touching him….and he’s right. You can call it arrogance if u want but its no different than Jay-Z claiming HOVA.

    40. Joell was cool IF this was just put out there, but this was some cooked coke crack….Kendrick is that raw uncut…No comparison. some good lines, (the transformers bit was dope) but this a whole song compared to ONE verse. NO COMPARISON.

      1. youre a blind idiot. this murdered kendricks verse

you made it a hot line I made it a hot song

you had a hot verse a murdered a whole a song

    41. This shit tough. Thank you kendrick… time to bring hip-hop back to the basics(lyricism). Fuck all the swag and numbers and image time to step your bar game up.

    42. Kendrick was only mentioning the rappers he’s worked with. He intended no hate to anyone he didn’t mention, imo.

      1. he didn’t mean hate to anyone. anyone that doesn’t think what he was sayin shouldn’t be an emcee. he’s just sayin it, and not the first to do it. royce does that shit all the time.

    43. bodied it,,,,,kendrick done started some shit,,,,,j o is the right one to respond,,,,good shit,,,,,

      this is hiphop,,,,well done

    44. illiterate people don’t realize that Kendrick never said he was the king of New York. he was using that ish as a metaphor to say he was the new Biggie, cuz right before he said that, he said he was pac’s offspring…learn to decipher metaphors people

    45. gave it another listen,,,,,,son repped,,,,N Y,,,,hard body,,,,,thats what im talkin bout

      96st medina,,,,zzzyeah!!!!!!

    46. DOPE SHIT!!! WE WILL SEE HOW K.DOT RESPONDS… LETS KEEP IT HIPHOP PLEASE!! I DONT WANNA HEAR A NIGGA GETTIN SHOT STABBED OR ROBBED BEHIND THIS SHIT….. ON ANOTHER NOTE I HOPE EVERY REAL M.C. FROM NY STAND UP TALL AND BRING THIS THING BACK HOME WHERE IT BELONGS!!! PEACE TO WESTCOAST MID WEST AND THE DIRTY SOUTH….

    47. Holy shit now that’s a rebuttal! First song out in response to Control and Kendrick’s verse got ate sideways. Got love for both these dudes but that was ill JO.

      1. No, he said “Kirdis” is a sweetie. Kirdis Postell is the former gm of Aftermath Records. I know, they sound alike. You gotta know the story.

      2. He’s the reason why Joell’s project kept getting pushed back when he was with shady aftermath, causing him to leave as a solo artist.

    48. lol he made a song. Of course this is better than K.Dots verse. smh. I doubt we will hear a response from Kendrick. The verse he made was a statement. Not a diss. Overall nice song by Ortiz!

      1. Joell raps straight through the whole $hit, no breaks, this is a crazy ass verse that destroys Kendrick’s challenge…I’m a fan of both, but Ortiz killed dude on this one.

      1. Oh and you act like he didn’t kill this song? You can Joel went harder and that’s fine (publicity stunt mostly) but Kendrick went off. You’re either def or just plain stupid to think otherwise.

    49. Yooooo….Joel went in! I didnt expect this to be ill, but my nigga Joell stepped up. Respect just for approaching, my g…word!

    50. LOL REALLY KENDRICK??? THIS NIGGA JOELL JUST WENT OFF!!! FUCK THAT CONTROL SHIT!!! THIS SHIT IS OUTTA CONTROL NIGGA!

    51. Wasn’t fab and joey supposed to respond. Oh wait their waiting on a studio to opening
Bull shit. Joell Responded right away that we know who’s really Repping New York

    52. ridiculous!

kendrick new exactly what he was doing with that verse. and joell wasted no time taking the challenge on the chin and responding with fire.

this my friends is what hip-hop is suppose to be like.
cats better step they bars up…CHALLENGE

    53. HE FUCKIN BODIED KENDRICK LAMAR. KENDRICK IS NICE, BUT NEXT TO THIS MAN, OH HELL NO. NEW YORK STAND THE FUCK UP.

    54. Bodied. period. Regardless of the kendrick dickrider opposition. Any hip hop fan can see it no problem. bodiedbodiedbodied

    55. Thats light. Joell ain’t no where in Kendrick Class. He hasn’t even dropped an album to be mentioned. Bars were good, but filler.

      1. This will always be the difference between true heads and those that claim to be. Some “heads” think that album sales and critical acclaim matter. True heads know where hip hop lives, its about an artists entire body of work. Song for song, not album for album. Keep sleepin. Much love to both but the Yaowa went in and with one verse, showed Kdot aint no king of new york.

      2. “True heads know where hip hop lives, its about an artists entire body of work. Song for song, not album for album.”

So Joell loses according to you.

      3. fuck an album, we talking verses. no money, no lights and cameras, Bars. Joel did em easy… If it is true what he said he should respond. hands down.

This shit feels threatening to MFs that listen to bullshit.

    56. I wish he would have mentioned Royce da 5’9. If yall think Joel went off, Royce would have gone mental.

      1. That doesn’t change the fact that Royce would have bodied him if he mentioned his name like he did everybody else a#*hole.

    57. Ortiz murdered it. These new cats might think shit is sweet and you can say some reckless shit like claiming King of NY, but best believe the realest MC’s from NY are not having that.
      Crushed It. Slaughter.

      Boricuas On The Set!

    58. Decent bars but absolutely NO ONE is checking for this dude. It seems like his entire career only consists of freestyling over everyone elses shit. Kendrick is closer to being the King of NY than Ortiz will ever be. GKMC> Ortiz entire catalogue.

      1. Ever heard of Slaughterhouse? Ortiz is nice man. GKMC is ok, but the first Slaughterhouse Album destroys it IMO. Music is relative to each individual tho

    59. “Cuz I don’t big up the elite, the elite can get it too, yall all fit under my feet!”
      Whoa! Nasty

Kendrick Lamar’s verse was tight, but this straight murks it. Best Ortiz I’ve heard in a minute. Gets me ready to hit the gym hard! Fiya

    60. This is what has been missing from hip hop! Some competitive shit not just rapping about cars and money.

    61. Great that Kendrick sparked a lil fia under this boys. I feel he shouldve mentioned great lyricist like 2Chainz, Future, Frech Montana and Cheif Keef!

    62. Big Sean can just remove himself and this track off of the HOF album and put Jay Electronica on another track. After what Kendrick and Joey did to this…? Its not even his track no more…. Shiiiiiiiiiiiitttttt they just woke up Hip Hop and whack ass lyrics over a dope beat aint going to cut it anymore… This is what people have been waiting for in Hip Hop.

      1. kdot did well, joel raised the bar higher, at least someone actually defended the honor of NY, this stupid rich niggas are too busy to respond…. yuck

    63. Hey question? Wouldn’t Joell Ortiz be considered an old school rapper? Just asking plus he wasn’t included on the list with. I mean this is sad you had no one except Joell defending NY? I mean dang no one is stepping up? The only person I think is gonna step up Pusha T, and frankly I’m trying to figure out why is everybody else doing twitter post. Hopefully the ones who haven’t replied are working on their game. Same with Tyga where the heck did he come from when he said it changed me. LOL

      1. Twitter is one of the main reasons the game is so soft right now. Most artists don’t even think of picking up a mic to respond anymore. Good to see Joell respond so quickly. All them other cats were busy arguing on twitter…SMH.

    64. Love this shit! Kendrick goes in, just fuckin’ begging for responses and he gets one from an absolute beast. Joell is nice as hell and so is Kendrick, Joell is to. And his response won’t be the last. That verse was an invitation to all the lyrical heavyweights, vets and new jacks, to throw their “fuck Kendrick, I’m the best” verse out there and have some “friendly” competition. Hip-Hop is back!

    65. KDot stood up in class and told nigga’s to either listen to the teacher or shut the phuck-up or get the the fuck out of class…HAHA Ortiz came with it, but, unfortuantely he made himself a huge target and he’s not as subliminal as KDot…LMAO, this will get very interesting.

      1. Better question is do your eye’s work…Didn’t say this wasn’t cold, but, trust that KDot is a subliminal killer and we all know what that does in hip-hop…And, know one has made a response song yet, except, Joel, thus, the target statement…

    66. Joel did his thing but def didn’t go in like K. Dot did. K. Dot is challenging the whole industry to go back to its roots and make better raps. Joel just had a rant because he wasn’t mentioned. Truth be told K.DOT is doing numbers on every track and is easily the hottest rapper in the game since coming out. Young man said I’m Makaeveli’s offspring I’m the King of New York, King of the Coast. Pac once went by MC New York or King of New York and held down both East and West Coast at one time in which K. Dot is saying he is the new 2pac. This young man is too damn lyrical and there is no stopping this guy. Love Hip Hop

      1. lol u must be mad huh..its okay for ur fav mc to lose. k.dot called himself king of new york n thats a no no. k.dot ma guy but joell killed him. im not gonna front be like kendrick won cuz im a big fan.. the truth is joell ortiz murked the beat.

    67. This is the exact response I hope the whole industry has to Kendrick Lamar. Not that I want people to go in on him but more so to step up and just spit. Sadly, only a handful of people will even try because nowadays most rappers are just garbage…smh. There is plenty of good rappers but the bad outweight them by a ton…

    68. joell ortiz got at kendrick lyrically real hiphop heads know ortiz had no recycle rymes all lyrics. lotta cats sleep on ortiz and they dont fuck with him

    69. A lot of people are saying that Kendricks diss wasn’t to Joell Ortiz, only to the ones on the list. That just ain’t true. By K. Dot saying he’s the King of New York he’s saying everyone in New York he’s better than other than Hov because he considered him equal. So that is why Joell did this manSLAUGHTER!!!

    70. When you claim you king of ny or cali you gonna get ran over and ortiz just whooped that little dude. jay electric murked kdot on the spot

    71. damn, damn, damn, kdot did well, joel raised the bar higher, at least someone actually defended the honor of NY, this stupid rich niggas are too busy to respond…. yuck

    72. Idk what y’all talkin about Lamar’s verse and this song?? Kendrick’s verse was longer than this whole murder Session

    73. If y’all rated this as bad is cause u ain’t even know. This guy is a true hip hopper and a lyrical murderer Kendrick don’t stand a chance!

    74. Joell Ortiz is a nobody in the game of rap ,k-dot still winning but I must say the b.o.b response is fire

      1. if you really count out rappers for being a “nobody” you shouldn’t even be talking about hiphop. most “nobody’s” are better than the mainstream.

    75. 5*****

JOELL beEn sLePt On 2222222222222 LoNG.. wHo sAY HE sPiT buT DoNt maKe niCe tRacCz?? WhAt doeZ tHAt mEan?? gTFO..

..thank you Joell 4 loving hiphop..

*FineAzzPrint: Never Thought Joell Would Ever Have Seriouzz Competition.. Guess WE Find Out Now. Wish Some Of These BARS Could Finish Off Some Trolls*

    76. Not a bad effort by Ortiz, but nothing i haven’t head from him on every track or freestyle i’ve ever heard of his. dude went in but sorry, couldn’t touch K.Dot, He’s on another plain of existance from you Joell.

      1. he “goes in on every freestyle youve ever heard” but hes not on an over hyped rappers level? oh ok..

what your saying is is that hes so good and his level of consistency is so high you cant get excited for him anymore because you already know its gonna be awesome before you hit play…

      2. @anon. Learn how to use quotations and work on your reading comprehension. What I meant was Joell Ortiz is nice and has a pretty technical flow, definitely talented. but IMO hes 1 dimensional and his music doesn’t stack up against Kendricks and that Yawwwaaa voice is wack IMO. As for freestyles JO’s pen game is sick, really solid but I respect artists that memorize their shit before hand. But thats just my opinion, if that offends you some how thats just too bad.

    77. JOELL ORTIZ…I WILL TELL YOU IN A MANS VOICE…FUCK OFF….you didn’t get mentioned because you ain’t RELEVANT MOTHERFUCKER

      1. Listen to his rebuttal and tell God and everyone else that he isn’t relevant. Popularity and talent are two different things.

      2. Ortiz just made himself very relevant…This was a great response to Kendrick, but, we shall wait and see Kendricks response though he may go over many people’s head’s like a cuckoo’s nest…Big props to Ortiz for standing up and grabbing the bar that’s now been set pretty f-ing high…Hell, I think NAS going to bring it now…This shit going be good for the next few years to come.

    78. wats all this fuss about k.dot’s verse on control.People are okay with Yeezy saying he’s a ‘god’ but y’all ain’t okay with Kendrick saying he’s king of NY? Its about time someone made rap music today worth listening to for a while!!!! TDE Rules #TeamKendrick

    79. The critics pet Kedrick gon’ have a lot of responses from the New York niggaz. That’s good though, competition makes everyone better.

    80. Get back at me when all these lames that attacked kendrick produce a good album that matches good kid mad city. All of slaughterhouse rap decent but they arent great story tellers and they dont have the skills to produce an album with replay value. Battle rappers never make it big which is why slaughterhouse flops so hard.

      1. 4Record: i Believe Joell couLd put out A Record w/ StoryTelling n’ Replay Value. i Think Itz Coming. ‘FreeAgent’ haS pLenty oF Replay Value 4 mYSelf..

But U Right that LaMar has put It All together. And on More Than One Project. SomeTimez I Like S.80 more than GkMC.. He’s the Only REal Competition 4 Joell. Who can Fux w. eitheR of Them??

    81. Joell more than represented for himself and NY. Love Kendrick and his energy and mentality make hip hop competitive again and I love that. Joell got him though. Slaughterhouse dudes if one thing they can do is rhyme with the best of them and best them at times. These guys verbally spar with Em so it’s no surprise to me that he ate him up.

But mad respect to Kendrick for at least and binging out the passion from other emcees to just rhyme the way they should have been rhyming. For putting the game on blast and for making it exciting because this can only mean good news for us. You mean to tell me that all emcees will now be rhyming like if their rep depended on it. Competitive spirit back in hip hop can only mean that lyrically we are headed to another golden age.

Joell raised the bar. Defended NY the right way.

      1. Exactly…Now, even-though Ortiz ate him up there is yet to be a response from Kendrick (directly)…Just something to think about.

    82. sick…..let d madness begin….big ups to kdot …..brought out the monster in all rappers….lets see hw rap goes frm here on

    83. Yo Ortiz!!! he left you out of the lyric because you are irrelevant to the lyric! you are no threat to kendrick.

      1. I agree with Anonymous. I’ve been a fan of Ortiz and have met the dude, but this didn’t do anything for me. It started off well and the second half was irrelevant. For as long as Joell’s been out he will never reach Kendrick’s success. Kendrick has a song with Dido man that’s when you know your mainstream!

This is the Canibus syndrome. Dope ass rhymes but can’t structure them decent enough for a mainstream album.

        Not Hatin’ just real talk!

    84. Dope…
      Joell went IN with this..

Little homie you ain’t the king of New York, you the next thing on my fork

    85. Yo, Joell is a lyricist! I always felt him since the Bodega Chronicles. Kendrick you onto something! I hope everyone keeps raising the bar. I think he sums it up best with these bars:

Either way, I personal train this beat, it gotta get ripped
You rich rappers can’t respond with all the dollars you get
Gangsta rappers can’t retaliate with hollows and clips
And you fashion rappers wear the kind of jeans that hardly get zipped
So zip it, I got this shit, real hip hop in this bitch

    86. insane from ortiz. that is how everyone on a each record should rap, with passion and hunger. i still believe he is the weakest member in slaughterhouse though, but that was an immense response

    87. This is what i call HIP HOP…Ortiz be dat nigga…going mafrucking HEAD on!!1/4 of da Slaughter Machine..Crooked where u at..lol..say something

      1. You must think Lil Webbie, Gucci Mayne and Soulja Girl are the best rappers ever huh? Kid are you fuckin retarded?

    88. an how long did it take the guy to write this?truth be told Ortiz just needs a dope producer and a good record label

    89. I’m just glad this shit got hip hop debating and talking. Joell set the bar super high for all these dudes who are thinking about replying but this is great for hip hop. Kendrick got dudes back to competing instead of making weak pop tracks. We shouldn’t be hating or taking sides. Hip hop is competition. Joell went off

    90. too much k.dot dick riders yes he is nice yeah he released a good album but his fans and his ego has them on some shit

    91. wtf Ortiz???u really want me and Slaughterhouse to go at it??we from the same Label G…dats y i aint mention u guys

    92. MAN IF SLEEPING ON THIS SHIT.. YOU REALLY NEED TO GO GET A HIP HOP REALITY CHECK TO WHAT THE FUCK YOU BEEN LISTENING TO!

    93. The track was good no doubt but it still didnt beat Kendrick. I know some of u NY dudes loving it though LOL. Kendrick still won

    94. i really want all the rappers that k.dot mentioned should reply….NY rappers making southern music..shi..you gon learn today

    95. Take it Ez Ortiz and stop scrambling for lime light. @kendrick..Surgically remove this bum from the equation….

      Gaza mi seh

      1. First off Kendrick could’nt give a decent repsonse to this diss if Emenim wrote it for him smh. What’s sad is people get put on pedistools that don’t belong there. Given Kendrick has talent but King of N Y never was and never will be. I don’t see fool either..

    96. Wow.. 5/5!!!! I Really don’t like Ortiz, but wow.. this shit gotta hurt kendrick.. haha..

Inferno schorch a bonfire!! lmao.. just great!!

    97. im not a huge fan of Joell like that.
whatever bar KENDRIK THOUGHT HE SET. JOELL SET IT HIGHER.
DONT TRY AND DISPUTE IT. YOU GOTTA LISTEN AT LEAST TWICE TO GET WHAT HE SAYING(IF U R INTELLIGENT)…but if ur a dumb MF..maybe 4 times. Or just go ahead 1 yourself

    98. Well everytime a rapper from the west is willing out their carreers soon end one way or another and for example game is nothing without the dr dre beats , dr dre still hasnt released de tox , 2 pac got shot the fuck up i mean if kendrick really thinks he’s the king of new york it will only lead to a nyc rise to fame and superstardom , the east always kills the west and thats a fact besides kendricks verse wasnt all that great ya’ll just overhyping it hence he called out some wack ass rapper like drake asap rocky and shit if anything they’re more like pop singers and cant rap about anything rather than hoes so if he considers himself the best lyricist fire towards nas or jay , redman or you know anyone even fat joe

      1. STFU .. HIP HOP STARTED FROM THE EAST..IM A L.A NUCCAH AND RESPECT KRS ONE, RAKIM, LL, WU, BIG, JAY, NAS, TWALI, MOS DEF, AND SO ON AND SO ON BUT DONT SIT UR MARK BITCH ASS THERE AND SAY THE WEST AINT BROUGHT U TO UR FEET.. IN THE GAME TODAY CROOKED, GAME, KDOT AND HOPSKIN ARE SOME LYRIKAL BEAST NOT TO MENTION OUR FOUNDERS OF ROGER CLAYTON, GRANDMASTER SPADE, NWA, ICE TEE, HEIROGLYPHICS, HOBOJUNCTION, ABSTRACT RUDE,SPINZ, AHMAD, FREESTYLE FELLOWSHIP, JSSIC 5, PHARCYDE, DIGITAL UNDERGROUND, CYPRESS HILL, SO ON AND SO ON, SNOOP N DA DOGG POUND, SO ON AND SO ON.. SO RESPECT MUSIC AS A WHOLE MARK! NOT JUS LEFT COAST.. WHY YOU THINK KDOT MADE THAT LINE.. HE WANTS THE RESPECT FROM EAST COAST AS WELL AS HIS HOME.. HE GOT IT NOW I WILL TELL U THAT.. LOOK AT THE RESPONSE!!!! WEST COAST STAND UP

    99. “you not the king of new york, you the next thing on my fork
The messenger with all them rings on a horse, carrying king’s heads
til i kick in ur chest and u cough and fall into a bottomless pit
man you know how many bodies that fit?”

      That ‘300’ reference killed it

    100. Best retort to K.Dot hands down. Lupe gets second. Y’all should thank Kendrick cause he lit a fire up hip-hops ass. Hoping to hear some good hip-hop for the next couple of weeks. Props to Kendrick not battling one MC but every single MC in hip-hop.

    101. rap a competition now cant wait to see who comes out on top

everyone who wants be relevant has to respond

yea that means jay z to

    102. ONCE AGAIN I DONT SEE WHY ORTIZ STEP IN.. KDOT IS NOT ON HIS LEVEL.. ITS LIKE A DAD WHIPPIN HIS SON SMH..KDOT CALLED OUT THOSE THAT HE WANTED TO GET AT.. EVERYONE ELSE IS RESPONDING…THE ONLY THING I SEEN GOOD OUT OF THIS WAS ORTIZ SPANKING KDOT FOR CLAIMING HE’S THE KING OF NY…AND WHAT A HELL OF A WHIPPING IT WAS LOL BUT HE QUICK TO WHIP KDOT ASS BUT WHEN MY NUCCAH ROYCE WAS BEEFING WITH WU, OR BUDDENS WITH SAIGON, WHERE WAS HE THEN? LIKE I SAID HE A BEAST. BUT DONT KILL LIL NUCCAHS STICK TO THE OGS .. LEAVE KDOT TO COLE, JOEY BADASS, LUPE, DRAKE, PUSHA, MEEK WEAK ASS, TYLER AND THE REST OF THEM NEW BOOTYS..

    103. Joel is crazy! Kendrick is hard too and his verse was ill! funny how Joel started with Kendrick but then also called out others without having to mention names! This is good for real hip hop, not that radio bullshit!

      1. wow seriously. you not serious where did he body him at what line cause I didn’t hear it this shit funny Kendrick got all these dudes feelings hurt I love it haven’t heard a good come back yet Kendrick put all these dudes on notice pull your skirts down and stop acting singing ass niggas

    104. Good stuff, but he said in there he and Slaughterhouse weren’t mentioned in Kendrick’s verse..so why bother responding LOL

      1. MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY.. SLAUGHTERHOUSE ARE UNDER EM.. UNDER EMINEM BEST LYRICIST IN MY EYES SINCE PAC .. U CANT BEAT THEM.. KDOT TRYIN TO GET TO THAT LEVEL.. ORTIZ JUST A BEAST …LOL NOT FARE

    105. R E S P E C T!!!!…..BARS!!!!!

He bodied this shi* without talking about shooting & stabbing a nigga up… REAL RAP !

    106. ok … ok …joell slayed it!! & coming from a true fan of lyricism, i gotta ask why would a giant in the lyrics game even bother responding??? lamar was talking to all the candy *** rappers. joell know this was an easy win!!

      1. I can’t blame him for responding. Reason why is even though Kendrick was mentioning his freshman class of rappers, he still said he was the king of new york and said he was the Tupac. A long with saying that his name should be mentioned with the likes of Em and Jay. As much as I think thats bold and that Kdots dope, that dont fly. That gives anyone who feel he a true king of NY the green light. And Joell spazzed on him hard. First track out in response and he shown up Kendrick, murked him with one verse!

      1. True that homy kendick bit of mo than he could chew n nw he’l hve 2 choke on it wyl joel shoves it dwn his troat

      1. Co-sign Anon. Just be glad that Crooked I didn’t do a response. K-Dot would’ve been too embarrassed!

    107. kendricks was ok, but it was genius cuz the rap game is alive today. joell has raised the bar on this one, this kills all the others

    108. Joell Ortiz and Lupe both killed it, don’t matter who’s better. Just be glad k. dot said what he said lol free music! Bars from everybody

    109. all these dudes got rhyme books. anyone could put a hot ‘freestyle’ together and make it about Kendrick. sorry to see all these rappers, all the media is missing the point – that shit wasn’t about come back at me with your hottest bars. it was an open invitation to make rap about rapping again, take hiphop back. it’s not about fuck jewels fuck cars and money and shit, it’s about “show some respect to the artform that let’s you get all that.” stop insulting hiphop’s intelligence.

    110. ortiz is from NY so thats a response right there….im still waiting on 50….BANKS…fabolous….jadakiss

      1. Los already submitted his response, you can find it on this site, and (in my opinion) comes off better than Joell’s…. and I’d choose Joell over Fabolous anyday. : /

      2. whooooaaaaa, scratch THAT ^^^ This whole time i thought Los was ‘Loso or Fabolous, i had never heard of this dude Los before!!! maaannnnn, nevermind… Fab hasnt responded yet.

    111. couldnt agree more. ITs not about making one hot verse or anything. This was about elevating rap. Making good ALBUMS again. The Blueprints, 2001s, college dropouts, documentarys, reasonable doubts, illmatics, Hell Hath No Furys, etc. Honestly I dont even put good kid maad city anywhere near those clasics but I Kendrick lyrically is one of the best out now. He is just saying lets elevate the game back to what it was in the 90s and early 2000s.

    112. I like Lamar And Cassidy bcuz they paint a picture and you understand the story. I never liked Joell he out raps hisself. He the worst member in Slaughter House. Shit sound like a fuckin woman his voice too squeeky.

    113. The thirsty ass nigga want attention. He aint even on nobodys top 20 list. This the most attention he will ever get in his boring career. FOH!!!!!! Ortiz a fuckin nobody jealous of a lil nigga poppin.

    114. “The elite can get it too, you all fit under my feet/ You all victims/ All chitlins when a nigga trying to eat” Holy shit that’s dope as f**k!!! Go in Joell!! Boriqua!! #YAOWA

    115. Obvious that Ortiz that was left by Aftermath couldnt stay out and had to say something to the greatest from aftermath now – King Kendrick Lamar

      1. King Lamar? Not only is he not the best on that label, that title already belongs to someone else on the label, King Mathers

    116. Kendrick’s verse was still off the chain though. He’s doing the game a favor but he def looks like he’s sitting on a golden throne the way these guys are replying

      1. Lupe shit was on another level. Comprehension needs to be on something different. Metaphors where complex. Kinda hard to decipher.

    117. GIVE ME A CHANCE
Youtube is all about finding new artist, & though I been rapping for a while im still consider a new artist. I just want my music heard thats all, im not looking for no record deal, getting famous ‘r anything like that.! so please just spare a few sec. to check me out, & if you like what you heard please SUBSCRIBE so ill know you actually listen & support
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzBh55tD_eg

      1. Not true, everyone who knows who slaughterhouse and Joell Ortiz is already knows about Kendrick… but people that know Kendrick Lamar from mainstream and the radio don’t know Joell so he’s only marketing these guys

    118. I like Joell he kept it hip hop. I still dont like SH that shit wack. Im from the west but I cant listen to Crooked I he sucks worse than Joe. Royce need to select better beats he top 5 IMO.

      1. You’ve just said one of the most ridiculous statements I’ve ever heard… You need to seriously go back and listen to Crooked’s work. If you can honestly sit here and say that Slaughterhouse is whack or that Crooked I sucks, you need to stop listening to hip-hop and go back on your Justin Bieber shit or something. It’s people like you that make me understand why hip-hop is in it’s current state. Seriously. Kill yourself.

    119. Does not matter how good these responses or disses are. Its all about makin music that has replay value. nobody wants to bump a diss track its boring. seems like these people dissing should focus their energy on makin good music. anyway thats wut this was about. its competition and it aint relevant unless you are selling records.

    120. finally something direct… for a battle verse, he did his thing. it felt lackin when he went off topic but he got that shit back. 4/5
