    1. It’s good. It’s not overly complicated and quite relaxed – almost old-school Lupe Fiasco lyricism.

    2. GOD DAMN MORE NIGGAS STUNTIN ON MY BITCHASS, GOD DAMN I’M A BROKE HOE DICKRIDING YOUNG MONEY FAGGOT.

    3. You dumb black zombies and white trolls wont like this but this shit is on point

      1. Drake best rapper alive troll is so funzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…Yawn..zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..Sleeep…zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

    4. this nigga rapping about animals like a fruitcake. Is there any wonder why no1 will ever take him seriously and he will never be on drakes level

      1. Say’s the man who starts his pathetic day with a spot of trolling from his mom’s basement using the tag-line

        “Drake best rapper alive ”

You my friend are a sad CUNT who needs to step away from the laptop , leave mom’s basement, get some fresh air , Meet a girl or (man) if that’s your thing and make mom proud..

It’s time to prove Dad and those teachers wrong and you can make something of your pitiful life it’s in your hands .. You can do it were all routing for YOU !!

    5. Used to be a huge Lupe fan but his beat selection is garbage…production on this has no soul, no vibe, no catchiness…Lupe is gonna be this generation’s Nas…great lyrics, crappy beats

      1. i love how people comment on message boards like their opinion actually matters to the outcome of a particular artist or song.

      2. Seems like your opinion of music is very one sided music can be anything you want it to be and quit dick riding drake he’s good but he will never be a legend like dre, em, biggie, etc. he talks about what all rappers talk about today. The same shit. I miss variety and that’s why I can vibe with this

      3. Not really sure why Drake was brought up here…? Kind of sounds like you’re the ex that got broken up with that hasn’t moved on. Agreeing with the Dre Em and Biggie stuff but if you want variety in your life switch hands when you fap to some weak beat like this

      4. ^^^YAWN^^^^ATTENTION SEEKING ^^^HATES THE SONG BUT HAS COME BACK TO THE SAME PAGE AGAIN ^^^ ATTENTION SEEKING WHORES ARE SO FUNNY ^^^^

      5. @lmao– this aint twitter, im not expectin no celebs to see this, im not expectin a response, this is a chat room for hiphop fans to say what they like or dont like and i have an opinion to..idgaff if anyone cares what i say. i love hiphop so ill voice my shit. fuck what the artist, label, dickriders or haters say

    6. Beat and lyrics are on point fuck all the same old same old trap loving small minded idiots . If all you want is trap beats and simple lifestyle rap it’s not hard to find simply Google French Montana and all your musical dreams will come true

    7. Great shizz,
      please more from lupe!!

He told good message in a world full of fuckn
      hate lovers..
TRe shining light in a dark affected zombieland.

      1. there is already an american terrorist 2 and 3…but for a fake tracklisting it looks better then just about any real tracklisting out

    9. Beat is trash. Too many Lupe Stans defending this shit is why he keeps going in on this trash.

      2/5 for the lyrics only

    10. i tried listening because dude used to have a black belt…

ohhh man. this dude done feel off after his second album. this dude need kanye on the track to sound good. fall back lupe d*ck riders… this is corny rap

    11. Landlocked as a hammock on a rail road….

      wooo

this is some mind work man lupe is really the best in the rap game i aint even a stan this guy will OUT rap everybody in the game…. EVERYBODY… this beat dope af too i see him rapping over radiohead but most of you illiterate niggas wouldnt know tht

    12. Why do people keep complaining about his beat selection? Why cuz he doesn’t have enough hi-hats or someone saying “Mike Will” before the beat drops? People need to shut the fuck up and stop whining so damn much. I can pretty much smell the estrogen coming from your comments smh.

    13. “Sitting heavy like spaghetti in the belly of a wise guy,
Who let these G’s out the PI-STY?”

      Dope.

Minimal beat so you can just sit and try to understand just how over your head he’s going.

    14. lupe kills this way over peoples heads… dudes not corny at all he one of the only few rappers who isn’t corny corny is bitches love sosa hahah

    15. amazing punchlines and layered meanings, solid lyrics, and a matching atmospheric beat. listen to whatever you want to, but no matter what way you look at it hip hop needs guys like lupe.

    16. Lupe is not going over everyone’s head. Only those stagnant niggas! Those who stopped thinking or let radio think for them. Get your knowledge weight up!

    17. Listeners of rap seem to not be educated enough to understand these lyrics. Read a book, this shit is dope.

    18. no doubt lupe is a dope lyricist. Dude is one of the most in depth and imaginative rappers to ever live. Just wish he could find some better production. Haven’t heard many beats ive really enjoyed from him since The Cool

      1. Has it occurred to you that this is NOT an album track? If he had lifted the beat off another rapper, no-one would bat an eyelid but because it’s from another genre you want to dial 911?

      1. Makes a lot of sense now why hip hop is in such a fucked up state and full of mindless drones like Ross,French,Waka … ETC

      2. that is horse shit. Seen that same bullshit years before this. No names no specifics because it didnt happen. Good fairytale though

      3. Big business has always colluded with each other why do you think it would not be the same with private run correction facility’s ..

People aren’t us stupid as you think we saw the same with the Big banks and the bail outs …

Over the past 15 years the prison population for certain demographics has increased for fold .

Just a look at the current hip hop landscape says definitely doesn’t smell right .

Let people read it and make their own decisions

P.S I saw you said something similar earlier when someone mentioned the link …

Why are you so bothered if people read it or not ?

      4. @ 2nd anon, I posted this earlier because I thought it was interesting and was worth a read and I wasn’t sure if I believed it or not ..

But after reading your post I will now be sure to post in as many places as possible to let people make their own rational decisions .

I also don’t know why you said you read it years ago it only came to light last May 2012 do a Google search if you disbelieve me !

That debunks your argument in my eyes to be honest !

      5. this was all about control and if you think about rap music at the time this meeting took place it make sense but i dont see it happening these days. really interesting read

    19. THIS IS THE DEEPEST HIP HOP SONG I’VE EVER HEARD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. WTF LUPE KILLED THIS SHIT. IT GOT SOOOOOOOO MANY LEVELS TO IT.

    20. gotta give it a couple of spins b4 you realize how masterful this track is.

Carrera is in rare form…Form Follows Function

    21. I think this beat/siging vocals are from an Atoms For Peace album. It’s Thom Yorke from Radiohead’s side project. Dope choice by Lupe

    22. “cut down the trees, we need the axe handles”

Thats a really sick metaphor for the way society justifies itself.

    23. lupe is one of the best to ever do it, true genius. fuck every single hater or anyone claiming he’s “dumb”, or “been stupid” go read the book animal farm, and them 1984 and maybe you can start to figure out who the fuck you even are. lupe has the ability to say more real shit in one verse then most people have said in their life

    24. hey this shit is the fuckin truth. Lupe’s back on form, anyone who says otherwise you a damn fool.

    25. He raps the truth on wack beats. If its gonna get his views out their fuck it right.

      1. I’d rather hear the truth on wack beats than bullshit on catchy beats. we got too much of the latter goin on

    26. Someone please explain “landlocked like a ham hock on a railroad”, cause rap genius can’t.

      1. Land lock generally means “land having no navigable route to the sea”

Ham Hock is the cheap part of a pig, think pig leg/ankle . Obviously you know what railroad is ? ..I will let you work out the metaphor ..Because honestly I don’t know .

But sounds more mystical than these lyrics from “Mr Ross”

Now I’m at the dealer with the worst credit

Got a yellow carat now I smoke lettuce

Let her count my bread she a bank teller

        Can you keep a secret ? I’m a rich nigga !

      2. thats because its a shitty line. Lupe is a lyrical beast and I’ll give it to him that this song is dope with the extended animal metaphors, but that line is retarded and makes no sense.

      3. I wear the *** like a girdle

Bulletproof car got me feelin’ like a turtle, s***

These n*** ain’t satisfied ’til they get ***, you hear me?

Yeah and I’ma G, you don’t know a muthaf*** thang ’bout me

I tell you one muthaf*** thang ’bout me

*** I got so much money on me

      4. the theme in that line is connection. landlocked is the land that circles the sea.

hamhock = what connects the pig’s foot to the leg

railroad connects the train who is LOCKED to the land

      5. I interpret it as someone chained down to train rails, possibly a cop(pig=ham). The land lock explains being chained down and its a railroad. But hamhock.. still a little unsure.

    27. I love it, but they should have eq’d that guitar loop-it’s annoying.Too Much Mids- Other than that, nice track.

      1. they’re both nice, they vary in levels of consistency. right now Lupe is the more consistent out of the two. but only cause Kendrick is featuring on every mo’fucker’s beat while Lupe drops one beat a month.

but Lupe’s slightly stronger on punchlines while Kendrick excells in the storytelling. Kendrick def has the better flow. Lupe is more conscious. they should really do a song together soon

      2. Ima big lupe fan but kendrick is kill every track hes on. And spitting toe to toe with J doesnt need to be slept on….

      3. You can’t just say Kendrick is better than Lupe. They both are in different stages of their careers, Lupe is going on to his Fifth album and Kendrick just got started so he’s naturally more hungry. Kendrick is still proving himself that’s why he goes hard on every track. Lupe was killing all his features too when he was a newcomer like Kendrick. And @LupeFan don’t forget Kendrick wasn’t the only one to body Jay on a track, do you remember “Pressure”? lol. Plus it doesn’t make sense to compare them, their styles/flows are totally different.

      4. I think you need to listen to jays verse on “pressure” again if you think he got bodied. Track was underwhelming anyway. Agree that you can’t fairly compare Kendrick and lupe though, both are beasts In their own regard

      5. Kendrick wants to be Lupe.. Lupe made it cool to be an intelligent rapper and Kendrick is out here acting like he’s saying some profound shit when he’s really just talking..lol. Do some thinking before talking, typical Kendrick dick ridahh..

    28. hey Lupe can you teach our politics class next september? I feel you’d make an entertaining teacher

    29. nobody can do what Lupe does, you can fill pages of microsoft word with his quotables. fuck these niggas talkin about the beat, he wants you to focus on his words period

    30. people act like lupe is the only one to ever write deep lyrics. foh, if anything his are trying too hard.

      1. your favorite rapper ain’t gettin enough love, we know

trying too hard is a sorry excuse for lyricism going over your head

      1. How many people you know gonna read a book to understand the lyrics of an irrelavent niggas song? Just being real.

      2. @clevelandchief: that’s the whole point, I think. not like Lupe expects you to go out and read a book to get his song, more like he expects you’ve already read the book cause it’s fucking Animal Farm..

    31. HIP HOP HAS BEEN DUMBED DOWN FOR TO LONG WE NEED RAPPERS WITH BRAINS …SO THAT HIP HOP DOESN’T TURN TO MUSH

      1. You should read this article

        hiphopisread./2012/04/secret-meeting-that-changed-rap-music.html

    32. I used to love him but he became pretty bad, lyrically it’s ok, nothing more and his flow is wack on that song
      2/5

    33. how is this a wack beat? you all are clearly ignorant to good music, if Mike WIll or Young Chop didn’t make it, its not good? Trap Beats aren’t the only good beats, ignoramuses. Lupe’s lyrics are clearly going over your head so why even comment on what you can’t understand. You sound like little kids telling their parents they don’t like vegetables even though they’ve never tasted them. GROW UP. & OPEN YOUR MIND

      1. Wow. Presumptuous much? Bet you think you’re the only one out there with an eclectic taste in music.

      1. ((doesn’t suit you guys)) what you mean blacks are unable to be intellectuals..white fag What are you doing in hip-hop site !

    34. This isn’t lupe’s beat but he does a phenomenal job with the song, which as actually “Ingenue” by Atoms for Peace. Damn, he went in.

    35. You gotta wonder, who’s the cattle, who’s the sheep, who claims to be the wolves, who are the wolves in sheep’s clothing, You Got To Wonder.

    36. Lupe isn’t from this planet. He does things on the mic that NO ONE else can touch. Pure wordplay and mic skills. M.C.
