    1. Mother fucking deep—gunz, yeah look where they fucking get you and dont give me that guns dont kill people, people kill people bullshit—ask this gunner if he meant to cap a 6 month old, YOU CANT DO THAT SO ACCIDENTALLY WITH ANY OTHER WEAPON THIS SHIT IS DISGUSTING.

    2. FUCK all the TRAP RAPPERS, GUN TOTERS, HARD DEALERS, PRISON SYSTEM GLORIFIERS , AND ALL AROUND HIPHOP CULTURE/HUMANITY RUINERS.

      LUPE 1ST 15TH!

      1. wtf is wrong with you you fuckin tard? cant you see he is doing completely the contrary. specially coming from lupe which is against all these shit. u need to get fucked

    3. Lupe needs to get into politics after he retires from music. We need leaders like him. Plus, he may be the GOAT

    4. Great message, RIP Jonylah. This is Lupe at his best right here. If anyone complains about the production on this one, they deserve a swift kick in the nuts.

    5. Woah..just woah..how can you be so negative and twisted as to suggest that he is trying to capatilise of this tragedy..throughout his career Lupe has been trying to make a change and help those around him. You really need to look around you at the world and realise not everybody is greedy and self centred some of us are genuine. RIP Jonylah

      1. Exactly. Most Americans are twisted inbred imbeciles who think that way. They also don’t like people with the name “Muhammed” like Lupe’s real name. They ask “how come he doesn’t blow himself up, isn’t that what they do?”

    6. Man, Chicago is so fucked up. If slaying a 6 month old is not a wake up call for that city, then I don’t know. Disgraceful.

    7. This is what hip hop was meant for
Not just rims, the benz, pantyless hoars
Countless hours of pain and all you talk is 2 chains?
Not me to complain but shit just dont add up, I find this strange

    8. NIGGAS DONT KNO HOW BAD OUR CITY IS UNTIL U ACTUALLY WALK THROUGH THE JUNGLE AND DONT FEEL SAFE.. THERE IS NO PLACE TO ESCAPE TO BECAUSE THIS IS THE PLACE WE CALL HOME… ITS SAD THAT THIS TRAGEDY HAPPENED AND ITS EVEN SADDER THAT THE KILLER IS STILL AT LARGE… FUCKIN COWARD I HOPE U BURN IN THE PITS OF HELL

    9. funny thing is as i am listening to this beautiful song i also can see a link to lil wayne’s track “rich as fuck”. then i understand why sometimes i can hate rap so much

      1. I agree. Of course then kids would see the stark difference in talent. Big Brother don’t want that.

      2. There are some crap rappers on those labels, but some of them, just because they ain’t conscious doesn’t mean they can’t spit dope ass bars. Pusha T, for example. Heck, I’d even put Gunplay, Rick Ross, and Drake up there as quality rappers (at times), despite their cliche and degenerate content.

    10. More artists like Lupe are needed in this world, one’s who can relate to situations and shed a positive light and not glorify acts like the killing of Jonylah… RIP

    11. a baby girl got killed, and all you niggas care about is “lupe back” or “fuck ymcmb” what’s wrong with yall, man like for real.

    12. We gotta remember that the message of this song dosnt apply just to those in Chicago or America the rest of us have to change also and yes Lupe made a brilliant track but he dosnt want you to focus on that fact, he wants you to realise whats going on around you and do something about it because the only ones who can change the world are you and me. RIP

    13. wdf? lmao, worst song of da year. Lupe Fiasco iz juss a pop-rapper, a fake gangsta/skater. ma nigga Chief Keef ethered diz bitch azz niggu. p.s. Whoopi Goldberg wantz her face back. biatch! YMCMB all day err day. swag

      1. dude just cause you couldnt follow the lyrics or understand the subject matter doesnt mean you should come take a shit on the song in the comment section. go learn yoself bro

    14. Today I said earlier at my job that I have been a fading Lupe fan, but Lupe made me regain my recognition of his creativity and brilliance that we need in hip hop…longlivehiphop

    15. this is not only GREAT, but it’s SO GOOD that it makes up for that other song he dropped a week or 2 ago. I’ll give this song 6 out of 5 stars if you include this on the next album 🙂

    16. “where you bumped into Hadiya teaching art”

That line really got me in tears. Two collateral victims in nearly two months.

      RIP Hadiya Pendleton

RIP to baby girl Jonylah Watkins

    17. damn the whole composition is ill..i keep freestyleing to this beat to..we need more lupe

      @pangaeaemcee

    18. Wonderful song, trying to encourage people to realize gun issues. How many people need to die before America understand and take a stand about Gun violence. Society need to change from Africa to Asian, Europe to Australia, North America to South America.

    19. This piece right here is what you call timeless. I swear, people are so numb these days. It’s all about television, video games, and social networking. But when heartbreaking shit happens, we dismiss it so lightly. If we could just take 1 hour out of the day and focus that 1 hour on another person, a friend, family member, or even a stranger, that would be a great start towards bringing society together and eventually move towards evolving as one complete human race. But as long as there are differences and divisions (racism, religion, hate), we won’t see that. We worship idols and celebrities instead of worshiping the one true thing in this world, which is love. We need to realize that we are all bound together through one consciousness, and truly we are all one, no matter where you are from or what color your skin is, or what religion you practice. At the end of the day, each race has “bad” people but each race also has something to bring to the table. We all really want the same things at the end of the day.

    20. Amazing, wow…listened to this song…and honestly just got me on another level. Dude is amazing. Made me cry.

    21. The best lyricist in hip hop today I don’t give a fuck what anyone says. This shit is powerful Lupe is going down as one of the best to do it no doubt.

    22. This is how I was hoping his album would sound. What’s the bet this was produced by Soundtrakk? Lupe is at his best over Soundtrakk beats.

    23. ITS A SHAME HE COULDNT JUST SPEAK THROUGH HIS MUSIC EVERY TIME. WHEN HES NOT COMING OFF AS A RELIGIOUS NUT HES ONE OF THE BEST

      1. Really whats the point of your comment .

Writing in all caps talking bullshit to get some attention .

Just appreciate their are artists/rappers talking about more than the basic bullshit 8/10 rappers spit about

    24. what a hot song..one of the best of the songs..this shit right here is what true rappers do..big ups lupe

    25. Work and plan a perfect verse
      Then burst like a person
That jerked from a circus cannon
      Then landed to the earth

    26. Didn’t listen to the song. When I heard about this tragedy, all that came to mind was B.I.G.’s last verse on Somebody Gotta Die…

      1. Just listened. Black people (American and Canadian) need to wake up. 6 months old people. She could’a saved herself…

    27. This is why lupe is a top mc of today because he talks about the real and doesn’t add on to the B.S.

    28. C’mon Lupe, sell this on itunes and donate all the proceeds to the family if you really want to do somethin

    29. THIS IS TRUE HIP HOP!!!
Lupe is one of the few that have kept hip hop alive.
now days rappers just rap about money, drugs, girls, etc…
who said you have to rap about those things to make a good song?
keep doing your thing Lupe! Please dont make this upcoming album the last Hip Hop album, Keep them coming.
(P.S. Lupe said that his upcoming album was going to the last hip hop album he makes)http://www.xxlmag.com/xxl-magazine/2012/09/lupe-fiasco-chief-keef-twitter/

    30. Amazing, absolutely amazing. The definition of a real lyricist, glad someone has the heart to acknowledge such a tragic passing.

    31. now I wonder if actually did anything for the family or will donate the procedes to the family…cause a song is cool and all but ummm….

      1. Shut the fuck up!! It’s more than your dumb ass is doing. Stop acting like you’re better than everyone else.

    32. Who rated this below a 5?? music with a cause!
shout out to all the muslim conscious rappers out there!
-Yasiin, Wasulu, Planet Asia, Brother Ali, The Jack, J5 & all others

    33. Obama > 2pac > Nas > Lupe >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>….. Lil Wayne, 2chainz, Drake, My Trash Can, Dog Shit,The World Bank, The Devil, Soulja Boy, Ignorant poor people, You if you disagree, High School Dropouts, Gang members, Those who just sit and not fight for anything important.

    34. SHED A TEAR IN YA HEART AS YOU LISTEN TO THIS ONE!! THANKS TO REAL ARTIST MY MUSIC WILL NEVER DIE!!!

    35. RIP Jonylah. What a great track, however, it should haven’t been made. This disgusting violence has to end. Great respect to Lupe for this. This is the Lupe everyone wants to see on every track. This is comparable to ‘The Cool’ Lupe.

    36. Thank you Lupe. The only rapper to acknowledge and respond to this tragedy in a positive manner…A real man speaks on the reality of his environment and calls for change to eradicate injustice….

    37. FFT.. All these rappers claiming they the new 2pac arent even close. 2pac was more that a thug, he was militant acting, revolutionary minded, poetically soulful, and contradictory human. He spoke up for the ills of our community and did it in a way that u didnt feel like u were being preached to. Most of these wanna be new Pacs would never put out a song like this or speak on the things Lupe speaks on. I have met Pac a couple times in my life. Both times had nothing to do w 2Pac and everything to do w Tupac. There’s a difference.

The 1st time in ’93 he was reading poetry at Morningside HS in Inglewood. After he finished he came to speak w my pops (who created the movie South Central) about working w him. He was the most humble articulate thug I have ever met. Having watched this man on TV and movies I expected so much negative that I was awestruck by how effin brilliant he was. Since his death I havent heard a rapper come close to encompassing Tupac and/or 2Pac. Lupe is that for me.. He’ll say real shit and not give af if it makes him more money as long as you get the point. He points the finger at those who needs to be called out. Some of his shit is over the heads of most, but you know you touched a nerve when they try hard to tear you down. When “they” go over everything you say and do w binoculars and try to paint you as crazy. He is the voice for those “they” dismiss. I fux w Lupe.. I just choose to forget he put out Lasers and keep it 100.

      1. Real Talk. Pac was more aggressive/confrontational and Lupe’s more diplomatic in his approach. Both go about their beliefs in different ways but they’re both for similar causes. Both were/are outspoken so they’re definitely gonna be seen as controversial. And a lot of people try to write off Lupe as being crazy, especially because of his views on Obama. But Lupe does address certain issues that need to be tackled. I may not agree with everything he says or does, but you can tell that his heart is in the right place.

    38. U can’t say u can not compare pac nd Lupe b/c “2pac” was a thug. 2pac was never a thug he only hung around thugs. 2pac was a ballerina when he was a teen and on top of that there are interviews with 2pac talking about how he was too scared to sell drugs he would rather rap. 2pac and Lupe have the same style of rapping about what real thugs did the only difference between them is Lupe has better metaphors, bars, and clarity to painting a picture with his words then pac did.

      1. Its crazy how Pac said it himself that he never got into any trouble until he got into the music industry. I guess he was actually better off being “in the streets” and probably would of lived much longer if he hadn’t gotten “in the industry”.

      2. Yo I fuck with Lupe but your getting too ahead of yourself. hood niggas in the streets dont bump Lupes music. Sorry. EVERYONE BUMPS/BUMPED pac. why? his shit was more universal. Lupe might have more technical skills then Pac did but that’s never what Pac really relied on to become such a great artist. Pac knew how to communicate raw emotion through his voice in a way Lupe never will be able to. Its a certain FEELING you get in your soul when listening to pac spit, you knew his pain was REAL. He has an certain 4th dimension too his style outside of wordplay, similes, rhyming, flow. The only rapper I can think of to come close to what im talking about is DMX. But Lupe is far from this. And gets too preachy sometimes almost a “holier then thou” vibe and that really turns alot of people off. That being said this is an amazing song and im sure Pac would like it. their two different types of artist so lets just enjoy their music.

      3. At the end of the day Lupe will NEVER have the worldly influence Pac had with his short lived career so fall back bruhh bruhh you disrespecting a legend right now that lupe LOOKS UP TOO. Lupe never made an song better then Ghetto Gospel in his life. shutup

      4. NEVER Can Compare Those Two, Are you stupid 2pac is Immortal & He was a Thug Idiot it was tatted on his stomach, They both just have a conscious side to their rap but no where near comparable

    39. Damn, I never thought of it before reading the posts below, but I can definitely see the Lupe-Tupac comparisons, especially in Pac’s earlier, pre-Death Row music. Lupe is easily the better emcee of the two, while Pac was clearly more in tune with the street ethos, but once you look beyond the obvious superficial differences you’re left with their music, and musically, they seem to have the same frame of reference, political orientation, form of social consciousness, sense of community, and interest in social justice.

However, this is true of a lot of other rappers as well (Dead Prez and Immortal Technique come to mind), but Lupe and Pac stand out more.

    40. Subject, flow, and lyricism has never been a Lupe issue, its been production. I love when you can zone out to a Lupe song on repeat. Too many of his songs you hear what he has to say then move on to another song.

    41. This is the kind of shit I miss hearing from Lupe.

I haven’t heard a song like this from him in 6 years. Good to know he’s still got it.

    42. Ya know, Lupe may have his antics (similar to Ye, but not really bitch like, though) but he’s one hell of a artist. Never truly a dull moment in music.

    43. the last verse hit right fuckin here! “didn’t realize that you saved yourself” damn Lupe keep at it please

    44. Sigh. “Truth be told, if lyrics sold…” This man Lupe has to be one of the five greatest poets in American history… No, seriously.
