    1. J. Cole never says anything. He just uses a fake emotional tone and recites a bunch of mostly-repeated phrases without any cohesion. There nothing novel or otherwise interesting in his lyrics — he’s a fraud rapper.

      1. Yep, that’s a good example of something he would say in a track. Basically just phrases others have already said one after another without any substance. J. Cole has no substance, sorry. Or, go ahead, prove me wrong, what are his best lyrics from this song? What are the messages?

    2. Cole went the raw route for his first single kind of reminds me of the Who Dat route he took. Once again though this might not work if he cares about selling. There’s nothing wrong with dumbing it down for a single. All in all this track is dope.

    3. coles got the most haters lol. the hate is so irrational haha. just get over it man this song is dope its ok to admit it

    4. Can’t appreciate good music even when it’s right in front of you. This one right here is gonna take a while to sink in. 5*

    5. J COLE HAS NEVER BEEN SO RIGHT ”THEY LL NEVER PLAY THIS ON THE RADIO” …OF COURSE U DUMB ASS MULLATO WANNABE NIGGA UR LEAD SINGLE IS WEAK AS FUC. AT LEAST HAVE SOME MELODY IN IT. ABOUT TO GET REAL COLD THIS WINTER LITTERALLY CUZ THIS IS GON FLOP. I SAY 100K FIRST WEEK. JAY BETTER CAPITALIZE ON WILLOW AND RITA ORA CUZ THIS MULLATO AINT GONNA MAKE HIM MONEY. COLD WORLD!

    6. Lol, everybody judging the album from 1 song, thats like judging a book with reading just a chapter or looking at a movie for about 5 minutes. You dont get the full view so you cant judge quickly. everybody be judging so quickly like calm ur estrogens fucking pussies

      1. Yea Cole Kendrick and Jon Connor are my favourites outta these new guys. Haven’t heard much Sha Stimuli i’ll have to check him out if your puttin him on a level with those three.

      2. Sha stimuli can rap, be he’s kinda boring. And his presence aint strong enough. And his voice aint really interestin….jus my opinion…

    7. J. Cole- Miss America: Different, alternating (what I expected). Solid chorus. Nice beat. Spitting deep lines. Instruments harmonizing excellent. Good job Cole.

    8. this is that shit that was badly missing from good kid mad city. hard core rebellious social commentary.

Cole just made me a huge fan. this song is fucking amazing!

    9. This is good music from J.Cole. I’ve only really admired his music from a distance but hopefully this album reels me in a bit closer.

    10. some of ya’ll comments is super corny! Just listen. If you like the song, go buy it. If not, then listen to something else and buy that. Stop with the corny a** comments.

    11. This song is dope as hell, I listened to this bout 12 times last night when it leaked.. If you don’t understand what Cole is trying to say, go look the lyrics up on RapGenius.. Shit is crazy, but I hope this nigga album don’t be on no Lupe/save the world, revolutional type shit, I mean, that conscious shit is cool, but I don’t want every song to be like that. All the songs Cole been releasing lately been on some conscious type shit, I’m A Fool, Get Free ColeWorld, Miss America, Crooked Smile etc.. I’m just saying, I want to hear some Cant Get Enough, Work Out, Rise And Shine, Cost Me A lot type shit, ain’t nothing wrong with a radio friendly song…

    12. Lyrics are very average, as always. This bland dude brings nothing to hiphop. I also find the timing of this song to be interesting….I think hes insecure about his place in hiphop because of Kendrick and is trying to get the spotlight back on him.

    13. J Cole is booty juice b. Son brings nothing to the table. Its like Jay-z bringing home the popeyes chicken, nas bringing home the watermelon and grits, and eminem brining home some KFC side dishes, but this J cole dude coming home a bag of skittles and shit. Na mean? Nobody want that shit. At least this little nigga kendick lamar stopping by to pick us up some bufflo wings at wing stop. We appreciatethat effort. He can come eat with the real niggas. But J Cole needs to fall back and go back to school.

    14. I was a little disappointed with J Cole’s first album. But he’s gonna come wit it on this second one. But if only he could get more god damn credit for his fucking beats

    15. J Cole is my favorite rapper from New York, and this song is so sick. But as much as I love J Cole, if it weren’t for Drake’s song ‘In The Morning’, I would have never heard of J Cole. So he needs to thank Drake for where he’s at today. Can’t wait for the new album, But I still think J Cole’s best work to date was his ‘Saturday Night Live’ mixtape. Only flaw with J Cole is the producers he works with. I think J Cole should learn how to make his own beats so he can get a better sound. #Cold World!

      1. you clearly know nothing about J. Cole .. you mean Friday Night Lights? and he produces almost all of his work nowadays. and also he’s from NC

      2. I really hope this a joke. Cole is from NC. He produces his own music. His mixtape was Friday Night Lights. And he does not have to thank Drake for anything.

      3. this kids retarded and what makes him caucasian im white and i gaurantee i know more about 90 percent of rappers than you do

      4. Don’t mean to hate or nuthin. but most of these guys are right J.cole came from South Carolina and he first started producing as he came to the Big Apple. And yah Friday Night Lights was way better than sideline btw;)

      1. KENDRICK LAMAR VS J COLE is what yall want…

        if LIL B beats FLOCKA

LIL B VS J COLE is possible

        or…better yet..

        WIZ KHALIFA VS J COLE..”dead even”…TDC_C

    16. #THE NO TROLL ZONE….

      J COLE…13/15..FLOOD!….very V.WILLIAMS(first black MISS AMERICA!)…..J COLE CHEER UP better!…TDC_C

      1. quit comparing these nighas!! Wait to they hop on the same track and spit wit each other before comparing them! They two different artists.

    17. I SWEAR YOU PEOPLE WITH YOUR OUTLANDISH COMMENTS MAKES A REAL BROTHA WANNA SMACK THE IGNORANT SHIT OUT OF YOU REAL TALK WE NEED TO DO AWAY WITH THE DUMB DEAF AND BLIND BUT THEN WE’D BE OUTNUMBERED BUT FUCK IT 300 SOILDIERS

    18. Nah, They better play this on the radio!!! Damn, this is the real Cole. Not Sideline Story Cole. Born Sinner, can’t wait.

    19. Last time he said that Columbia was pushing radio singles. I doubt anything has changed being that it’s still 2012 and they’re still a major label this is for the die hards but I’m sure he’ll have to drop something radio friendly along the way and more likely will see a march-april release than jan. If I had to judge the beat as a standalone maybe it wouldn’t be so great but as ca ohesive piece this is good makes me think “he’s back” but like I said we’ll probably see the radio single down the road

    20. Comment section stans and A&R’s can’t even distinguish between the two on here but this is good, coming from a disappointed by Cole World fan

    21. this shit is nice!! just the tip of the iceberg..hopefully this nigha has a lot to offer in the rest of the of the iceberg!!

    22. Real Dope track….I see alotta people really torn between J.Cole & Kendrick Lamar. Both are dope ass artists, From a lyrical standpoint tho…..Kendrick OWNS Cole but content wise, Both bring some Fresh content…Tho I think Cole is alittle full of himself…..He still has to show us how GREAT he really is cuz his first album was lackluster, but all in all….Dope Track def a nice way to showcase the skills…The 305 SALUTES This joint

      1. Really.. Cole Songs Like “How High” and “See it to Believe it” are Great, Just Can Vibe and Relate.. I Feel Cole Can be Just as Lyrical (Dead Presidents Freestyle) and (A Star is Born).. but, He Probably is More Content.. Kendrick Has a Hunger, Like Kanye When He First Started!

    23. All the fools that left “Diggy ethered this guy” comments when the album artwork was released can stick to listening to Diggy…I’ll stick to stuff like this.

    24. J.cole is starting to sound more and more like the Game when it comes to his voice. Anyways this was alright I guess, I just never realy felt his music like that.

    25. Cole vs this dude, cole vs that dude….When did hiphop turn into a competition? It’s not a sport, its music

    26. Anybody else think J Cole would sound nice in Slaughterhouse? I think Slaughterhouse should take out Yellow Wolf and replace him with J Cole. J Cole is one of the best lyricals in rap today, and that’s why he should be in a super group. Nobody else is really holding down New York like J Cole is. I think him and Kendrick are the best today, but Cold World Story wasn’t better than the Control System album from Kendrick. Maybe they can form as a group, they make a good duo.

    27. Yeah, this is that cole that we wished was on cole world…probably not a good idea for a first single but thats up to him and rocnation

      @chrisromanmusic #FuckYourBeats

      1. Alot of these guys have the ability to make meaningful music but choose not to and just go the money grab route hence selling out. With a post like this tho, can you really blame them?

    28. The “loose” snare is probably my least favorite and probably the least used among producers but Cole did a good job with it. I would shout from the rooftops that yall need to give my nigga more props for his production but it’s still inconsistent and I have yet to hear a beat from him on par with that Hiiipower beat but this is tough good job to bad tho we all now with today’s landscape this isn’t going to fly as a single so I’ll be waiting to check out what he’s cooked up for radio play, if anything.

      1. I Agree, but I Feel Wale Trying to be a “Hypebeast” and His Delivery is Horrible.. Still a Fan (Not Hating) but Wale Tries too Hard.. Like, He Has to Try and ,Make His Lyrics Flow.. Feel Me?

    29. i see Cole is switching up his delivers on his flow his content is sounding a lot like Kanye late registration era with his flow a lot lie Eminem marshall matthers lp era

    30. Please go to Rapgenius and look at the lyrics and the breakdown before you be quick to jump the gun. This isn’t your typical single.

    31. dope song after 1st listen but i h8 when rappers decide to put out music when their voice is shitty. Cole sounds like he’s sick or something, just sounds different unless he wanted to sound like he lost his voice a lil bit

    32. Wow decent music. Decent message. Decent beat. Fuck what anyone says cause they obviously listen to crapy Hip Hop and dont belong listening to this song in the first place.

    33. WTF? I cannot be jamming this with my ho in my ride.

”All i want for my birthday is a big booty ho”[In my 2chainz voice]

    34. Fuck this positive rap …Niggaz try being all intelligent and shit ..G.T.F.O …. No one gives a fuck except for white rap fans and black nerds

      1. Dumb ppl like you is what gives black folks a bad name!! Nigha not trying to be intelligent, maybe he just is intelligent! He refuse to make only materialistic music or d-boy music or dumb-downed music for simple-minded folks like you.

    35. J Cole tries so hard to be lyrical and deep, but he’s just not that intelligent…I know in his mind he thinks hes a Nas/Mos Def type rapper, but he’s more of an Obie Trice or Joe Buddens lol

      1. Introspection is a form of intelligence, perhaps one of the higher forms of intelligence . Don’t be scared because you don’t, introspect. Because you’d rather criticize another man’s intelligence other than you’re own. What is intelligence to you? Stating facts. ? Stating facts of social contexts, this bitch is more likely to this in this sensationalized context so I react like this to assure others I’m intelligent?

Joe Budden is one of the most introspective artists, lyricists, rappers, what have you. J. Cole is too. And that makes them intelligent in some/many regard(s). But you don’t have intelligence, or shouldn’t even suggest yourself as intelligent for suggesting another man’s form expression is inherently innate and from an introspective perspective because you rely on others to reiterate your form of intelligence: which are extroverts. Introverts tend to tend be better story tellers, tend to be educators, are more philosophically inclined and are independent minded, where as extroverts rely more on others, are socially dependent and interdependent on social logic and not their own. But he’s unintelligent. Ironically the guy did a song called fool, in which he unapologetically suggests his own stupidity and idiocy as a form of game, but you wouldn’t care to hear that to change your own perspective, unless another extrovert tells you. Extroverts pry and leech on the introverts, deprive them of sensibility and ridicule them for their own willful separation from the rest, but the irony in it is that they’re hated for their own unique sense of integrity and personal sense worth. Both of which I doubt you have, if you’re not around your homies, your boys. Those who are introspective should be treated with respect. Not to suggest extroverts shouldn’t either, the two can fluctuate and change up. But as Jay Electronica put it.,.., “I expect less respect from the introspect/ful-onto the next go”. Yes, respect should be quantified and respected in relation to the more introspective, the more “insightful” then the outspoken. And the irony in this is that by the time you, you stupid fuck, end up reading this? The guy who did his initial post “Anonymous” will try and find a way to sensationalize it introspectively, while hinting at a collective way to attack the sentimentality and not the knowledge. Kill yourself. Do Hip Hop and the rest the favor, the culture, by politely ending your life. You fucking leech.

      2. But know this, that, the next time you listen to a guy rapping, make sure to take into consideration his form of intelligence and not just the shit he’s saying, how he managed to get what he said and not what he said, or sadly, the sentimentality in how he said it.

A lot of people were considering Joe Budden a bitch, because he was willfully talking about introspecting himself, while pleading in this remorseful state of “how is it that I think this but you won’t” NOT YOU DON”T, but Will, NOT. Because you’re too infatuated with the numbers, you’re too infatuated with the style. You’re too infatuated with putting up a facade of what you think is real, to others who also think it’s real, while never ever really suggesting who might be realer. Or less real. At that.

But you like it, YOU like marveling in another man’s vulnerability, their essence of them willfully telling you how they’ve made it this far, as they tell you how they demonize those who didn’t want to seem them that far, and you tell yourself that, so long as you align yourself with the doubters, you’re identity will be validated. You’re thought process iterated, and your competency flattered.

So enjoy yourself. Hip Hop is not gonna change from the top, not immediately at least and if it is going to change slowly and gradually it’ll be from artists that are very introspective or unafraid to show vulnerability. While suckers, like yourselves, will idly hope to be recognized generically from superficially contrived lyricism, all while never introspecting. You’re insult to hip hop and you’re insult to the culture itself.

      3. You’re the type of dude that sees a guy with his head down, walking slow, and you probably think the dude’s feeling like shit and don’t even know he may very well be introspecting and politicking to himself without relying on somebody like you for reason, rationality or sensibility and might apprehensively react to you with compassion instead of bullshit passive agression or all out sorrow, to have a conversation that you initiate or initiated. But you get off on that shit, you think another man’s pain is a slight victory for yourself. Like he pulled out a white flag and planted it on your ass hoping you’d offer some resolve or clarity, when he’s scheming at your own faults lack of logicality. Kill yourself, or yourselves if this pertains to you. Hip Hop could be very fine without you.

      4. People are ashamed to be introspective let alone intelligent in a world that popularizes stupidity as the only medium of communication let alone expression. You don’t wanna have an intelligent conversation fine, but don’t put those who do on the sideline cause we don’t fuck with your stupidity. You wanna be smarter, cool, choose that. Be smart and wisen up so we smart dudes, the dudes that know how to not only politic, but also have coherent dialogue, don’t have to nod our heads like we’re fucking psychotic or delusional, because our standards of communication? Or not on par with your stupidity. Save us the bullshit sentiments of hoping we’re self-righteous, save us the bullshit logic of a lack of logic in social contexts, spare us that shit, and you could go and do whatever the fuck it is you do.

      1. Shut yo ass up! Wayne ol’ miscellaneous ass raping would get on here and talk about a whole bunch of irrelevant shit that doesn’t make ANY sense!!!

    36. This a deep song!! EVERYONE check out Ms. South Carolina competing for Miss America on dreamvillian.net. Look how dumb she is. To Cole…Ms. America!!!!

    37. YEA BITCHESS J.cole is back with more hit music it’s still a Cole World haters so make yourselves comfortable cause Cole going to be here for awhile ROC NATION all day FUCK WACK ASS DRAKE, Lil WAYNE, AND ALL OF THE YOUNG MONEY CREW they have nothing on J.Cole and THE ROC NATION CREW WE KILLS IT IN THIS HIP HOP GAME WE MAKE DICKRIDERS RIDE US EVERYDAY ALL DAY 28 LETTERS FOR U ROC NATION DREAMVILLE GOOD MUSIC……….WE IN THIS BITCH, WE IN THIS BITCH, WE IN THIS BITCH, WE GOT A SECTION FULL OF ROC NATION DICKRIDERS AND THEY BETTER SUCK GOOD ROC NATION DICK, LET’S TOAST IT UP TO THE SUCCESSFUL ROC NATION HIP HOP LIFE AND I MEAN THIS!!!!

    38. I think what Cole is trying to say is that music nowadays is going to shit because niggas like Wayne and Rick Ross talk about irrelevant shit and that gets radio play. But deep intellectual songs like this one will NEVER get radio play and thats his pain. More and more people are thinking about material shit hence “Miss America”. They got the looks but no brain. J cole gives us the brain, the knowledge and thats why ignorant niggas will never like this song and wil never support J Cole, whose music talks about things that matter in life like the system, abortion, struggles, pain, life, etc. Like if you notice, YMCMB fans are the most shallow and superficial people, because all they’re concerned with is money and hoes. Thats why my top 3 rappers are J cole, K-dot and EM. They (mostly) talk about shit that actually matters. J cole will never be as big as Wayne cuz of the shit he talks about, but thats okay, cuz if you listen to J cole, you listen to rel music. 5/5 I wish I could give 6/5

      1. The more you put lil Wayne on a pedestal for what he sounds like in contrast to artists you do like the sound of, the more you feed into the hype, unless you’re religiously belaboring it to the point of absurdity then don’t do it. Don’t condemn to appraise what you appreciate or you’ll never get anything sound from flourishing. You’ll just have a bunch of dudes capitalize on the condemnation, because condemnation is condemnation. People find ways to revel in something that’s morally dumbfounding. Especially if you’re self-righteously suggesting an alternative. Then you have idiots playing into that devil conundrum, Wayne included.

    39. overcoming the circumstances we hella rich! Cole got the REAL SHIT and he knows when to sprinkle in the materialistic shit but he doesn’t overdo it like most rappers. Nobody can touch Cole and Kendrick right now. Besides Nas of course

    40. How is this guy going to be the savior of hip hop and the future? Nothing special about him … he sounds like every other rapper i dont get his hype.

    41. cool sounding shit, drums sound like some black milk type shit thought…but one thing I dont like is the position niggas like the j coles and lupe fiascos of the culture occupy in hip hop…geek niggas who get to play both sides of the spectrum because of how divided the genre is and how dumb the fans taste in music is…one minute you a rebel next minute you a savior, next minute your a swag boy next minute your underground next minute your commercial…then you dont REALLY hold it down for the actual culture you dabble in this & that to find what works commercially so you can exploit the fuck out of it! kinda like kanye did when he 1st dropped, jacking the whole wu tang sound! and you “fans” are completely WORTHLESS! you wouldnt know ANY good music unless its on some top 5 list on the internet. as soon as you hear some good sounding shit like this you jump all over it like its the greatest thing ever when in fact there are artist who got the same sound but you dont check for em because its not on a major label or its not saturated in features and buzz…yall are just as much of the overall problem too…fuck it get mad then…say what I want too…

      1. Well that’s not gonna change, it’s a matter of weeding out the wack and changing the subject matter for those who want to stay in the game but suck

      2. good point but i think it really depends on what mood the artist is unless you talking bout 2 chainz or wakka or gucci, like wale is pretty concsious on some records but then on feats dumbs down his subject matter same with cole kendrick these so called “geeks” are doing what they can with what the industry will let them as for lasers I hope that was a fucking parody I think lupe put that out to mock the industry well i hope so anyways.

    42. Fuck the man, Uncle Sam I won’t sell your crack
I won’t fight your wars, I won’t wear your hat
I’mma pass your classes, I’mma learn your craft
I’mma fuck your daughters, I’mma burn your flag….J cole’s basically going against the system of young black men…the system is corrupt

    43. This shit is real hard! Cole spittin that real on here. It’s so sad that radio stations won’t play this!! i’m gonna call 979.9 tha box in houston and demand that they play this every fucking day until they play it.

    44. Not gonna lie i love cole but i wasnt feeling this. I like songs like sideline story and cole world better. Its ok i guess not up to my j cole standards

      1. You moron. How does someones opinion on a record consititute their political position. Its people like you that led to us having Obama in the white house in the first place, uneducated and ignorant voters. I am a firm believer in the right to vote yet you take advantage of that right and turned the presidential election of the US into a popularity contest. And after all that…cole world, no blanket. #Fucknigga

      2. if you listen to the lyrics you would understand my point. fuck obama fuck romney, the song is about beating the system that was produced to see him fail. #Romney supportin nigga

    45. J sole is one of the top 10 lyricist there has ever been in the hip hop/rap industry
      #real talk
j cole ALWAYS goes in, in EVERY song he has ever been on
      J. cole has made history and he has more to make
this is just the begining of j. cole

    46. it’s aight. it’s not as good, but I am certain this is not the best he has to offer. This is just a teasing track (hopefully)

    47. THe woman in the background is a nice addition to th production!! Keep em coming like this cole!! nice word play at the end of the first verse

    48. Damn! Confident ‘Born Sinner’ will be better than ‘Cole World: The Sideline Story’, which was a solid debut.

      J. Cole isn’t Kendrick Lamar, but Kendrick ain’t Cole either.
Both great artists in their own right. And hip-hop needs both!

    49. yo i meet j.cole last night

as soon as he seen me he was like ‘hol up who is that fly ass muthafucker over there’

he walked up and was like

“whudup yo u look like one fly muthfucka”

me not even knowing who this guy is im like

      “get off my dick homie”

      he like

“nah nah im j.cole i just seen lookin fly n shit and thought thats the muthafucka i wanna get high with.

      im like ” Aight”

we get to the hotel penthouse and as soon as the door opens u can smell the herpies i mean hoes errywhere he takes me to the back and pulls out a cornucopia of dope

me im chillin checking out what hes got, when all of a sudden he cranks Hard in the Paint screams “I AM CRAZY HORSE” and rails a hollywood

      hes like ” r

      1. The more niggas sayin
Cole the wrong one bringin the city shine
All he ever doin is paintin pictures of crime
Tellin stories of pain, paintin pictures of dope

    50. devil horns on the song logo while throwing up the “illuminati” hand sign?? these rappers using that shit to create controversy now… smh… its almost as bad as if they were actually involved in the illuminati.. fake ass wanna be ass sucka ass probably takes it in the ass face ass needs to go play in traffic ass bitch ass hoe ass monkey ass sucking dick and taking it in the ass, ass nigga… j-cole is a monkey *rick ross voice*

      1. of the century?? cole is nice, but hop off it… he aint the best thing since sliced bread.. in fact, hes not even close… good but not great… just like your schlong slurping abilaties.. good but not great.. ask your ma for tips fuck boy

    51. throwin up the illuminati hand symbol with the devil on his hand… im so sick of these rappers using that fuckin symbolism to create controversy.. knowin damn well they dont fuck with the illuminati… illuminati a bunch of power hungray dudes, concerned about ruling the world… aint no rapper fuckin with them…

      1. Why would Illuminati want anything to do with a bunch of rappers ?

Influencing black people is simple ..think about it your favorite rappers love to promote Caucasians products for free … Popping Bottles, Gay Fashion Designers , etc etc The Illuminati dont need rappers to influence the DUMB

      2. This once again proves that these Illuminati-conspiracy theorists are fucking idiots who actually have no idea what they’re talking about. Even if I am to accept your ridiculous premise, that hand gesture is symbol of warding off the “devil” – but the fact that you’ve completely ignored the substance of the song, which speaks out against the powers that be (according to you, the “Illuminati”), and went off on one about the aesthetics used on the single cover demonstrates that you have no interest in actually paying attention. Instead you opt for bullshit “symbolism” and pseudo-intellectual confirmation bias. Learn how to think. Fuckin’ hell.

      3. that symbol has many different meanings to many different people.. to generalize that it ONLY means to ward off the devil makes you an idiot… and i didnt ignore the substance of the song, i just didnt chose to comment on it.. i chose to comment on the fact that he is another one of the rappers who use symbolism to create controversy… and you accuse(sp) me of not thinking?? go suck a dick in traffic fuck boy… all the points you made were garbage, just like all of your mas fertalized eggs turned out to be…

    52. What If I Told You…

Believing that there is a group called the Illuminati is like believing that there is a group called the Bad Guys…
