    1. Best track off the album so far. I will be buying this album. Love that beat. One of the best tracks of the year. I thought Compton was disappointing. I expected more

    2. this is that terrible new sound…the new beats of todays rap. The beats that are bringing down the genre. This is weak and so is his voice/flow. Down with this shit..

      1. go listen to Wayne or Drake then faggot, sounds like more your speed, leave the real music to the rest of us who arent bottom feeders like you

    3. yo yall cant be serious with this rating. am i getting trolled? like i have no opinion of this dude, i was never hip on him. but this is soundclick quality rap

      1. actually you are the troll, this a great song and your negative opinion just fuels the faggotry of todays so called hip hop fans, you’d rather listen to some pop shit over a dance beat rather than ill hip hop with great lyrics.

      2. @goodmusic WTF you dont know anything about him. where are you getting this dance music pop information from? you just sound hurt

    4. love the beat and Kendrick spazzes on this, doesnt just stick to one flow, people who hate on this prefer some retarded punchlines or crying over a stripper type music

      1. and some people love to dickride.

i think you just have a hard time accepting that people dont like what you like. you must have been a spoiled kid who got everything he wanted and thought the world revolved around him. welcome to the real world.

      2. typical rebuttal, what does being spoiled have to do with me calling you faggots out on hating good music? you dont know me, you couldnt, this is the internet buddy

    5. man what the hell happened to kendrick? call me a hater but i’ve been following him for awhile, this is meh coming from kdot. 2/5

      1. Same from me. When I heard cartoons and cereal weren’t on the album I was hyped. Then I hear this chief keef sounding shit. Glad i didn’t pre-order. Saying that, didn’t chief sign publishing with Dre. Only messin but this is wack

      2. yeah i feel you on that cartoons and cereal shit, cause that song was an absolute mindblower..then there’s this.

    6. I love how folks hate man..lol all you can do is laugh. Kendrick is the next best to do it and you can’t hate. Folks hate because it’s a trendy beat but y’all motherfuckers don’t respect that substance shit. J.Cole, Kendrick, and Big K.R.I.T are going to meet y’all in the middle so they can cake off of the backpackers and the shallow motherfuckers. He’s not going to make “Cartoons and Cereal” all the time. Let a dude breathe man… Fuck all these haters and fuck any replies to my statement.

    7. TO all the young virgin fucktards who know nothing about hip hop that call this “not deep” its because its a mainstream single he has 2-3 on the album! Joint is tuff…When Jay did gay ass Change Clothes yall loved it lol

      1. Shut up! This song is shit. I don’t follow anyone mindlessly, he has quite a few great songs I can still listen to, but that doesn’t mean I can’t say I don’t like such and such about anyone. You sound like his Mom

    8. The SECOND I read that Hit-boy said “It’s a club song, definitely different than usual Kendrick” I knew people were gonna hate this shit and not give it a chance. Fuckouttahere.

    9. IM DISAPOINTED IN FREESTYLE AND KENDRICKS SNIPPETS…I CAN TELL HE PLAYED HIS SIELF BEST SOUNDING JOINT W SCOOP DEVILLE SAMPLE OF JANET JACKSON…..HIS PRODUCTION SUSPECT….SECTION 😯 OVERLY DEDICATED WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY BETTER…..NO DR DRE BEATS?WILLIE B TAE BEAST BARELY SOUNWAVE…I THOUGHT THIS NIGGA SAID HE WASNT GOING TO CHANGE OL LYIN AZZ

    10. That was not expected. I can’t believe I pre-ordered the deluxe version of this album. Back to section 80. Sort the sound out Dre

    11. Screaming all my life I want money and power
Respect my mind or die from lead shower
I pray my dick get big as the Eiffel Tower
So I can fuck the world for 72 hours, goddamn!
I got bitches (okay!) damn I got bitches (okay!) damn I got bitches
      Wifey, girlfriend and mistress
All my life I want money and power
Respect my mind or die from led showers

thats the hook to this record. read that again. now you faggots who think this is anything other than trash, murk yourselves

    12. I love kendrick but yeah this is kinda weak. Some of the rhymes were good but the hook was pretty annoying, at least it’s a short track. Still pumped for the album!

    13. And let the fickle-ass rap fans sound off!! A classic example of niggas wanting rappers all to themselves, then when they start making songs with well-known producers you start crying “Sell-out” and stop being a fan. Lol… Now that you all have given your emotional, knee-jerk opinions, let’s put this in perspective. Does this sound like Section.80 or Overly Dedicated? NO. Is it supposed to? NO. While I admit it’s not his best work, yall sound like bitches jumping ship on a dope artist after hearing one mediocre song. Please, withhold your judgement until Oct. 22.

      1. Just because some of us don’t like this particular joint doesn’t make us not his fans. You have just said yourself and used the severe adjective of mediocre (unless you are a master at subliminal messages). Why can’t people have an opinion these days without being called an hater? It sounds like the beginning of 1984 thinking

    14. I fuckin hate backpackers just like i do mainstream heads. Let the dude make music. Everything cant sound like HIII power….

    15. the only niggas here hating are the ones that found out about kendrick through section 80.. yall expect that shit forever. nit picking every damn song everyone thinks their a damn critic now LOL

      1. I agree. If mf were paying attention, all the songs that leaked were by big name producers. Its a tactic to get the mainstream heads involved. You backpackers are so stuck in a fuckin box.

      2. can you back that claim up? I dont like it and I never heard Section 80. Ever think that maybe people just don’t like it because they are individuals with individual tastes? is that okay with you hitler?

    16. this is terrible. never was what you would call a kendrick lamar fan, but this is just really bad in so many way

    17. I get that everything isn’t going to sound like Section.80, but that doesn’t make this song any better. Its awful by just about any standard. Im a K dot and a Hit-Boy fan, but this is just a bad song

      1. it actually is a great song you worthless faggot, i swear people like you deserve to die, suicide or murder, you are part of the reason the music audience today is full of retards and fags

      2. Geez i just said I didn’t like the song. I’m suppose to die cause I have an opinion, holy shit the nerve of some people

    18. this is kendrick’s “ballin’s uncontrollably” or “eat your vegetables” he is mocking other rappers by using their flow and shit. think about it

      1. so that’s why its wack you’re saying? gotchya. he used space on his album to make mediocre parody song. GENIUS. *rolls eyes*

    19. i personally like this song, it has some personality to it and isnt up its ass with a message, just ignorance, just like i like. but hey if you hate it thats cool too, but fans and haters arguing is just 5th grade level stuff, ill bet people look at this site and think everyone on it is mentally retarded. and they wouldnt be too far off

    20. I gave it a few listens and still feel the same about it. Not feeling it. Wish he woulda had that flow towards the end throughout the whole song. That hook sounds un finished.

    21. Actually just listened to it a few more times and now, I’m feeling it. I can dig this track, can’t wait till 22 October, gonna get that motherfucker and play it all day.

    22. i liked this song…this didn’t surprise me at all, if you are a true fan of kendrick then you already know he’s done music like this before…*Cough* michael jordan *cough* nigga rapped on a trap beat and the song was ignorant as fuuuuuuuuuck

      1. Thank u. Only True fans that was listening before section80 understands that he can do ratchet music too. Its ok be a little ratchet. Backpackers have a stick up their ass.

      1. you seem not to like any rapper who have substance to their lyrics and are getting popular, ive seen you on K.R.I.T articles and other Kendrick and Black Hippy ones too

      2. why is he here? the same reason you are here. to express his opinion. this isnt a fan site. you ask why he’s here but then lil wayne stories have 400 comments by people who hate him.

    23. why is it so hard to fathom Lil Wayne signing 2pac to Young Money records. He already has the biggest and best names in the industry under him running the game. And what does Wayne kissing other men have to do with his music? Pac was a damn background dancer before he made it big…with a parted flat top

Ever seen the video of him when he was like 18? Completely different. Wasn’t a “thug” or “gangster”, and goin on and on about how he respects women, then all of a sudden he “don’t love dem hoes”. He used super proper and formal speech and had a quire boy vibe to him(he used proper speech in interviews when he was older but not to that degree)

So how is he different from Wayne? Wayne has a much better flow as well…just sayin

      1. the problem with hip hop fans like you and others is that you compare everyone to each other, instead of actually enjoying the music.

      2. the diffrence between wanyne and tupac was a real mother fucker. look at tupacs interview when he was 18 n listen to his views on politics? tupac never had anything handed to him lil wayne was given a rap career on a gold fuckin platter dude. your gona sit there n tell me waynes 6’7 is better than tupacs changes? get the fuck outta here son. lil wayne is fuckin retarded fake ass bitch with tear tattoos and fake ass cross tat inbetween his eyes. tupac was a real mother fucker. what cuz he was a back up dancer he was fake? what have you been threw? people go threw shit and that molds them 2 become the man they are. tupac gets shot 5 times n becomes angry and fed up and lil wayne makes the carter 3 and wears fur boots and becomes a blood at the age of 26 while he was scrubbing his teeth with gold toothpase

      3. agree with everything you said beside the last comment. dude above me comparing changes to 6ft 7. i could just as easily compare georgia bush to whatz ya phone number and make pac look as ignorant. but i wont do that cause im not abias ass nigga

      4. people give pac a pass for doing the same shithey hate on every other rapper for doing. game was gay cause he was a rumored stripper? pac was a stripper too. wayne is gay cause he wears tight jeans. did you ever see the all eyez on me photoshoot where pac was wearing that leather vest? either hate on every rapper or shut the fuck up. enough of this pac was a real nigga shit. you make excuses for him and everybody see’s that but youll be the first to call another nigga a homo

    24. Nice lyrics but… what is with kendrick’s delivery/flow on this?!?!?!? Since its just a freestyle i’ll give it a 4 i guess but i dont know..

      1. there is nothing to get. there is not always a deeper meaning for you to fish out. its just a song. you either like it or you dont. stop making excuses

    25. here is the deal…

I am not a hater. I love rap music and always have. Watched rap go from big, pac, etc., to kanye, em, and others; and have now seen it come to by far the lowest. Kendrick was honestly the last hope I had for a great cd. By great I mean college dropout, black album, life after death, Aquemini, documentary, etc. etc. While Kendrick is talented, it is apparent that this album will not be like those others. I have no doubt that his lyrics will be up there with the best of them; however, there is more than that that goes into making a great album. You need a great beat, a great hook, and the lyrics. Most CDS that come out now are inconsistent and have about 4 good songs with 10 avg ones; and the production is very average throughout. These are facts. I know that the industry hasnt lost all of its talent suddenly-that wouldnt make sense-and it is clear that it is the labels that are way too hands on and dont know what to sell anymore.

Dont settle for less. I promise if Kendrikc came out in 03 with the production that Jay got for the black album( old Kanye, Just Blaze, 9th wonder, timbaland), plus 4 or 5 dre songs from that time, this would be a straight classic. I think it will be good-very good for todays albums- but it will not be like those. Production isnt good enough here. I will buy it and you all should, but this is the truth. We need more classics. Rap has always had them and now we settle for less

      1. You’re living in the past bro. It’s called Golden Era Syndrome, you sound like my old folks. Move on or get left behind. Kendrick’s album isn’t yet out & yur already coming with negative criticism. As intellectual and intelligent as you’ve tried to sound all that is nonsensical bCoz you’re obviously biased and non-objective. I don’t know if this will be a classic, but O.D. & Section80 already were so WTF u talmbout!?!?!

      2. @ lupe x … Trying to sound intellectual, intelligent .. You sound like a real condescending idiot … P.S move on or get left behind .. Dumb sheep like you always jump on the latest bandwagon !!

    26. damn jerryc you are so right if anybody had production from just blaze, neptunes, timbaland and old kanye it would be classics

    27. couldn’t follow him cuz of all the censored shit. Not gon rate it til I hear the full song, but I aint really feeling this one. My first time not liking a K.Dot drop.

      1. Funny how folks say the same thing every time he’s dropped a single from this album. “First Time” i’m not feeling a Kendrick song, what about the last time? Strictly hate after you achieve success, it’s the formula. Each song from the album has been of high standard so far.

    28. Ok….so yall supported him when he did ignorant shit like Michael Jordan and Spiritual Chant…but not this?!?!?! WHy because he’s poppin now and hit boy produced it? Weirdos

    29. Hit-boy is mad overrated. Actually I don’t think anyone is rating him. His best beat is Niggas in Paris. And thats because it had Jay and Kanye on it. If it was a Gucci Mane song, no one woudl remember it right now

    30. people expect Kendrick to be on some conscious shit every time he hops on a song, if he does that all the time, dont u think it wud get played out? Like u always say 50 always rappin about guns and drugs, well look at this also from that viewpoint.

      1. but also no need to hate

if you call it wack it would mean that this track is at the same level as some of the worst weezy or drake songs

      2. “if you call it wack it would mean that this track is at the same level as some of the worst weezy or drake songs”

        wtf are you talking?

    31. Niggas don’t even recognize this songs insane genius … it’s cool tho ignorance is curable and hate is a fear based emotion the only permanent is impermanence … Kendrick Lamar

      1. Why? Because I like this song? GTFOH with that shit, its a great track but not what people wud expect from Kendrick.

    32. no just no. there are rappers that can make this kind of music, and do it much better. this was just awkward. album is looking poe

    33. The beat is wack. Why Kendrick doesnt have producers like Game had on Docymentary, such as Scott Strorch, Dr. Dre, Hi-Tek, Kanye West, Ervin Pope, Dj Khalil etc. And the only Just Blaze produced track is many years old and average. Hope Fifty drops something GOOD later this year.

      1. 17July, This is real talkin not ur teenage rapfantacies talkin. If u gonna drop a “debut” album on Aftermath/Interscope u betta do it with a BANG, and forget about those lame ass rnb/jazz etc bullshit beats and gayfeatures like Drake. Wish Dr. Dre was Executive producer. Or doesnt anyone of u remember classics like “Documentary”, “Get rich or die tryin'”, “Slim Shady Lp”, “Marshall Mathers Lp” and “Eminem Show” for example.

      2. Lol I was jokin with that post, jus wanted to get a response. I’ve followed Shady/Aftermath since I was nine(2003) so I know their sound very well, Eminem is my all time fav. But think about it, Kendrick promotes originality, we know what to expect from artists like 50, Game, ur Obie’s and Eminem. Kendrick is tryin to push his own sound, whether it is West Coast or not. But I agree with u in a way, there shud have been a Dre beat, or maybe Khalil since EP is signed to BWS.

      3. 17July, now i get ur point man. 😀 Ive followed ahtermath/shady too since they dropped marshall mathers Lp and Dr Dre dropped 2001, year was 1999, and i was nine back then, those were good day, and the early 2000’s. But lets hope we hear some more good sh!t from aftermath soon.

      4. 17 July — Wessiide …Get a room you two little fags .. Fucking smiley faces and shit ..Hip Hop has become so FEMINISED !!

      5. So when I show a lil bit respect Im gay??? I dont know why u people are always thinkin bwt gay shit, are u scared of ur manhood?? always sayin other people are gay. HipHop isnt all about being gangsta, if u think that way then u one ignant fuck!

      6. Actually.. Slim Shady LP was mostly the Bass brothers.. Marshall Mathers was quite a bit Dre.. The Eminem Show was primarily produced by Eminem.. so, there goes that theory as far as bringing up Dre producing Eminem.. though I love Dre let’s get our shit straight. Dre influenced Eminem’s albums, for sure, but why does everyone assume he made all those beats? He didnt.

      7. well, back then G-Unit and Aftermath were on a roll, and Interscope/G-Unit/Aftermath were trying to turn The Game into the next big thing to keep it going, so they pulled out all the stops to ensure that his project was a guaranteed success. that’s why he had all these top producers providing the beats and had star features like Eminem, who back then had never appeared as a guest on anybody’s debut album, and the likes of 50 and Dr. Dre at the helm guiding the overall direction of the project. if it wasn’t for people like jimmy iovine, dre, 50, and eminem being so heavily involved in The Documentary then Game would have never had all those producers and features.

      8. @LOLZ Actually I do know what Im talkin about, the whole point of this discussion was there isnt an Aftermath producer on this album sans Dawaun Parker. I do know the Bass Brothers handled most of the production for Eminems earlier work, I do know Mr. Porter produced the majority of Infinite.

    34. LAMAR SUCKS!!!!!!!, U GUYS NEED 2 SUPPORT REAL RAP AND GET A COPY OF MY CLASSIC ALBUM THATS ALREADY SOLD OVER 3MIL!!!

      #GFID!!!!!!!

    35. i think people are overlooking the concept of the song :/….it’s supposed to be ignorant…hence the title…when you’re rolling with the homies do you freestyle about jesus and pyramids…no…. ignorant shit is what you talk about

      1. lol ok whiteboy go jump off a bridge, that should solve ur problems with life. U attackin me for likin a song? ur life must be horrible u fuckin nerd

    36. THIS SHIT GARBAGE. All who say it’s dope is just reachin for a classic. A week from now, this song will fade so fast if not already. BEST SONG OF SNIPPETS IS “Good kid”.

    37. This song is straight fire, hell of a beat hell of a rap kendrick is the future this song and the art of peer pressure + the old school type of song compton made GKMC already a classic for me! Keep up the good work K.Dot

    38. Aftermath is coming back this year K.dot & fiddy making classics this song is #HAM #GKMC #Aftermath #TDE #SKI

    39. the beat is shit… This would’ve worked on a beat by the guy who did Spiteful Chant… Or I might be saying that because it’s Kendrick (Lil Wayne, for example, might sound good on it)

    40. This nigga is OVER Rated…i dont hear what everybody else hears..HYPE!! And not only that his voice is not strong and he aint talkin bout shit…now blow me…

    41. ALL KENDRICK LAMAR FANS.

I promise you will be surprised and you will like it, its close to dub step but with my style divined into it, THIS IS CALE look at my youtube channel if you like real hip hop, my channel name is dczipper123, if you like kendrick lamar i think you will like me, i mix real life feelings with problems and situations and pain and love, I’m on a different level right now coming up just trying to give free mix tapes and cps, just trying to be heard thats all. FIRST 500-1000 VIEWS I WILL DO A LIVE COMMENTARY AND SHOE MY TATTS AND VOICE LIVE, I CAN SING AND RAP.

    42. Some serious trolling 3.75??? Smh, straight 5… shits awesome, “respect my mind or die from lead showers”

    43. Hmmm not sure how i feel about this. its different thats for sure. very simplistic beat which may be good for the vocals to shine through but i think the chorus is way too repetitive.

    44. niggas is niggas to the levels of nigga those lyrics and beat reached … God is Aa comedian … and everything else yo funny lookin ass can think … now your like Aa 10^1000 level nigga because of this …

      1. you’re an idiot.. a freestyle means you go don’t stay on any particular topic during your verse(s). this is the one track on the album that he made for that purpose..

    45. Do any of you ever think as if you were in his position? It’s his debut album. Section.80 wasn’t even considered his 1st album. This is him being introduced to the rest of the world. He needs a track for every audience so he can gain a wide fanbase. I have never heard anything Kendrick has put out that is not atleast good and/or enjoyable. Everyone hates like it needs to be perfect or some shit. Every album will have a track or something you don’t like about it. Face reality and realize he’s nothing but dope.

      1. its business…interscope is in the business of selling records and as good as section 80 is it wouldnt generate much money for them

    46. Listen to the album and youll get how this song fits in with the story he’s tellin. Before this song he was over Sheranes house, his homies just came and picked him up, and theyre wylin and havin good time, rounding around in the hood just kickin freestyles in the backseat and getting faded so they can hit a lick….

      1. Who cares about where it fits in? I put songs in my playlist, not albums in their correct order, who wants to have to listen to something in context? lol…

    47. You broke ass haters make me sick, it’s not even expensive to pre-order but you’re just going to hate, fuck you all.

    48. I understand the hate for this song as a stand alone. If you listen to the whole album it makes complete sense. This is a 13 year old Kendrick Lamar riding around with the homies about to hit a lick.

    49. LAMAR AINT NOTHING SPECIAL AT ALL SHYNE WAS RIGHT GKMC IS A HEAP OF FUCKING TRASH HIPOHOP DX GET OUT OF LAMARS ARSE
AND AT LEAST RAPBAEMENT.COM DOESNT RIDE LAMARS DICK!

    50. This is a song where he is just playing and letting loose. and…a job well done. this song bangs. and the wordplay is pretty nice too..”wooo wooo wooo woooo” lol

    51. this song is supposed to represent the mind of Kendrick at 16-years old when he was livin dat life & not giving a fuck.

one thing’s for sure tho the beat is bangin’ with a capital B
