    1. Definitely the freshest song I’ve heard on here in a couple weeks. Everything technical is there. The beat is driving and captivating as well as the emotion that is expressed almost like a vibration meant for everyone to feel.

    2. Just Got put on to Kendrick Lamar, Overly Dedicated is my shit now. This Track is in 2 words: Hip Hop. J.cole skillz at producing shines on this song.

    3. Funny how the visitors at 2dope have given this song about 2300 votes of approval, while this has only gotten 490 plays here on DX. And half of those that have commented here on DX are saying how they didn’t know about Kendrick… Says something about the two sites contingencies doesn’t it.

      1. Thank you for offering so much insight to the aforementioned observation. The point is that the visitors of this site tend to commonly overlook some of the most honest, important, and qualified contributors to today’s hip hop scene, while paying far more attention to bullshit mainstream machine backed garbage.

That’s the point I was trying to make, not trying to start a war of allegiances between web sites or blogs. Try indulging in some form of analysis or discussion, it might do your feeble minded self some good.

    4. GET YOUR SHIT RIGHT HIPHOPDX IF YOUR GONNA POST A SONG

You know him as Compton’s future aka the Good Kid in a Bad City aka K.Dot, but he’s best known as Kendrick Lamar. Kendrick has witnessed a fantastic past year, transitioning from “promosing up and comer” to being “next up to bat”!

His unique style and delivery, which combines street lyricsm with eclectic poetry has made him a fan favorite all across the board. After his critically acclaimed album O(verly) D(edicated) last summer, we have been patiently waiting for a new release from the Top Dawg Ent artist.

After the other TDE artists, Jay Rock, Schoolboy Q and Ab-Soul all recently dropped their latest projects, Kendrick announced his upcoming solo album “Section.80”, set to drop later this year.

The official first single was released moments ago on iTunes via Top Dawg Ent/EMPIRE Distribution, it’s called “HiiiPoWeR” was produced by none other than J. Cole, with whom Kendrick is also said to be doing a full project (more news on that soon).

For now, make sure to listen to “HiiiPoWeR” below and SUPPORT Kendrick Lamar by copping the single on iTunes:

    5. ILLUMINATI BREAKDOWN

kENdrick LaMAR is Illuminati/Jesuit/Society of God/Mason

      3 fingers = 3 6’s = beast sign = 3 i’s = 3rd eye = “enlightenment”

higher power is how he pronounces hiiipower

Marcus Garvey was Illuminati, as well as Malcolm, Princess Diana, and many other notables who decided to dissent and were killed for it.

If you like this song… Satan has won… your heart over.

Be mindful of what he says. The devil speaks cunningly through wicked tongues.

I will pray for J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar, and all of us.

Satan is a liar and the truth is not in him!

      1. yo.. i feel you. truly. folks not ready to read this. the research i’ve done had me believing that W.E. Dubois was and not M. Garvey…

      2. SHUT THE FUCK UP!

So the Illuminati is recruiting rappers from Compton now?

Not to mention, they’re recruiting Jamaican rebels like Marcus Garvey?

Do you hear the shit you’re saying?

Eat a dick with a bowl of scalding hot soup.

      3. fuck off with your spam, you post the same shit in rapradar. didn’t you listen to the second verse. “who said a black man in the illuminati, last time i checked that was the biggest racist party”. fuck off with your bullshit faggot.

    6. Wow! First time giving Kendrick a spin and I’ve gotta say I’m impressed. Cole delivered on the beat as well, perfectly executed single.

    7. I don’t think that this is the J. Cole Kendrick tape. This is Kendricks upcoming solo project Section 80 which would explain why J. Cole doesn’t have a verse. But I bet he jumps on another one of the other tracks on Section 80.

      1. pusha t is the intellectual pusha t. kendrick lamar dont talk about movin crack, more of a ghetto pusha t.

    8. This kid is a problem. First time I heard him, and the industry watch out for jcole asa producer. He knows long term money is not in rapping but production. He makes his own beats and his beats always hot.

    9. THIS IS THE ILLEST TRACK EVER PURE HIPHOP. 5/5 PLEASE SUPPORT THIS BUY ON ITUNES RIGHT KNOW. HiiiPoWeR TDE

    10. Wowwwwwwww!!! Kendrick Lamar DID HIS FCKIN THING ON DIS TRACK!!! im really impressed. J.Cole came thru n delivered a crazy beat…5 Stars

    11. j.cole production is insane on this – we’re looking at kanye 2.0 people…wow

kendrick lamar earned my respect on this one too…i can feel the sincerity, ill record

    12. Alright kid. I’m putting you on my list of the realest realest.

Not the fake realest like Wayne, Ross, Jay Biggie and all the other Uncle Tom’s selling cocaine dreams and death to your own people.

    13. Really REALLY REALLY good. Beat is pretty sick, first time hearing about this rapper also, def has skills, gonna search his shit up on youtube now haha, but gonna keep an ear out for this cat.

    14. Kendrick Lamar is the future. If you haven’t got Overly Dedicated.. go get that. This track is sick. nice production too for realz.

    15. Anyone hear Kanye’s ‘Ridiculous’. Especially towards the end/the hook. Or is that suppose to be obvious?

    16. Been listing to Kendrick for like two or three years now. Check out his mixtape and Kendrick Lamar – Vanity Slave Pt 2.

    17. for the last few years, the westcoast has been a breath of fresh air in hiphop..you can sit back and talk shit, reppin your coast..but the truth is the young hungry cats have been coming out the west.kendrick lamar-“kdot”,ab soul, jayrock, nipsey, pacdiv, blu,UNI,dom kennedy, and so on.original sound without the commercial pop twist.west west yall

    18. Shit goes BAM! Brutal As A Muthafucka check me out toohttp://soundcloud.com/kalyz-p-mansyn/mrs-fit-girl

    19. LOVE IT! I havnt listend to MUCH of Lamar but I know he has talent,, im really waitin on COLE!

      THIS BEAT IS SOMETHING ELSE!

    20. ill be honest this track sends chills down my spine. we all need to support this HIIIPOWER ON ITUNES. GO COP IT SUPPORT THIS REAL SHIT

    21. Dammnnn !! The beat is so vibrating… Dammn, what a slap in the face !
Btw, lyrics are dope. I knew J. Cole but Kendrick is a good newcomer too.

    22. Been listing to Kendrick for the past two or three years. Listen to his mixtape and listen to vanity slave pt2!

    23. every needs to check out ignorance is bliss off of overly dedicated mixtape from kendrick lamar. this dude is gonna be big

    24. proud to say overly dedicated is in the cd player right now… love this dude’s energy and even more impress that j cole produce the joint. cant wait for kendrick to blow – hopefully he continues to make real music. this guy and jcole are 2 of my faves right now

      1. I like this song no doubt. Tone wise he sounds like Pusha T (from clipse).

But that Slaughterhouse comment was idiotic. Not Hip Hop? Really? Even though they’re all 4 of the sickest ILLEST emcees spitting post 2004!?!? Others include Elzhi, One Be Lo, Diabolic, Copywrite, Louis Logic, Juice, Percee-P, Pharoahe Monch, Black Thought, Blu, Shad, Lowkey, Rhyme Asylum, Common, Lupe, Nas, G Rap, half of AOTP/Wu, etc. But the dudes in slaughterhouse are ill lyricists in their own way. I’ve always loved Crooked I the most & Royce when he brings his A+ game flow/tone

      2. Forgot TONEDEFF (who i absolutely love), Cunnin Lynguists (Deacon the Villan is nice & Kno’s production is fabulous), Rhymesayers click, Skyzoo, Torae, Bis, DZK, Warbux, Fashawn, Masta Ace, Sly Boogie to name a few more

      3. Yeah that is just retarded Slaughterhouse is one of the best groups in recent memory and every member is ill as fuck

    25. Wow this is fucking dope. Best j.Cole production I have heard besides “blow up”

Stop comparing kendrick to pusha t, they are completely different lyricists….both dope in their own way.

This collab EP will be epic. Hip hop is well and alive if people like these two continue to put out music. Let’s all pray that neither of them go too commercialized on us

    26. HOT ASS TRACK. can’t wait for j cole and kendrick lamar collab. J. cole and Kendrick lamar are taking it home

    27. Glad kendrick aint waiting for dr. dre to help him out, hes actually going out and making shit happen for himself. This is the most positive comments i have ever seen about k-dot and the most buzz behind a single yet(even if it has something to do w/ j. cole producing this track). Props to cole for providing him a dope ass beat too.

    28. marcus garvey died in a crash with his wife and it was a assination. thats why he talks about an autopsy conspiracy. This guy is no joke he be saying some real shit not that cornball stuff you like. HIIIPOWER

      1. Wiki says Garvey died on a boat.. And his wife wasnt hurt at all.. But they thought he might have been poisoned. Where does the car crash story come from?

    29. K-DOT best in the game, hands down. Best up and coming artist, most lyrical and spits about life, music is real and his songs have substance. So stop hating and show respect.

    30. Straight whack. He sounds gay, has no mic presence and don’t let me start about his lyrics. I’m so tired of these lame ass pop rappers who get praised for their shit when there are rappers that got 100 times the skill he has.

      1. LOL he has even more skills lyrically than he showed on this track tho, he didnt try to go WAY over ur head on this. Also ur fucking retarded for implying that kendrick is a pop star too when hes still an independent underground artist. Not only that, there is nothing about kendrick that is pop, at all. Did u even listen to the lyrics & understand em? wtf is pop about what hes talking about??? lol sit ur simple ass down u clown!

    31. anonymouse you don’t have a clue his presence is amazing name one rapper better than kendrick. Your the type of person who likes bubblegum Rap. Don’t comment on this real rap shit punk

    32. Kanye pusha t. His lyrics go way over them 2 stop comparing because there is none. Fresh of breath air in the game people need to open there lug holes. Ignorance is bliss. HIIIPOWER

    33. Kendrick is one of the best upcoming rappers in the game that can do so many styles/flows/cadences. U can never put this nigga in a box as to what he does lyrically.

    34. been saying this dude is the best mc out of all the new cats coming out and this track to me proves why. anybody frontin on kendrick should just go somewhere and listen to wacka or somethin. and j.cole is a beast on the beat. thumbz up!

    35. DAMN. MOST NIGGAZ GOT NOTHING ON THIS RAPPIN SHIT, ALL THEY SPIT IS TRASH THESE DAYZ… I`M FEELIN THIZ NIGGA RIGHT HERE, KENDRICK LAMAR, HIII POWER GOES HEAVY… REAL TALK.

    36. He sounds like Kanye talking more sense and im not just talking about the so apaulled chorus reference specially second verse ‘the frightening scheme’ and the way hes used the mega phone effect.

Not a fan of J.Cole but beat is tough

    37. there are no words to describe this song..its just hiiipower! lyrically, musically, content, conscious, this is the ultimate! if there was anyone sleeping on kendrick u betta wake, and jump on his d#$k like he says!

      1. thats fucked up true to an extent, oil companies of middle east over the world are part of the elite that controls americas diplomacy, we need to unite over class , blacks, brown, whites stand up for all of us strugglin right now.

      2. NEVER TRUST A MANS KNOWLEDGE TO BE 100% FACT. THE THING IS THIS WE WILL NEVER KNOW WHO CONTROLS WHAT. IF A BROTHER IS WILLING TO KILL A BROTHER, THEN ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. WHITE MEN DONT RULE SHIT. THE DEVIL DOES. DONT GET TWISTED. ILLUMINATI IS BIGGER THAN FLESH.

    38. STOP COMPARING HIM TO THESE POPCORN RAPPERS PLEASE. HE IS IN A LEAGUE OF HIS OWN. IF DR DRE WORKING ON HIS INDAPENDENT ALBUM THAT SAYS IT ALL HE HAS NEVER DONE THAT. KANYE PUSHA T GOT NOTHING ON KENDRICK SIMPLES………….. HIIIPOWER

    39. LOOK I USUALLY HATE EVERYONE THAT RAPS. WELL EXCEPT A FEW EMCESS NOT RAPPERS. BUT I WONT GO INTO THAT. ANYWAY KENDRICK IS ACTUALLY 4 LETTERS IT GOES 1. D 2. O 3. P 4. E = DOPE.

SIDE NOTE: MASONS GO UP TO 33 DEGREE’S AND THAT IS A GIANT RACIST PARTY AND THEY DO HAVE A HUGE BLACK MEMBER RATE. THAT’S A SIDE NOTE.

SIDE SIDE NOTE: THE WORLDS GONNA BURN.

ENJOY THE DAY THE SUN IS RIPE.

    40. wooooooow. kendrick is the mothafuckin shit. him and j cole the hottest new comers fo damn sho. aint nobody fuckin wit dem

    41. Didn’t see this coming. Lamar is hittin em’ wit it. It’s good to see he is from Compton too, oh and J-cole synced up with him… Damn.. Hot. Can’t wait to see what else Kendrick has for us.

    42. Straight crack….fire…Knew this kid was hot…heard him on the xxl mixtape….J.Cole beat is off the hook…50 cent u need something like this and not that party bullshit!

    43. I have to play this at least once a day. Inspires me to get my hieroglyph and pyramid game on for the day. About to head into to work Hiiiii powered up! It’s kind of ironic that he put out the “autopsy/government shot me” quote before OBL’s death. I’m not saying anything, but the fact that it is ironic for me so don’t go turning this into a conspiracy people! lol smh… I’m sure he is referencing the Tupac autopsy anyway.

    44. realshit nigga!from real niggaz of a hood wit niggaz and aint crackaz!dis nigga went hard in em nigga!

    45. Kendrick is educating on this track. Just the fact that he mentions the names of revolutionary leaders from Dr. King to the BPP is enough to make any half intelligent kid curious as to who they are… Huey Newton, Bobby Seale, Fred Hampton etc…

    46. Educational hip-hop lyrically inclined rap radios dnt play that shit just a bunch of BULLSHIT keep real hip-hop and street music alive and fuck souja boy he cant play Pac roll producers and directors need to kill themselves for letting that shit ride

    47. Finally some REAL lyrical rap, not that fucking slaughterhouse trash the white kids are hyping up cause royce sucked eminems white cock. Thank goodness.

      1. Dude, shut the fuck up!! slaughterhouse is real lyrical rap u fucking retard! Kendrick is dope but every member of slaughterhouse ESPECIALLY ROYCE kill rip him apart in a rap battle. Clearly ur hatred of slaughterhouse is based on the simple fact that their signed to shady cause u saying they aint lyrical rap just makes u look like a complete dumbass. U need a new pair of ears, u dont know what the fuck ur talking about smfh @ this fool who keeps repeating this bullshit about sh over & over again in the c-section.

      2. Lol @ this kid catching feeling because we’re not a house nigga like him. The only good person in slaughter house is ortiz. The rest can go on living like bums, budden can continue being punked like a bitch then broadcasting on blogtv.

    48. This is MC shit …no rappa look at me in my own commercial bitches!
      Alpha male music

    49. Dude ya think this song is dope, wait til the entire section 80 album comes out! Kendrick is on some serious shit.

    50. I used to think this dude was wack, but after listening (i mean REALLY listening) to this song, o.d., kendrick lamar ep and the training day mixtape i realize just how dope he is. Hes got one of the most versatile flows in the game. Dude can go from rapping about street shit to the more conscious stuff to the more political stuff, he switches up his rhyme style from punchlines to metaphors, patterns, unorthodox and he can even do multi-syllable rhyme schemes without talking any breaths to my suprise Just listen to ignorance is bliss and Heaven & Hell for example. Dude is so dope he actually surpasses j. cole in terms of skill and topics. Cant wait to hear more from this nigga.

    51. this shyt is pretty cool he sound like pusha-t tho and u can tell he ah fan of kanye… very good music none the less… first song i heard by dude n im impressed…

    52. Sick beat, great song. This kid should blow up huge, it’d be a crime otherwise. Very ‘Kanye’, but still clearly something else entirely too. Can’t stop listening to it.

    53. Kendrick killed it but yo, shoutout to J. Cole not only is he a great rapper but he makes crazy ass beats too.

    54. Oh! Pleasantly suprised. Always heard Lamar’s name but never checked him out till now. One single, and I cant wait for his album.

    55. HAHAHAHA CAM KHALIFA > KENDRICK

SORRY THIS NIGGA IS JUST SO DAMN BORING, THIS IS SOME AMBER-ROSE-LEAVE-YA-ASS-SHIT FOR REAL THO

AND HE SOUNDS LIKE PUSHA T
AND THAT NIGGA ON HELLA COKE

      1. Taylord, everyone has their own taste, but this song knocks. Love the first couple lines. Dope lyrics, should have held off on the curses though, considering the grown man stuff he’s rapping about and the names he is referencing. But dope song. And Jay-Z needs to be on the phone with Live Nation so that they can do something with J Cole before he falls off and turns into wasted talent.

    56. In my opinion this man will change hip-hop. Nobody has came this deep , not even j cole.
If you dont respect kendrick lamar you are illiterate. Call it dick riding , Idgaf. Tupac is in heaven smiling , but the masses still dont even know who he is . Section 80 will change that . I put so many people up on this guy its ridiculous . I just hope my music will inspire like he’s inspired me .

      #Hiii Power .

    57. Check Section 80. Dope Album. Support the real. I hope Cole has beats of this calibur for Cole World. This track goes deep. His lyricism and word play is ridiculous on this. Unfortunately the masses rather hear rick ross rap about selling coke.

    58. With beats like this I’m thinking J. Cole could be the next Kanye West and with lyrical prowess like this I’m thinking Kendrick Lamar could be the next Tupac Shakur.

      HiiiPoWeR
