This shit obviously gonna get a lot of hate on this site, but I actually dig this track. It’s different, he’s FINALLLLYYYY changing up his style, he’s been running on the same shit for damn year 1½ years now and the well is running dry.
This is a good switch up, a more upbeat and electro sounding Drake. It aint lyrical but it’s just a snipped so the jury is still out. I definitely like the change in direction though, I was growing tired of his same old shit so I applaud him for daring to tread new ground.
Its funny we listened to the same song and heard almost the exact opposite thing. I didnt hear anything new that we havent heard from Drake in this song. Lets do a run thru: starts song singing to female in the most mediocre of voices (for those who disrespect all talented vocalist and call Drake a “singer”). BEEN THERE DONE THAT. Then after that proceed to use a Lil Wayne flow (similar to lets say… Always Strapped). BEEN THERE DONE THAT. Chorus comes in. Next verse continue with previously stated monotonous tone and flow but now add small notes and end of key words (ie Best I Ever Had : You know that I’m working, I’ll be there soon as I make it hooooooome)BEEN THERE DONE THAT. Chorus comes in. Last Verse we are greeted by the usual Drake flow with not much word wizardry or any pullback worthy lines in a verse targeted at his usual lady listener not much different from the lane of verses on “Say Something” or a lot of other verses one may think of.
