Missy Elliot – Miss E…So Addictive

    Take head to what Missy
    Misdemeanor Elliott
has to say, cause her latest album, Miss E… So Addictive truly was
“addictive.” However, the diversity and appeal of her third album
extends much deeper than its appropriately chosen title.

Miss E… So Addictive is laced with
typical Missy style: a mix of club
and R&B tracks, and to quote Timbaland
on the hot hot Whatcha Gonna Do, A buncha dope beats and a buncha dope lyrics
    too.
    Timbaland holds true to
this statement by lending his dope production skills to all but one of the
tracks. But unlike previous albums, this one brings with it a fresher edge.
There seems to be an unparalleled emphasis on the beats. Vocals didn’t
overwhelm each track, allowing it to border on a rave feel. The album truly
    does feel unique.

    The only non-Timbaland produced
track, 4 My People was the hottest
track. Nisan & D-Man waste no
time in establishing their production credibility on this dance track. Eve rips the track to shreds in her
featured spotlight. The second single, One
    Minute Man
impressed me with a beat section I could swear was jacked from Nine Inch Nails. I love it! Watch for Ludacris to keep your engine gunning on
this track. Lick Shots and Whatcha Gon’ Do were two of the other
    hotter tracks. Missy even gets
spiritual, pledging her love of God on the two soulful hidden bonus tracks.

While bumpin’ Miss E… So Addictive
in my car, I found myself skipping only a couple of the tracks. And admittedly
I’ve never been a big fan of the first single, Get Ur Freak On, but the rest of the album more than makes up for
    it. Timbaland‘s beats are impressive
and Missy‘s vocal play is fluid.
This album ain’t intellectual, and it ain’t gangsta, but it is a dope
    club/R&B album worth checkin’ out.
