The YSL RICO trial had been paused until YSL Polo faced separate murder charges — but now, the pause has come to an end, and the co-defendant has been convicted.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution is reporting that the rapper (real name Cordarius Dorsey) has been found guilty in the murder of Xavier Arlandor Turner in January of 2020, which was caught on camera. The video evidence of Polo shooting and killing Turner at Old National Village Discount Mall in College Park, Ga., according to the outlet, was the key evidence in securing the conviction.

YSL Polo has already been sentenced to life in prison in a separate murder, which he participated in back in 2019. He has already been denied parole in that case.

It is unclear what sort of sentence YSL Polo will face for the Turner murder now that he has been convicted, but prosecutors are expected to ask for yet another life sentence.

YSL Polo made headlines last week thanks to a video that allegedly shows him acting “crazy,” which was the basis of Young Thug’s attorney requesting his severance from the rest of the YSL RICO defendants.

In a viral video posted on Saturday (September 2), but which took place before Judge Ural Garrett on August 30, Young Thug‘s attorney, Brian Steel, can be seen looking perplexed as Polo (real name Cordarius Dorsey) jerks his head and arms around violently.

Steel’s motion before the court requested Polo’s severance to ensure Thugga continued to receive a fair trial, to which Judge Garrett agreed.

“Jeffery Williams, by and through undersigned counsel, hereby files this motion to Sever Parties in the above-referenced case,” read Steel’s motion. “In support of this Motion, Mr. Williams shows as follows. Mr. Williams is innocent of all charges in the above-referenced indictment. Mr. Dorsey, a co-indictee, has displayed unprofessional and unacceptable conduct in Court, in the presence of this Honorable Court, as announced on the Record on Thursday, August 31, 2023.”

It continues: “Based upon information and belief, during a separate trial, Mr. Dorsey, using movements with his hands, threatened the prosecutors as well as the jurors. Mr. Williams has filed a Demand for Speedy Trial and will not upset that Demand for Speedy Trial. However, Mr. Williams asks this Honorable Court to exercise its discretion and sever Mr. Dorsey so that Mr. Williams’ Constitutional right to a fair trial is not prejudiced.”

The YSL RICO trial, which is still in the discovery phase, is expected to resume shortly.
