The YSL RICO Trial has taken another surprising turn as a former Fulton County corrections officer has been accused of collaborating with one of Young Thug‘s defendants.

According to WSB-TV, 31-year-old Karmen Bailey has been charged with accepting $17,000 in bribes, including from Marquavious Huey’s family, in exchange for delivering drugs and other contraband to inmates at the Fulton County Jail.

The case against Bailey came to a head when officials searched through her phone and found evidence of Apple Pay transactions and communications with Huey’s mother and brother. She has been charged with four counts of violation of oath, two counts of bribery, and two counts of obtaining/procuring/giving inmates prohibited items without authorization.

The Fulton County Sherriff’s Office also confirmed that Huey’s mother and brother, Malissa and Jermiyah Huey have been arrested, though their charges were not made public.

The YSL RICO Trial has seen its fair share of drama since it began in November 2023. It is now not only the longest-running trial in history, but also set a new record earlier this month.

On October 2, X account The Blvck Law Student noted that YSL defense lawyers have filed a total of 45 motions for mistrial since the trial began – none of which have been granted. This is the first time such a thing has ever happened.

The unorthodox record was tallied the day after Thug’s lawyer’s latest motion for mistrial was denied by Judge Paige Reese Whitaker.

While that is a setback for the YSL rapper, Whitaker also slammed the prosecution for how they are presenting their case against Thugger, who they accuse of being the head of a criminal street gang.

In a moment of frustration captured on the court’s livestream, Whitaker admonished prosecutors, saying: “I don’t want to malign the prosecutor standing in front of me right now, so I’m not going to say the possible things it could be.

“But it is baffling to me that somebody with the number of years of experience that you have, time after time after time, continues to seemingly and purposefully hide the ball to the extent you possibly can, for as long as you possibly can.”

She added: “I really don’t want to believe that it is purposeful, but honestly, after a certain number of times, you start to wonder how it could be anything but that. Unless it is just that you are so unorganized that you are throwing this case together as you try it.

“This case is being made much more difficult for everybody because of the haphazard way in which it is being presented.”

Whitaker then called a brief recess and retreated to her quarters to consider the mistrial motion, but ultimately decided against it.
