Young Thug‘s YSL RICO trial still has no end in sight, and in the latest update, a potential witness is arguing that he could die from illness if he takes the stand.

In video shared by Legal Affairs & Trials reporter Meghann Cuniff on Wednesday (September 18), the attorney of a man set to testify spoke to Judge Paige Reese Whitaker about his client, noting that a stressful situation like speaking to the court could exasperate his current illness past the point of return.

He also said his client gave a statement nearly a decade ago and could barely remember what he did the day prior, essentially saying he’s not reliable for testimony.

“He’s in a situation where if he gets put under a stressful situation, he will have a crash. It will be a crisis situation and he will be back [in the hospital],” he said. “He made a statement 10 years ago. He said, ‘I don’t remember what happened yesterday, sometimes.’ So, he’s in a bad situation.”

Lead prosecutor Adrienne Love said she spoke with the witness’ doctor, however, and while they confirmed he is sick, they said he’s fit to take the stand.

Judge Whitaker ultimately said the witness should testify, and to be safe, she’d have a medical team on standby.

In court last week, Young Thug was seen laughing hysterically in court after he was asked by a witness about his alleged issues with Rich Homie Quan.

State witness Kenneth “Lil Woody” Copeland was on the stand on September 3 when he was asked by a prosecutor if Thug had issues with Quan “bringing members of his gang to his apartment.”

Instead of answering himself, Copeland turned to Thug inside the courtroom and asked: “Thug, did you have an issue with Rich Homie?”

The YSL rapper was not given chance to answer as the prosecutor quickly cut Woody off, but Thug could be seen keeling over in laughter at the interaction.

Copeland has been responsible for some of the wildest moments from the lengthy and controversial trial.

He previously told the court he had been a prolific liar, saying: “Like I told you before y’all called me to trial, I have lied. I made things up. I told you this before y’all brought me in this courtroom, and I’m telling you now.

“You asked me about 2015. I had got my life together. Y’all are trying to put this on my conscience, y’all are trying to put people’s lives in my hands.”

He continued: “I don’t wanna be here. Y’all have pressured me, I’m tired of y’all, cause y’all know y’all wrong and y’all Black people doing this to us.”

Copeland was offered immunity for his testimony but has continued to prove a problem for the state as he has answered many questions by saying, “I don’t recall,” and even fired his own lawyer while on the witness stand.
