Young Thug enjoyed a rare moment of levity during his ongoing YSL RICO trial thanks to a funny comment from his lawyer Brian Steel.

Seen on the trial’s livestream, Steel was offering a metaphor on him not being allowed to see the prosecution’s evidence, saying: “This is all to me like I have a bag over my head and getting smashed with a baseball bat and I have no idea where to hit. I don’t have anything. I have asked for reports.”

Midway through his attorney’s argument, Thugger burst into laughter and had to cover his face with his hands to try and stifle his amusement.

The drama in Young Thug’s trial has not ceased, even after original judge Ural Glanville was recused from the case and replaced with Paige Reese Whitaker.

Things took a wild turn earlier this month when key witness Kenneth “Lil Woody” Copeland admitted on the stand to lying in a bid to stay out of jail.

“Like I told you before y’all called me to trial, I have lied,” he testified. “I made things up. I told you this before y’all brought me in this courtroom, and I’m telling you now. You asked me about 2015. I had got my life together. Y’all are trying to put this on my conscience, y’all are trying to put people’s lives in my hands.”

He continued: “I don’t wanna be here. Y’all have pressured me, I’m tired of y’all, cause y’all know y’all wrong, and y’all Black people doing this to us.”

Copeland was previously at the heart of the controversy that resulted in Glanville being removed from the trial after the judge met with the witness and prosecutors in private without telling the defense.

Copeland was offered immunity for his prosecution but he has continued to prove a problem for the state as he has answered many questions by saying, “I don’t recall.”

Copeland had earlier fired his own lawyer while he was on the stand.

“She fired,” Woody said after being asked how he wanted to proceed by the judge after he had spent a weekend in jail over refusing to testify as per his immunity agreement. “I don’t want her.”
