Young Thug has played Santa Claus from behind bars, partnering with an Atlanta church to give toys to children in need.

KRON-4 is reporting that the embattled rapper (real name Jeffery Williams) teamed up with Pee Wee Roscoe (real name Jimmy Winfrey) and the Trap Music Museum to support Pastor Horatious Harris of Nexus Church in a toy giveaway on Wednesday (December 20).

T.I. and Lil Baby were also reportedly in attendance, as was Senator Raphael Warnock, who’s congressional district includes the city of Atlanta.

“We are overjoyed to be in partnership with Jimmy and Jeffery to serve them, the families and children who will be blessed by this Christmas gifting initiative,” the pastor said in a statement. “Giving shows the heart of God and it is our heart at Nexus to connect all with Christ within the community. We hope this movement of contagious unity will spread throughout the city and beyond.”

Despite his positive moves for the community, Young Thug is still in the throes of the YSL RICO trial, which, earlier this month, was delayed until 2024 after one of his co-defendants being stabbed while in jail.

On December 12, court reporter Meghann Cuniff confirmed that the trial has been put on hold until January 2, 2024, while the defendant, Shannon Stillwell, recovers from the attack.

Just after court proceedings began on December 11, Judge Ural Glanville announced that there had been a “medical issue” with “one of our participants,” and that the trial was done for the day. He ordered everyone back at 9 A.M. the following day.

Not long afterward, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to Fox 5 Atlanta that Shannon Stillwell had been stabbed at some point over the weekend. He has reportedly been hospitalized.

His attorney, Max Schardt, gave a statement to WSB-TV reporter Michael Seiden that said: “Our first concern is Shannon’s health, and we hope to speak to him shortly. I will provide any additional details when appropriate. Thank you.”

Stillwell, who was arrested alongside Young Thug and 27 others in May 2022, was previously stabbed in July 2022, according to jail officials.
