YG, who recently aligned himself with Jeezy, says he has several things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.
“I’m thankful for my life, my family,” YG says during an exclusive interview with HipHopDX. “God blessed me with everything that he blessed me with. Just the homies and my whole movement and my fans and just everything I got going on. I’m blessed for everything. I’m blessed to be living today. I’m not in jail. I got homies in jail facing life. I’m blessed to be out here, doing what I’m doing.”
YG, whose video for his single “My Hitta” featuring Jeezy and Rich Homie Quan, has logged more than 1 million views on YouTube, is preparing for the release of his debut major label album, My Krazy Life, which is slated to be released in early 2014. The Compton, California rapper says that he’s learned a tremendous amount about the music industry since teaming with Jeezy.
“I be chilling like, ‘This song is the single. It’s the single. It’s the single,’” YG says. “But he like, ‘You got to make sure this is the single because if you tell the label it’s the single and they push the button behind the song and the song don’t work, that’s your ass. You feel me. They ain’t going to believe anything else you say. So it’s going to be hard for you.’
“Jeezy just help me like come up with just different ways to think about songs,” YG continues. “With the music, you don’t want it to be here and gone tomorrow. You want it to last forever.’”
YG’s discussions with Jeezy led to YG changing his album title from I’m From Bompton to My Krazy Life.
“The I’m from Bompton shit is only to a certain crowd of people, so only a certain crowd of people is going to buy that,” YG says. “Jeezy like, ‘You bigger than that.’ So, yeah, I came up with the My Krazy Life concept and that’s what it is.”

I don’t think that the person who wrote this article knows anything bout YG or personally is a fan. Everything written couldve been found just by data mining on Google. Real hip hop heads will always see through this kind of journalism. My Hitta has 1,000,000 views but the explicit version “My N*gga” has 27,000,000 views. Thats way more impressive. Do better research next time.
FACT! the one with jeezy had 27,777,000 views and thats the original. the dude never heard yg and had to do a few google searches to write an article. thats what hiphop has turned to these days. any body with ethernet can write an article.
Nobody cares how many views it got.
I HAD NEVER HEARD THIS “HIT” BUT SOUNDS LIKE IT WOULD BE STRAIGHT IN THE CLUB… DOES SOUND LIKE A FUTURE TYPE OF CHORUS THOUGH
rich homie quan is the new future who was the new t-pain
t-pain was the new akon which was the new nate dogg

When you’re imitating something that already sucked to begin with it’s definitely worse.

Yeah, and he and Meek were just photographed together a few weeks back. The only one getting caught up in his feelings is…Drake. I know, it’s hard to believe that Drake got emotional.
Horrible song. Horrible video. Horrible first week sales.
“he’s the best rapper out right now”
Crack kills homie. Lay off it.
It still sounds like industry fabricated trash to my ears.
