YG has admitted that he long believed 2Pac was secretly still alive until he saw his mom break down over her son’s tragic murder.

The Compton native stopped by comedian Theo Von’s podcast This Past Weekend and spoke about his support for the long-held conspiracy theory that the late ‘Pac, who was shot and killed in 1996, was secretly alive and well.

However, all that changed when YG was asked to speak about ‘Pac’s impact during an intimate panel discussion at L.A’s GRAMMY Museum in 2015, where he met the rap legend’s mother Afeni Shakur (who passed away herself four years later).

“They wanted me to come speak on behalf of the new generation, like 2Pac’s impact on us,” he recalled. “I said some shit and his mama came up to me and was like crying and shit. She was like, ‘I love what you said about my son.’

“I’m like, ‘Yeah, yeah, fa sho.’ And then she’s just looking at me and she crying and she’s like, ‘They really killed my baby! They really killed my baby!'”

He continued: “I’m like, ‘God damn!’ Bro, that shit fucked me up ’cause I thought ‘Pac was alive. My whole life, bro, I thought ‘Pac was alive. But that day, I’m like, ‘Nah, bro, he gone.’ His mama was crying in my face. ‘Nah, he gone!’

“Bro, that shit fucked me up. That shit was crazy … It was sad as fuck, bro. We was holding hands and shit … I got a picture with her when we was talking.”

YG has often spoken about 2Pac’s influence on both himself and Hip Hop as a whole, and grew enraged back in June after the All Eyez On Me rapper finally received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

“It took them 25 years + to give Tupac a star on Hollywood Blvd? Y’all got him f*ucked all the way up,” YG tweeted at the time.
