Yelawolf Uses Underrated Talk To Come After ‘Everything’ On Fiery New Track

Yelawolf is back with a vengeance and he’s coming after “Everything” on the latest track from his forthcoming double album .

Released on Friday (February 16) along with its accompanying music video, “Everything” marks Yela’s return to Hip Hop for the first time in nearly three years. The track serves as the lead single to War Story, which is due out later this year.

I hear people, from time to time, tell me that I’m underrated or under-appreciated,” Yela begins on the song. “And, to a certain extent, that’s flattery and endearing/But I also use it as a source of inspiration to keep, keep fuckin’ y’all up!”

Get into the video below, which features a cameo from Three 6 Mafia‘s DJ Paul.

Announced in November, Yelawolf’s War Story boasts contradicting sides: Trunk Muzik 4Ever, which is produced by his right-hand WLPWR; and Michael Wayne, produced by Malay

The project marks Yelawolf’s first solo rap album since 2021’s Mud Mouth — 2022’s Sometimes Y with Shooter Jennings saw him pivot to rock.

“I was just so fueled to rap again. My tank got refilled, so to speak, and it turned out I had a lot to say,” he told SPIN. “I would love to see a place in Hip Hop for me to elevate and to bring the quality of the music and what we’ve put together to the forefront of the mainstream.

Yelawolf added his hopes for the project: “I would like for Drake fans, Kendrick Lamar fans, Three 6 Mafia fans, Future fans, XXXTentacion fans — I think it would be rad for me if the younger generation would take a hold of the project.”

Now 44 years old, the Tennessee native feels a responsibility to serve up jewels as a mentor to the next generation of artists entering the music industry.

“Yeah, this double album is full-on OG, mentoring, artistic MC — it’s me at my best. That part honestly is a little scary, because these albums don’t come along very often,” Yela said. “The last album I felt like was this sharp was Love Story. I do feel a responsibility to play my part in the culture and to bring other people up.”

    1. He nice. But I’m skeptical of White rappers that switch to Country. Big Culture Vulture energy. Kid Rock anyone?

      1. Can you explain why being able to make different genres makes you a culture vulture?
Would you say the same if a black rapper started making country?

      2. He didn’t switch to country. He’s always been county rap/hickhop. How’s he ripping off a culture he is part of? He’s from Alabama homie.

    2. I was all about that white chocolate this past Valentine’s Day. I was rockin out to Yelawolf, MGK and Jack Harlow all day.. aka my GOATS. My hood stays bumping them ya’ll.. REAL hip hop #ILoveWhiteHipHop

      1. Kid Rock is every genre you wanna choose from, everyone from George Jones to Jay Z. No matter what genre you prefer, you can never doubt the Prodigy Robert Ritchie, aka American badass Kid Rock, the most talented artist I’d ever heard. I’ve heard everything he’s done. I’ve been a fan for 25 yrs. Unfortunately during his midlife crisis, he lost me. Due to reasons not associated with his talent.

      1. How long has white people have been culture vulturing everyone’s culture? Since forever. How long has Beyonce have been doing country? Last I checked just recently. Lol ((you)) people are a joke
