Pittsburgh, PA

Wiz Khalifa has thrown out the first pitch at a game for his hometown Pittsburgh Pirates and home plate may have looked a little funky due to what he ingested prior to taking the mound.

The Taylor Gang leader delivered the first pitch prior to Monday night’s (July 17) Pirates contest and Khalifa admitted he did it while high on shrooms.

“Finna get stoned af and throw this first pitch at the pirates game,” he wrote. “Shroomed out throwin a baseball is crazy.”

After hyping up the crowd, the “Black and Yellow” hitmaker delivered a decent pitch — all things considered while being under the influence — which probably should’ve been caught by the Pirates player.

The 35-year-old spent also some time in the clubhouse hanging out with players on his hometown team such as outfielder Andrew McCutchen who he introduced to his son, Sebastian.

Unfortunately, Wiz Khalifa’s appearance was not a good omen for the Pirates who were throttled by the Cleveland Guardians in shutout fashion 11-0 at PNC Park.

Although, on the bright side for Wiz, his first pitch went better than the 2017 edition, which bounced before reaching home plate.

Khalifa is currently riding high on the High School Reunion Tour with Snoop Dogg, DJ Drama and more. Tuesday’s (July 18) show is slated to hit nearby Burgettstown, Pennsylvania.

Wiz also recently joined the club of Hip Hop A-listers who have recently sold a chunk of their music catalogs, though the terms of the transaction are yet to be disclosed.

Earlier in this month, global investment firm HarbourView Equity Partners closed a deal with the Pittsburgh rapper for a portion of his discography and publishing assets. The agreement covers multiple albums, mixtapes and singles that span his prolific career.

Speaking on the partnership, Wiz said in a press release: “[Founder and CEO] Sherrese [Clarke Soares] and HarbourView truly understand the value of music and artistry. We are excited to partner with them as they continue to build a dynamic media company that is in line with the values and goals we all have here at Taylor Gang.”

The deal includes hits such as “The Thrill,” “Black and Yellow” and “See You Again,” the latter two of which were nominated for Grammy Awards.
