Will Smith has made it clear that he wants grandchildren — and he plans to haunt his son, Jaden, for them until he gets his wish.

In an Instagram post he made on Saturday (July 8), the elder Smith wanted to know what his son was doing that was keeping him from making the third generation of Smiths.

“Happy Birthday, J-Diggy. It’s crazy that you’re 25?!?!” he wrote. “When I was 25 I had a 2 yr. old… I’m just sayin’… Wha’s up? What you doin’ over there? BTW, this is my favorite picture of us.”

The ‘two-year-old’ that Smith is referring to is his eldest son, Trey, whom he shares with ex-wife Sherry Zampino. He is now 30.

While Will Smith has certainly had his fair share of cringe dad moments, he’s also more than demonstrated that he’s a proud papa — and that he gets inextricable joy in watching his children shine.

Back in April, he found himself having a proud dad moment watching Willow and Jaden Smith perform at Coachella.

The Bad Boys actor took to Instagram to share footage of Willow’s Coachella set from the weekend. “WILLOWCHELLA!!” he captioned the post, which sees Will grinning from ear-to-ear as he watches his daughter perform.

Later on in the show, Willow and her brother Jaden performed their “Summertime in Paris” collaboration.

In a separate post he made the following day, the Academy Award-winning actor highlighted another segment from Willow’s captivating performance, writing in the caption: “I can’t stop crying.”

There seems to be a lot of happiness in Will Smith’s life at the moment. He was recently spotted filming the fourth installment of the Bad Boys franchise, and new photos show the actor/rapper having a great time on set.

The photos showed the 54-year-old actor smiling from cheek-to-cheek while on set in Atlanta as he pats the backs of co-workers. The photos are the first update to arrive after Smith and Martin Lawrence first revealed plans for a Bad Boys 4 back in January.

Sony Pictures confirmed to Variety that Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are both on board to direct Bad Boys 4. The most recent film in the series, 2020’s Bad Boys For Life, raked in $426.5million at the worldwide box office, 25 years after 1995’s Bad Boys original collected $141million globally.
