Last year it was reported that 2Pac’s next double album was going to drop in late November of 2001, obviously November came and went without a new Pac album. The album will appear under the Death Row imprint and will be distributed by Interscope. Apparently, that is the problem. Word is that Interscope and Jimmy Iovine want a large portion of the sales but are refusing to make the release any kind of priority and will not give it any significant promotion.
Death Row and the Shakur Estate are putting all the work into preparing the album and they do not feel it is fair that Interscope wants such a large portion. I don’t quite understand why Interscope would not want to make this album a priority when 2Pac still sells so many records, the same goes for the promotion.
