Westside Gunn has claimed that Canada’s border control was “racist” towards him and stated he’s “never going back” to the country again.

The Buffalo, New York native took to X (formerly known as X) on Saturday (February 17) to voice his frustration with the way he was treated by authorities while attempting to travel across the border.

Westside Gunn also posted a video of him driving back home across the Rainbow Bridge, with the Toronto skyline visible behind him.

He also held up a piece of paper to the camera that read “ALLOWED TO LEAVE CANADA” and listed his birth name, Alvin Lamar Worthy, date of birth and country of citizenship.

“Disrespectful muthafuckas won’t let me in Canada, man. For real. Disre-fucking-spectful, man,” he vented. “Allowed to leave Canada. These muthafuckas is crazy, man.

“Find out somebody put the call in so I can’t get in the country no more, man. What’s good? That’s how you do me? That’s how you do me, Canada?”

Westside Gunn isn’t the only rapper to experience issues at the Canadian border. In November 2022, Roddy Rich claimed he was denied entry into the country after being “harassed.”

“The Federal Border Patrol did not allow me into Vancouver, CA. I apologize to my fans,” he said at the time. “I don’t believe I’ll be revisiting Canada anytime soon because they’ve harrassed me everytime I’ve come and Imma be completely honest, I’m tired of the harassment.”

Afroman also ran into trouble in June 2023, albeit of his own doing. Law enforcement officials discovered marijuana lotion on him, resulting in him being detained for five hours and fined $500. His DJ was also fined $500 for weed gummies.

Westside Gunn previously ran into travel issues last year when he canceled his European tour on the day he was set to perform in Amsterdam.

The Griselda boss claimed he was $50,000 out of pocket and wouldn’t be able to provide refunds to fans because he hadn’t been paid for the tour himself.

“It was nothing more I wanted to do than to start seeing my supporters around the world,” he wrote on Instagram.
