      1. Most definitely. I voted for Section.80 because that deserves it just as much. but personally I feel like Danny Brown XXX is slept on. that was classic.

Also, G-Side “The One.. Cohesive” and Shabazz Palaces “Black Up” , Roots “undun”, Common “the dreamer the believer”

    1. Oneirology should be an option too. Also, is there any doubt what the staff pick is going to be? You only gave one (completely deserving) album a perfect score this year.

    2. I understand covering all basis and tastes with having the Carter 4 (even though 90% of the site hates him) but The Game in the top 10?? Elzhi or Big K.R.I.T deserve a nomination of the RED Album which is FILLLED with features.

    3. Voted for Section 80. Nothing beats that in my opinion.

But where the fuck is Hell the sequel and Take Care?

The RED album is trash compared to the other gems that came out this year.

    4. drop game (which i enjoyed but lets be honest not great) and j cole and give me radioactive by yelawolf and bad meets evil…..regardless im voting All 6s and 7s

    5. two best albums this year, for my money, were Lasers and Finally Famous. I dont give a shit that those albums had a commercial sound, that shouldnt automatically disqualify them from being great albums, cuz they were.
No, Lasers wasnt FnL or the Cool, but it wasnt trying to be. It might be the best commercial, major label, mass appeal album thats been put out in recent history. All you stans that hated Lasers were expecting FoodnLiquor. its a totally different album with a whole different concept and sound than that. Get over it, Lupe still had great shit to say, just with beats and hooks that appeal to the masses. Pretentious hip hop purists that hate anything slightly mainstream annoy the fuck outta me.

And Finally Famous was dope as hell as well. The production is probably the best on any album this year, thanks to No ID. and Sean gave a great effort on most of the tracks, I honestly dont understand why people on HHDX give him so much heat, dude can spit and has a unique, catchy flow that doesnt get boring after a few listens (im lookin at you, Wayne, Game, Curren$y, etc.)

    6. I cosign that evidence’s album cats and dogs was to ill, but urrr out of the list I would probably pick between Phonte and The roots. Saigon album was dope but I preferred other albums. Oh yeah and common I have only heard two joints from the album (ghetto dreams and sweet) but it sounds like the album will be fire.

    7. Heard 8/10 of these. Of those, in order…

      Roots
      Kendrick
      Phonte
      Saigon
      Tech N9ne
      Jay-Z/Kanye
      J. Cole
      Wayne

…but I’d put Pharoahe Monch above all of them.

    8. I go with undun and Section 80

      Hell the sequel flopped

      R.E.D Sucks

C4 is wack as fuck , so is this lil homo

J.Cole album was good but not great

Oh and yeah drake take care , i don’t know how could someone even think about voting take care

      1. #Section80 made it to number one on itunes the first night it was released. It didnt have the backing of all these fucked up pop stations and a major label. Whether or not you think it flopped, you can’t deny is was fucking INSANE

    9. Definitely going with All 6’s and 7’s, but Cats & Dogs, Oneirology and Honkey Kong should all have been on the list. I know you’ve gotta have some mainstream stuff on there but WTT, R.E.D. Album and Sideline Story particularly sucked. I know the Roots album is gonna be amazing but I refuse to listen to it until I can afford to buy the CD.

    10. No Bad Meets Evil ? Not a stan, but i see WTT and Carter 4 up there. Carter got 3stars and BME got 4stars, how the hell is BME not there ? Most obvious snub ! Regardless, I voted for Greatest Story Never Told !

    11. So what HHDX is saying is “Take Care” wasn’t good enough to be an option but R.E.D. album is? okidoki, never visiting this lame, biased site again.

      1. And your dickriding ass isn’t bias? Take Care was a very average album, it was probably out of Take Care, C4 and RED Album, 2/3 would go through and make the final 10 despite all being average albums. Game fans would have cried if Red wasn’t there. Wayne fans would have started harassing bridges. And like a drake fan, you’re getting emotional.

      2. Take Care was a let down no doubt, just a rapper-turned-singer constantly whining about girl troubles. Monotonous shit. R.E.D. Album was very good compared to Tha Carter IV, Watch the Throne, & Take Care. I don’t get why it undersold so badly but it was one of the few albums that actually lived up to its hype.

      1. “Just know I don’t make music for niggas who don’t get pussy so those are the ones I count on to diss and overlook me”

      2. I have a friend who doesn’t even listen to rap, listenes to rock and gets plenty of pussy, Drakes statement is wack and pure bs.

      1. Game Sucks…. All He Does Is Name Drop…. And He Tries So Hard On His Persona Of Being A Gangster When He Soft Like Your Butt Hole…. Faggot

    12. Finally Famous was crazy dope and a solid fuckin piece of work deff got my vote for album of the year. Hell 2 was fuckin sick roo

    13. “Oneirology” by CunninLynguists
      “Cinemetropolis” by Blue Scholars
“In Case I Don’t Make It” by Has-Lo
      “The Earn” by yU
“Highlighter” by People Under the Stairs
“The Dreamer, The Believer by Common
      “W.A.R” by Pharoahe Monch

all deserve to be options on this list…moreso than most of the albums on that list.

    14. Best album? Gutter Rainbows by Talib Kweli, but favorite album? Welcome To Strangeland by Tech N9ne, as long as Wayne doesn’t win though I’ll be relatively happy

    15. If only eLmatic wasn’t a tribute. Bar for bar, that would be Album of the year on any given sunday. It deserves a mention though…

    16. Unpopular choice but I’m pulling for Saigon greatest story never told, the fact the material still stands up against the current style after being recorded 4 years ago really speaks volumes about the quality.

With that said, Phonte and Kendrick’s albums were a toss up, Phonte’s style is a lot more original but it’s cool seeing Kendrick keep harder rap alive and relevant.

Surprised I didn’t see Evidence on this list.

    17. Are you guys gonna name top 25 (or 50 lots of good shit this year) of the best CDs of the year like you guys did last year?

Hopefully you not just ppaying one LP

Lots of hard work and great music this year boy boy.

    18. C’mon now hiphopdx what the fuck is wrong with you people!!

      EVIDENCE!!!!!! CATS & DOGS!!!!!
      PHAROAHE MONCH – W.A.R.!!!!
      CUNNINLYNGUISTS – ONEIROLOGY!!!
ALCHEMIST & OH NO – GUTTER WATER!!!
      BIG K.R.I.T. – RETURN OF 4EVA!!!
PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS – HIGHLIGHTER!!!

      The list goes on

    19. Apathy hong kong
      brotha lynch hung coathanga strangla
      styles p master of ceremonies
Jedi Mind Tricks Violence Begets Violence
Reef the Lost Cauze Your Favorite MC
Kool G Rap Riches, Royalty, Respect

    20. Finally, we had a year full of fire albums…making it a tough choice, but i’m going Greatest Story Never Told…shits been done 06-07? and still was the bomb!! Another sleeper (and everytime this man drops, its a banger!) is Blitz The Amabssador ‘Native Sun’& oh, Stic.man’s “The Workout” was classic and the lyrics are pure inspirational, some real hip hop you can play for grandmother down to your toddler

      aside from that, ofcourse:
      Section 80
      W.A.R
      Charity Starts At Home
      Return of 4eva
      undun
      cats and dogs
i found my backpack 2 just to name a few

      uhuru!

    21. SHABAZZ PALACES – BLACK UP SHABAZZ PALACES – BLACK UP SHABAZZ PALACES – BLACK UP SHABAZZ PALACES – BLACK UP SHABAZZ PALACES – BLACK UP SHABAZZ PALACES – BLACK UP SHABAZZ PALACES – BLACK UP SHABAZZ PALACES – BLACK UP SHABAZZ PALACES – BLACK UP SHABAZZ PALACES – BLACK UP SHABAZZ PALACES – BLACK UP

It’s fuckin shame that fuckin hiphopsite did not review probably best hiphop LP in decade

    22. DX, I am really disappointed in you. Bad Meets Evil was one of the most hottest hip hop album of the year. And Take Care is much better than the Red Album which didn’t seem original at all.

    23. gotta go with saigons that is a great album and the way each track is mixed in with the radio skits sounds like a fuckin movie

pharoh monch should of been on there tho and covert coup currensy and alchemist was pretty dope as well

    24. Cole because it’s the most well rounded effort. Lost Ones, Never Told, Rise and Shine, Can’t Get Enough…Cole can make any type of track. Kendrick and Saigon’s albums are dope as hell but they can’t really make fun tracks like Cole did with Cole World, Can’t Get Enough and Work Out. Gotta have a a balance….

    25. hold up! Wait till Common’s album drops!!!!
but out of those choices, I gotta pick Watch the Throne although I havent listened to UnDun.

    26. 1. J. Cole – Cole World: A Sideline Story
      Game – The R.E.D. Album
Saigon – The Greatest Story Never Told
Jay-Z & Kanye West – Watch The Throne
      Raekwon – Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang
Lil Wayne – Tha Carter IV
      Kendrick Lamar – Section.80
      8. The Roots – undun

      1. and the fact that u have lil wayne better than undun and section 80 and u have j cole and game as ure top 2 shows even more how retarded u r

    27. I chose Red album because it had classic songs.Ricky, the City, mama knows, born in the trap are amazing.Plus it seems his album gets a lot of hate cause it flopped.WTT would be the runner up,great album with classic meaningful tracks

    28. UNDUN is a CLASSIC
-i have Watch the Throne(grew on me),
      -Charity Starts at Home(solid album),
-Cole World(good album Charity Starts at Home is better),
-Greatest Story Never Told(unexpectedly good but not a Classic), -Carter IV(okay at best the worst of those I listed)
-Raekwon(solid album got a couple stand out songs).
Haven’t heard the others but its safe to say UNDUN is the best one

    29. Hard choice, went with saigon as every track on that album is a banger, could have gone phonte, the roots or watch the throne, but SAIGON & JUST BLAZE tooo good

    30. Dom Kennedy- From the Westside with Love II.
      K Dot- Section .80
WTT shouldn’t be in the running.
Hearing good things bout dis roots album.

    31. Why don’t they have Lasers, Ambitions, Take Care, or Bad Meets Evil? I don’t know, maybe I’m to mainstream, but those all are legitimate albums.

    32. all of you are mad, its undun then section 80 and phonte, and i dont know why evidence’s cats and dogs isnt in the running, but basically those are the top albums

    33. how can the carter 4 and the R.E.D. album be included in the album of the year list? are you shitting me?! carter 4 was the biggest piece of garbage this year, listen to the lyrics its terrible.R.E.D. was a big flop too. How can you have these 2 whack albums and no take care, hell the sequel, ambition? hiphopdx editors are clowns

      1. Nah dude. You re the one with the teardrop make up and the honky nose if you really think any of those gay pop albums you mentioned deserves a spot. Please hop back into your miniature car with your 37 clown friends pumping the same horrible wack shit and drive off a miniature cliff.

    34. This is pure BS. How can Cunnylinguists Oneirology not be on that list? The fuck is wrong with hiphop these days if true masterpieces like that get no recognition and audio BS like carter 4, watch the throne and all this crap get on years end lists?!? Ya kiddin me?!?

I d still have voted for undun but hhdx ignorance is on another level of get the fuck outta here.

    35. damn…well Common, Action Bronson, and Pharoahe Monch’s albums were the 3 best to me…still havent heard the roots (im sure its the best) but next in line for me is Section 80 so i chose it..SUCKA!

    36. And dont be corballs and vote for WTT people, they already made their money and the album only had like 5 good songs…time for the little people to succeed. Phonte needs some votes lol

    38. Last year you guys posted top 25 albums, with little blurbs about all of them. And I remember Ghostface’s Apollo Kids made the list having been released like on christmas day or somewhere near.

So it’s possible common could join the list. But looking back man there are tons of great hip hop 2011 this year rappers stepped it up from underground to mainstream.

Last year said 250 CD’s were released. This year spawned probably the same if not more.

People co sign my post to get DX attention to make it TOP 25!!!

Cant make it top album, and it definitely cant be selected from only 10 LP’s

      1. Ps. Think about it. 12 months, 4 weeks where every Tuesday at least 3-5 cd’s drop. That’s (average) 17.5 a month. Times that by 12 months and we looking at (again, average on 3-5 CDs a week) 210 CD’s

    39. BIG SEAN – ALMOST FAMOUS

    44. OK OUT OF THIS LIST I PICK TECH N9NE 1ST SECTION 80 WAS GOOD THE ROOTS AND PHONTE WERE OK IM NOT A BIG FAN I DID NOT LISTEN TO SAIGON OR RAEKWON SO I DONT KNOW AND OTHER NEVER WINS SO EVERYTHING ELSE WAS TRASH!!!!!!!

    45. Here is my pick of the best Bunch of albums.
      On the inside lane is
1.Saigon-Greatest story never told-the best this year.
      2.Kendrick Lamar-Section 80
      3.The game-Red
      4.The roots-Undun

How the fuck are you gonna pit a mediocre Lil Gayne album in contention for this.

    46. Immortal Technique – The Martyr.
I haven’t gone more than 2 days without it since it became available. Simply awesome.

    47. wtt…it was just a great album…takecare?…lol…second i have to go with jcole….best mixtape has to be banks cc2 and luda and then 50…

    48. Top 15 Albums of 2011:

      15. Slaughterhouse – The EP
      14. Royce Da 59 – Success Is Certain
      13. Bad Meets Evil – Hell: The Sequel
      12. Evidence – Cats & Dogs
      11. Styles P – Master of Ceremonies
      10. J Cole – Cole World: The Sideline Story
      9. Phonte – Charity Starts At Home
      8. Tech N9ne – All 6’s and 7’s
      7. Kendrick Lamar – Section 80

      3. Pharoahe Monch – W.A.R. (We Are Renegades)
      2. The Roots – Undun
      1. Common – The Dreamer, The Believer

    49. I should add that this year has been one of the best years for hip hop in the last few years, hands down. Also, I was not a fan of Watch The Throne, just wasn’t for me so I did not list it. The list is my personal opinion.

      1. No it wasn’t. It actually was quite disappointing as hell.

Kendrick Lamar or The Roots should be the only ones fit for such a discussion. Both LPs were executed perfectly and were great displays of pure MC skills and concepts.

      2. This Flamboyant dude is all fucked up. What the fuck kind of standards do you have if WAR disappointed you?!! Shit man, that joint ‘Evolve’ on its own makes the album deserve to be on this list.

    50. where the hell is Hell: The Sequel ????? Nobody’s giving credit to Em because a black nigga shared the spotlight with him, huh ? I bet if Hell: The Sequel was Em’s solo project, his name will be all over this site. Fine, i voted saigion, but not fair, HTS is suppose to be there !

    51. CunninLynguists – Oneirology not on the list? DX is tripping! My other winners? The Roots – undun & Big K.R.I.T.

      1. Sales have absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the music, with that logic you might as well write-in Lady Gaga

    52. Phonte & Roots albums were brilliantly executed and the best album of the year but Section 80 was the most breathtaking and exciting, has to go to Kendrick this year for me.

    53. Apathy hong kong
      brotha lynch hung coathanga strangla
      styles p master of ceremonies
Jedi Mind Tricks Violence Begets Violence
Reef the Lost Cauze Your Favorite MC
Kool G Rap Riches, Royalty, Respect
      not these pop albums

    54. Last year you guys posted top 25 albums, with little blurbs about all of them. 55. this album list is lame and played out ! you should call it “best mainstream 2011 album list”
      or 2011 rap top sellers
this is my list (no particular order) :

      Cunninlynguists – oneirology
      reks – REKS
      Apathy – honkey kong
      Statik Selektah – population control
san quinn – guns oil and drugs recession proof
      outerspace – my brother’s keeper
      action bronson – well done
      the roots – undun
jedi mind tricks – violence begets violence
reef the lost cauze – your favorite MC
Wu-Tang Clan – legendary weapons (not one single quote???)

      word

    56. 1. Game – The R.E.D. Album

      3. DJ Quik – The Book Of David
      4. Jay Z Kanye – WTT
      5. Jay Rock – Follow Me Home

    57. Top 15 Albums of 2011:

      15. Slaughterhouse – The EP

      1. Common – The Dreamer, The Believer

      Good year for Hip-Hop

    58. Suddenly all the gamehaterz have gone away!?RED is one of the best but for me BROTHA LYNCH HUNG -THE COATHANGA……is the best in 2011!In 2012 the westcoast will be takin over the fuckin game!

    59. We didn’t leave your favorite artist’s album off this list in an effort to drive up page views. Nope. We never do stuff like that around here.

    60. NO DOUBT,R.E.D ALBUM
      THE CITY
      RICKY
      BORN IN DA TRAP
      MARTIAN VS GOBLIN
      POT OF GOLD
      RED NATION
      GOOD GIRL GO BAD
      THE GOOD,THE BAD,THE UGLY
      SPEAKER ON BLAST
      ALL I KNOW

    61. dont just vote for ur favorite artist. If you listened to it you would know deep down that greatest story never told is the best album of the year. Just blaze produces every song and saigon is a great rapper. It tells stories, has great hooks and beats, etc. Kendrick Lamar lyrically did it on Section80 but there was no production to match that of just blaze.

    62. What about the Atmosphere Album??? Jesus fucking christ Cole World sucked, WTT sucked, Red was a dissapointment. CARTER IV=WORST ALBUM OF THE YEAR ALONG WITH DRAKES ALBUM AS WELL MAINSTREAM DUDES ARE LAME FUCK THEM THEY DON’T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT THE FANS

    63. I wanted to put the Gangrene EP #1, but I thought I should choose a full-length LP instead, so it was choice between Ap’s superb Honkey Kong and Ev’s equally impressive Cats & Dogs. I opted for the latter simply because it’s fresher in my memory, but either record deserves to win.

    64. tech n9ne all the way 6s AND 7S BEST ALBUM OF THE YEAR ….. with all tthe featured names and hes just the best at what he does has a relation with his fans bout the only one who actually talks real…. true life matters not jjust his cloths big cars all the crap doesnt really matter in life

    65. Tech N9ne’s all 6’s & 7’s is by far the best album. alot people need to just take a listen and it will open your eyes to a true emcee and the most skilled in the game. Real Talk

    66. DX, y’all trippin for not having CunninLynguists – Oneirology already on the pole. Makin me type that shit in…

    67. definately a tough choice between All 6’s & 7’s, undon, and Section.80. I definately think Cunninlynguists – Oneirology should have been on here as well.

    68. Watch the Throne! Yea, its a whole lotta bragging, but the album uses experimentation to a very universally accepted level. Our listeners have loved every single that has dropped from it!

    69. Top 10 (no particular order)

      Evidence – Cats & Dogs
      Atmosphere – The Family Sign
      The Roots – Undun
      Swollen Members – Dagger Mouth
      DoomTree – No Kings
Lyrics Born – As You Were
      Dessa – False hopes
Sweatshop Union – The Bill Murray EP
Jedi Mind Tricks – Violence Begets Violence
      MadChild – M.A.D.E (mix-tape, produced by Madlib)

      1. Good list, light on east coast tho…

Ol boy is hatin ur taste”white boy” but looks like he same cat who dig that whack f**k skyzoo

      1. Even being an EP it should be on the list.. deluxe CD had 11 songs royce and Em killed it lyrically throughout that shit

    70. why are niggas on here getting on people for liking c4, if people liked c4 then let them be damn….i mean i liked it but it could have been better. wayne can do better than that shyt….i give it like 7 out of 10. best album of 2011 to me is either section 80 or that bad meets evil shyt.

    71. Top 5 lps. Evidence cats and dogs, Action bronson well done, M.O.P Sparta, kendrick lamar section 80, Cormega raw forever

I HAD A HARD TIME FINDING THESE BAD ALBUM RELEASE DATES SO IM SURE IM MISSING SOME BUT LIKE I SAID 2012 IS THE YEAR FOR MUSIC

    75. Hard decision for me, but had to go with KL. Section 80 reminded me a lot of Pac, and it was dirty. Cole world was good, so was watch the throne. Shaolin vs Wu Tang and Charity starts at home were also really dope. Good year for hip hop

    76. Nigga females don’t care too much about hip hop, just panty dropping music so who gives a fuck about what they think. And who do you think finally famous is for. So that’s why it didn’t make the list.

    77. Grieves – “Together/Apart”, Eligh and Amp Live – “Therapy at 3”, or Royce Da 5’9 – “Success Is Certain”

    78. 2012 MENTIONS FOR WORSE ALBUM.

      5)TYLER THE FAG “PUPPY”

      4)KID CUDI PG13 RAPS

I HAD A HARD TIME FINDING THESE BAD ALBUM RELEASE DATES SO IM SURE IM MISSING SOME BUT LIKE I SAID 2012 IS THE YEAR FOR MUSIC

    79. What should vote for: Saigon “Greatest Story Never Told,” Yelawolf “Radioactive,” Raekwon “Shaolin Vs. Wu-Tang,” or Apathy “Honkey Kong” (Why isn’t it a choice?!)??!!

    80. SAIGON, longest and dopest album up there, 20 tracks can’t skip one of them, roots album was dope, as was wtt, reks, phonte, Raekwon, R.E.D could have been dope too many shit tracks, commons new one sounds dope, Elzhi ELMATIC was dope, pharoae monch W.A.R. Should be up there for sure!

    81. how about 9th wonder- the wonder years
its a great compilation that show how good 9th wonder is on the boards so fuck all them top 10 radio rappers like lil wayne, drake, any other crakkkers that tries to be black

      1. agreed it was dope album, i reckon his production on phontes album was better. dont know why they only put 10 albums on the list there was so many sick albums this year

    82. Ok how come The Roots UnDun was the only album that got the perfect 5 stars from hiphopdx this year, yet it wasn’t even nominated by them????? doesn’t make any sense

    83. far as im concerned:
      Apathy-Honky Kong
      Classified-Hand Shakes and Middle Fingers
      Evidence- Cats & Dogs
      Pharaohe Monch-W.A.R.

possibly the newer Reef the Lost Cauze,Jedi Mind Tricks,Snowgoons albums.

      1. Yes. Exactly; These are some of the very best Albums this year (Top 10), but I’d exhcance W.A.R. (even though its superb) for that R.E.K.S. it goes mad hard!! Theres been a fiar share of great Albums in 2011 Tbh

    84. damn man, dis was tough. I dnt think the albulm’s were all that great but there were some good ones. I didnt wanna vote WTT (cuz I think it’s gonna win anyways) but as a complete albulm, I jus dnt know which albulm was better from head to toe..Yea the lyricism wasnt that great but the energy, production and just song topics were all there. Songs u can bump in the car(Otis,in Paris, what you need, ham) & deeper songs(Murder to Excellence,New Day, made it in America). It took time for it to grow on me and the albulm cud’ve been better and ofcourse there’s some skippable tracks but it’s just the most complete.
      My 5:
      1.WTT
      2.the dreamer,the believer
      3.Cole World:sideline story
      4.Ambition
      5.Take Care

    85. All 6’s and 7’s and it’s not even close (well, it shouldn’t be close). WTT’s prob gonna win though :/

    86. Style’s P Master of Ceremonies was better than C4 and the Red Album and TM 103. All these niggas had so many guest appearances and radio friendly Bull Crap on they Album…
If you think C4 was good then just kill yoself

    87. Top 5
      Foo Fighters-Wasting Light
      Jay/Kanye-Watch The Throne
      Styles P-Master of Ceremonies
      Chili Peppers-I’m with you
      Cold Play- Mylo Zyloto

Real Hip hop is mostly dead. Liberate your mind my niggas.

      1. wtf? im with you was pretty lame, red hots worst album since one hot minute. felt like a red hot chilli peppers parody.

      2. Im with you isn’t my Favorite RHCP album but it has grown on me. Stadium Arcadium was their best work IMO. But I’m with you was still better than pretty much every Hip-Hop album this year so far.

      3. I’m With You was a good album, better than Stadium Arcadium in my opinion. Got a lot of plays from me. Coldplay’s new one was good too, also got a lot of plays.

      4. Cold Play and Peppers news albums suck. If you’re going to listen to rock dont be a pussy about it. Throw on some Black Dahlia Murder and crank that bitch to 11

      1. Because only half of the album is good. Too many forced songs trying for radio play. He’s got talent, that’s evident. However, he needs to decide who he is as an artist – “Mr. Nice Watch” or “Breakdown”.

He just didn’t straddle that line between being mainstream and making the music he really wants to make very well. The album felt disjointed because of it.

    88. Saigon had the best album in my opinion. The tracks just blended into each other and the story was great maybe not the greatest ever told but it should have sold

    89. I voted undun because it is definitely the best ALBUM of the year. It’s been years since I’ve heard an album that ambitious and complete from beginning to end.

However, Pharaohe Monch “W.A.R.”, Torae “For The Record”, Elzhi “Elmatic”, and Reks “R.E.K.S” where much better than some of the other albums on there.

    90. Best album of year goes to the Outlawz – Perfect Timing.
2pacs group killed it! Dope production and deep lyrics!!!!

      Outlawz – Perfect Timing
      Outlawz – Perfect Timing
      Outlawz – Perfect Timing
      Outlawz – Perfect Timing

    91. I Think That Tech N9ne Deserves it This year for all 6s and 7s perfect album but to be honest there was dam alot of good albums this year so good luck for who ever’s going to win it this year

      1. I preferred welcome to strangeland but voted for all 6’s and 7’s…I thought section 80 was average but everyone jumped on the hype train. I also thought undun was dull and far too short but I guess it’s a matter of taste

    92. I’m a diehard Game fan, but I have a bigger look on Hip Hop. First of all: where is ‘Masters Of Ceremonies’? Where is ‘Monumental’? But okay, from this list, my top 3 will be:

      – The Greatest Story Never Told
      – The R.E.D. Album
      – Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang

2011 has been a great year for Hip Hop though…

    93. 1. undun – The Roots
      2. Section80 – Kendrick
      3. Return of 4Eva – Big K.R.I.T. (yeah call it a mixtape if you want, but it was better than almost everything put out this year)
      4. W.A.R. – Pharoahe Monch
      5. Charity Starts at Home – Phonte

      1. I bought Radioactive and thought it was an decent album but yelawolf could have done much better…..choruses and beats…..

    94. So many Great Albums this year.

      1. Tech N9ne all 6’s and 7’s
      2. Bad Meets Evil Hell The sequal
      3. Kendrick – Section.80
      4. Yelawolf Radioactive
      5. Royce Da 5’9 Success Is Certain
      6. Brotha Lynch – Coathanga Strangla
      7. Jay Rock – Follow Me Home
      8. Game – R.E.D Album
      9. Glasses Malone – Beachcruiser
      10. Tyler The Creator – GOBLIN.
Honorable mentions Watch The Throne(Not a Big Hov or Ye fan anymore.) Mellowhype Blackendwhite. Tech N9ne welcome too Strangeland. B.O.B EPIC. Absoul – Longterm mentallity.
My picks. Dont care who likes it. Im A big Royce Fan, his solo album was dope and slept on. Glasses malone didnt really sell units but still A dope album too bump out the car. And this was Tech N9ne’s year. Strange Music running the Indi game.

    95. you guyz @ Dx shud Categorise this album of the year sh*t
my friend J rock 4 vs Game for best gangsta Album i think game got it this time cuz he gave us bout 6 albums worth of songs. j cole or roots and 4 me roots UNDun. ama leave it there b4 my boss fires me.

    96. I had to give it to my man K. Dot. I’ve listened to Section. 80 non stop sense it dropped and it still goes hard. P.S. the new Common is really good.

    97. good choices offered, a big enough variety of good and mainstream to keep everyone happy.

      1. The Roots – undun
      2. Immortal Technique – The Martyr
      3. Phonte – Charity Starts At Home
      4. Bad Meets Evil – Hell: The Sequel
      5. Raekwon – Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang
      6. Common – The Dreamer, The Believer
      7. Pharoah Monche – W.A.R.
      8. Kendrick Lamar – Section.80
      9. Childish Gambino – Camp
      10. Tech N9ne Collabos – Welcome To Strangeland
Honorable Mentions-Saigon – Greatest Story Never Told, Royce da 5’9″ – Success is Certain, Talib Kweli – Gutter Rainbows, Tech N9ne – All 6’s and 7’s, Hopsin – Raw.

    99. They included “Tha Carter IV” and Cole’s mediocre “Cole World: The Sideline Story,” but omitted “Take Care” from the list (although it had a significantly higher critical rating)? On the grounds of not being inherently “hip-hop,” I presume? In any event, my vote goes to Kendrick’s Section 80.

    100. This list is played out mainstream bullshit, bunch of cookie cutter rappers chasing each other around like dogs n tails. Only half way original r saigon n new roots album the rest don’t even make good coasters.
Bunch of teenage white dudes arguin about whether the game or lil wayne had better album….

    101. The TOP 5 OF THE YEAR

      1. Section 80 – Kendrick Lamar
      2. The Greatest Story Ever Told – Saigon
      3. The Dreamer/The Believer – Common
      4. Undun – The Roots
      5. The R.E.D. Album – The Game
      6. Book Of David – DJ Quik
      7. All 6’s And 7’s – Tech N9ne
      8. Charity Starts At Home – Phonte
      9. Cole World – J. Cole
      10. Watch The Throne – The Throne

      1. It was pretty underwhelming but it was better then most of the other bullshit songs like Murder To Excellence and New Day are alone enough to put it in the top 10. Though I do think Kanye is running out of samples and this album should have been done in the blueprint era done way to late and forced with Jay-Z 14 years past his prime. This should be the present day Firm flop nothing unique and everything underwhelming for a producer like Kanye and legend Jay-Z but none the less still in the top 10 at 10 in my opinion even though I didn’t like at least 5 songs on it

    102. What about Apathy’s “Honkey Kong?” AND what about 9th Wonder’s “The Wonder Years?” I know there are others I just can’t think right now..At least Mac Miller’s album wasn’t up there! Same with Wiz Khalifa!

    103. Probably these albums of 2011 that i heard will be on the list:

      The Roots – undun
Saigon – The Greatest Story Never Told
      Shabbaz Palaces – Black Up
Phonte – Charity Starts At Home
      J. Cole – Cole World: A Sideline Story
      Childish Gambino – Camp
      Common – The Dreamer/The Believer

      Greetings from Brazil!

    104. My Favorites of this year:

      1. The Roots-UnDun
      2. Tech N9ne-All 6’s & 7’s
      3. Common-The Dreamer/The Believer
      4. Kendrick Lamar-Section 80
      5. Bad Meets Evil-Hell: The Sequel
      6. Elzhi-Elmatic
      7. Big K.R.I.T.-R4
      8. Evidence-Cats And Dogs
      9. Watch The Throne
      10. Slaughterhouse EP
