DXnext alumni, Inglewood’s U-N-I are releasing an album today (March 31) for free download. From their website [click here], A Love Supreme marks the duo’s second full-length release, after 2007’s Fried Chicken & Watermelon.
The release, sharing its name with a famed John Coltrane album, is a commentary on life and limited time on earth.
Thurzday told DX of the work, “This album represents who we are and where we’ve came from at this very moment. Every event in our lives have sculpted us and taught us to have a supreme appreciation of life, because tomorrow is not promised…..thus, U-N-I.“
Y-O added, “A Love Supreme represent who we are as regular human beings, outside of [life as] an artist. We’re just blessed enough to come up with creative ways to share our stories in catchy ways. It’s a trailer to our lifestyle on wax, with Ro Blvd. behind the production, you’re able to see the picture. Live life because the next hour is not promised….A Love Supreme.”
Tomorrow (April 1), U-N-I will honor the release with a party and performance at Los Angeles’ legendary Viper Room. For more information [click here].
