Tyler, The Creator has taken it back to his middle school days and unearthed a video of himself performing in a talent show as a youngster.

In the clip, which was posted on his Instagram, the future rap star can be seen dancing to Omarion‘s 2005 hit “Touch,” which was produced by The Neptunes.

Tyler’s caption revealed the clip was recorded in the mid 2000s during his time at Dana Middle School Hawthorne in California.

He also wrote of the clip on his Instagram Stories: “I really never been scared was always special green still my favorite color. The Tyrone Biggums lift up hahahahha.”

A number of Tyler’s friends and collaborators commented on the throwback footage, with Vince Staples joking: “N-gga lowered the mic stand on they ass.”

Chromakopia co-star Daniel Caesar added: “Nah there’s no way,” while CyHi The Prince wrote: “Back when you really had to have ‘Talent’ I miss those days.”

Busta Rhymes appeared to find the whole thing hilarious as he left a number of laughing emojis under the post.

In a follow-up Instagram Story, Tyler revealed some of his biggest inspirations from those days including Crunk Juice by Lil Jon,

by Snoop Dogg and Wanderland by Kelis.

He also said he was a fan of rock duo The White Stripes and their album Elephant, as well as Dave Chappelle’s Comedy Central sketch show.

Tyler, The Creator has been enjoying a bumper year thanks to the release of his latest album Chromakopia.

The star-studded and deeply personal project has been a huge commercial success for the 33-year-old, spending three weeks at number one on the Billboard 200 chart and selling over 500,000 copies in less than a month.

Chromakopia has also taken Tyler to new heights on the Billboard Hot 100, with “St. Chroma” and “Noid” becoming his first top 10 hits on the chart at number seven and number 10, respectively.

Tyler has since scored a third top 10 entry thanks to the GloRillaSexyy Red and Lil Wayne-assisted “Sticky,” which climbed to number 10 last month and has remained in high positions since.
