Tyler, The Creator and Lil Nas X have reacted to Azealia Banks‘ suggestion that they should become Hip Hop’s newest “power couple” — and their responses were wildly different.

The “212” rapper posted a typically outspoken message on Instagram on Sunday (April 7) addressing successful gay Black men dating “broke” white counterparts.

“I really think Tyler, The Creator and Lil Nas X should get over their obsession with broke white bussy and become a power couple,” she wrote. “I think the sensationalism of successful Black gay men toting trailer ass rent man hookers as arm candy is played, predictable, and they’re both obviously being objectified and plotted on by these boys for hire.

“It would be way more monumental to see two young Black gay men as an item. Even just for aesthetic reasons. The idea of spending the extra hardly earned Black male dollars on some cheap White buss is extra whack.”

Banks further argued her case in the caption, writing: “No more white Taco Bell eating Caucasian twinkery guys. The image is not giving. You two as an item would shift culture so hard.”

She then accused Nas of biting her style: “And Tyler can teach lil nas x how to rap so he can stop doing his Azealia Banks impression and fire all these weird white creative directors who obviously have no point of references or respect for the nuance, sheer musical opulence and political groundwork laid out for him to inherit.”

Tyler caught wind of Banks’ lengthy post and responded in the comments section, appearing mostly confused. “Lmfao, what the hell?” he wrote.

Lil Nas X, on the other hand, jokingly welcomed a romance with the Flower Boy rapper. “Azealia Banks is right! Me and Tyler SHOULD fuck!” he wrote in a since-deleted post on X.

He didn’t, however, address Banks’ disparaging comments about his music.

The “Old Town Road” hitmaker isn’t the only famous figure to have expressed interest in Tyler, The Creator recently.

During an episode of his new comedy docuseries that aired last month, Jerrod Carmichael confronted the Odd Future founder over his crush on him.

During an intense and awkward face-to-face meeting, Carmichael revealed that he shared his feelings towards the rapper in 2021.

Tyler, who has hinted that he may be gay or bisexual in the past, responded by calling him a “stupid bitch.”

Explaining his response, Tyler said: “Getting news like that and then avoiding it is a way to avoid change. I didn’t think brushing that off and continuing regularly would be such a dent. I don’t know.”

Tyler also confessed to not seeing Carmichael in a romantic light: “That’s like a brother. That man’s like family.”
