Tyga has gotten himself some serious new ink, and it was apparently such a grueling process that he had to be put under anesthesia for it to be completed.

On Saturday (July 15), Los Angeles tattoo artist Joaquin Ganga posted a video of the “Rack City” rapper on TikTok, who can be seen lying face down on the table as multiple artists ink his back. Tyga was in the process of getting a massive tat of Jesus Christ on the cross, and Ganga wrote the rap artist was in a deep sleep.

Ganga’s massive new artwork comes shortly after the late TakeOff was honored with a gigantic mural compiled by multiple tattoo artists earlier this month, making it the largest tattoo artwork in the world according to the Guinness Book of World Records.

Per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, tattoo artist J.R. Outlaw and other fellow artists at Atlanta tattoo locations, including Atlanta Ink, Iron Palm Tattoos & Body Piercing, and Pèse Noir utilized a 79-foot piece of silicone skin to create a mural honoring the late Atlanta rap star. The mural itself features TakeOff rocking a spacesuit in brown, orange, and green colors.

“I think TakeOff was just a big influence in the city and the culture of Atlanta, like in general,” Outlaw told the outlet. “It was really the whole group. They made a real lasting impact on the city, so we just wanted to do something to memorialize him, and that’s really what it was about.”

Tyga’s new piece also comes after he and Avril Lavigne reportedly called it quits after just a few months of dating. The pair reportedly broke things off simply because of their busy schedules.

The pair were rumored to be dating back in February, with sources telling TMZ the two artists were seen “getting really comfortable around each other outside Nobu in Los Angeles.” They then went public with their relationship in March and were seen kissing and holding each other outside a Mugler x Hunter Schafer party in Paris, France.
