Tupac Disses Dr. Dre, JAY-Z, De La Soul & More In Handwritten “7 Day Theory” Liner Notes

An online auction site is offering up handwritten, extended liner notes for Tupac Shakur’s posthumous album The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory. In the letter allegedly written by Shakur with a ballpoint pen, he insults a variety of Hip Hop stars plus explicitly blames Jacques “Haitian Jack” Agnant and Walter “King Tut” Johnson for the infamous shooting at Quad Recording Studios in 1994.

The brash writing calls Dr. Dre a “[closet] homo,” sarcastically thanks Mobb Deep for letting him squash their “no record selling asses [to] dust, criticizes Nas and blasts De La Soul for being mad at him because they “live like fat washed up bums.” Shakur also takes shots at JAY-Z, Lil Kim, Faith Evans, Wendy Williams and Jimmy Henchman.

The last portion of the letter, beginning with “WAR TIME” in all capital letters, reads exactly as it does on the final version of The 7 Day Theory liner notes. The album was released a few months after Shakur’s murder in 1996.

The auction site, Gotta Have Rock And Roll, claims the liner notes were obtained from a very close family friend of Shakur. The minimum bid for the letter is $30,000.

      1. Your obviously lost in time then actually listen to him instead of referring to songs someone told u about youngin if u don’t know his music that’s one thing but attack one of the greatest musicians ever

        1. I’ve listened to a lot of Tupac. He’s far from the worst, but to label him as one of the greatest musicians ever?? Cmon man. His rhyme schemes are basic at best, his beat selection was subpar, and please don’t hit me with the “but he’s deep and it’s poetry” cop-out lol. Yes, he has some great songs and some 4 1/2 mic albums… So does MF Doom, Phonte, Outkast, Common etc. Pac is one of the biggest musicians, not one of the greats. Not a popular opinion, but if we go song for song, album for album, bar for bar, I can name plenty others
that are better…bet you could too.

          1. This is the truth. Honestly pac and Biggie got so much love especially after they passed. I can name 10 rappers better than pacin the East coast alone.

            1. Pac was the #1 rapper in the world when he was alive. The problem is that he was releasing material faster than the media could even keep up. Most of the world only got his true depth as it was being released after he died. What other rapper you know had people still thinking he faked his own death? Most people dont listen to Pac just for syllable wordplay. For that you have Black Thought or Elzhi. Pac is in a category of his own.

    1. He spoke the truth… all those people he called out, deep down inside they were probably happy he died. Imagine if Tupac was still around today, those he called out wouldn’t be as successful as they were after his death…

      1. That’s a STRONG reach to say Jay, Puff, or Dre wouldn’t be as successful after he died. At least one of those people he mentioned had his ass killed so you can “what if” the scenario all day long. Pac, like so many others had a big ass mouth and it cost him. Don’t forget that.

        1. He admitted he had a big mouth, however we all know Baby Lane killed Pac. The streets confirmed it. His uncle also confessed with full details on the exact events that occurred that night. No one on that list did anything. Pac getting himself involved in some Blood/Crip shit got his ass killed.

      1. Tekashi might have the same costume (colorful hair, face tats), but dude cant be put in the “Lil” category. Dude dont mumble rap and he dont auto tune. He staying true to that grimy NY rap shit. Give it a listen. Listen to the joint he did with Bodega Bamz, shit goes super hard.

    2. I’ve always said that had 2Pac lived, there would have been a civil war at Death Row. This crap just proves it.

    3. Tupac’s weakness was his arrogance and negativity, resulting in his death. Also an overrated rapper, top 30 at best.

        1. In no particular order for your bitch ass: Gift of Gab, Nas, Jay-Z, Eminem, Scarface, Lupe Fiasco, Gza, Method Man, Rakim, Andre 3000, Snoop, Biggie, Big Boi, Big Daddy Kane, Mos Def, Big Pun, Logic, Q-Tip, Chuck D, Kendrick Lamar, Royce Da 59, Black Thought, Kool G Rap, Apathy, Slug, OC, Too Short, Kurupt, Jadakiss, Treach. 2pac comes in at around top 30-40.

      1. 100% agree. I could never understand why people give this dude such a pass when lyrically he can’t hold up to… Hell, Black Thought, Lupe, Elzhi, Talib Kweli…I can EASILY go on. But “Pac is deep man. Pac spoke the truth!” STFU lmao. Dude was in his early 20s and lost as a mf lol

        1. That list you mentioned is full of dope lyricists, but none of them have passion when you listen to them. Pacs emotions were felt on every bar. His voice struck a cord with folks. He would say relatable shit. “Me and the homies smokin roaches, cause we broke” “I’m in a bucket, but I’m ridin it like it’s a Benz”. Not too many have reached that level.

Oh yeah, don’t ever bring up Talib Kweli when in a discussion about Pac. Fuk outta here, lol.

    4. How do we know its real? The family friend the auction site supposedly acquired it from could have easily wrote what they thought ‘Pac would have said.
Lol @ “her low self esteem and beat up pussy”.
It might be legit though, because he mentioned everyone he had beef with, even King Sun, who most people don’t remember. I don’t even know who Dukey Lock is. I’ve always wondered why he called out Jay-Z too. Jay never said anything about him or even anything that could have been interpreted about him, and was barely even famous prior to Pac’s death. Just because he was B.I.G. affiliated?

    5. Well, now, TuWack is dead and King HOV is filthy rich and still living. So who really won? It’s the ROC!

    6. Pac creatively gave us more more music than all them put together and he crashed n burned at 26. I listened to troublesome, hellrazor, till the end of time, pain, Street Fame, And some tracks from still I rise. This man was a gift for a short time. He knew it.

    7. 2pac for all the good music he gave us:he was still a b*tch:remember when he got robbed, the idiot shot himself, then lied about being shot 5x:He was a fucking dancer and he talks sheet about others:hhhmmmmm

    8. Maybe he wasn’t the most skillful rapper but top 30? C’mon he’s in your favorite rapper’s top 10. Unless you’re into lil pump and them.

    9. Great artist, but remember he was only 25. he was barely out of childhood n was still immature n ignorant.
      He still a legend though.

    10. 2pac was a fake rapper . Dr. Dre gave him one of his best songs (California love) and 2pac saying these things instead of thanks ?! And 2pac never had the balls to say these things in Dr. Dre’s face so he decided to talk behind his back when he was not in deathrow anymore. Thats how fake 2pac is .

    11. I hate when white people benefit from black culture n history. Don’t sell this stuff to white auctioneers n culture vultures

    12. 2pac was legend in his time was for black people he gave Hope to a win less stuiation I don’t care how old he was he help pioneer this give respect when respect is due talk real shit he was black like us

        1. Nah. Most of the stuff prevalent in hip hop now was started by him. Example Before 2pac not many rappers had that much Tattoo. #facts

    13. And ppl wonder why modern cats speak their opinion about Pac… Just let this guy rest in peace! Dafuq?

      1. And “Dead Presidents” is a 1000 times better than anything TuWack and Mobb Deep ever did combined.

        1. “Dead Presidents” is one of those original, classic Hip Hop Nas lines that has become a Hip Hop staple. I am out for dead presidents to represent me… It’s crazy how many rappers have used copied that Dead President concept.

      2. Lol. Go to Asia Europe or Africa. And play “shook ones” and then changes from 2pac. I love mobb deep but Tupac influence across the world when it comes to music is second only to bob Marley.

    14. So much hate from this man. This man needn a hug back in the day. A very contradicting rapper first political then gangsta. A clown and nothing more who is overrated.

    15. Some of the comments in his note were funny…. Pac was just an angry dude mad at the world for situations he put himself in.

    16. People need to stop worshiping Pac. Not one classic album, just classic cuts here and there. Tell me I’m wrong! Any rapper can draw out their E’s and rhyme enemy with hennessy. Rest in peace to the dead but I’ll keep bumping Biggie and Gang Starr #RealRap

      1. You have to be the dumbest human ever 2pac is better than any rapper biggie just a fat ass Jay Z, Nas and P. Diddy ain’t shit either

      2. Either you get it or you don’t and I feel sorry for people who can’t see the merits of Pac. 7 Day Theory is a muthafuckin classic if there ever was one, still bump it regularly from start to finish.

Oh, and don’t even bring Gang Starr in this discussion, they got some classic joints and Premo is one of the greats but Guru with his monotone style is one overrated boring ass rapper. Did his thing here and there but definitely not even close to the GOAT league.

      3. If he was so lame and had no classics why are you here and why does it piss you off in 2018 when he last recorded in 1996? SMH your emotional actions don’t tell the story that Pac’s music wasn’t up to par. I’m not even on the internet and talking about how lame I though PM dawn was, I don’t care. You still do care about something of Pac that is why you are here and commented.

    17. OLd head?….Stop it!

Me against the world? All eyez on muay?

Were u listening…Yall hatin on Pac but Pacs only crime was being a gemini lmao!!!! Think Kanye,Kodak…

    18. Some of you cats commentin is too slow and too young to know the truth about Pac and what really happened. Pac was a good brotha…. he was betrayed PERIOD and anyway thats a street cat knows the truth . noone could just come hang in the studio like that with all of them stars present. lol you take your goofa azz up to the studio when all the stars are there and see them dudes knew what going down and could of alerted Pac they showed where their loyalties were at HAITIAN JACK and JIMMY HENCHMAN and biggie was raised a Jehovahs witness he knew better. Pac did not bring nothing on his self. they were trying to make Pac check in like they do alot of cats in the industry today…… no fly zone and Pac was not honoring it and got touched up……. plus they was trying to give him short money for feature. the real truth …… there is a judas in every circle

        1. Tiki4, he’s talking about being pressured by Haitian Jack and Jimmy Henchman (aka the drug kingpins in NY using the music business as a front to launder money). They wanted Pac to be managed by Henchman, etc, when he resisted, they orchestrated the false rape in the hotel room in NY, and later planned the robbery/hit at the studio. At this time, Pac resided in Cali but would frequently come to NY. It wasn’t so much a no fly zone; however there was intimidation and pressure from some bad dudes in NY.

    19. When did Wendy Williams come in the picture no one ever talked about her. She wasn’t even out at that time. What the world is this.

      1. This is information only:

Wendy Williams started her career in radio in 1989. She is famously know for her work at Hot97, at that time known as the only place for Hip-Hop and R&B. She worked there from 1994 to 1998. She was most definitely was around for this. She criticized and spoke on Hip-Hop and R&B gossip, which is why she was the most hated. She brought in the most rating at the show, until she was fired and then went on to do radio in Philly. I believe she worked there until she started her show. Just a lil history lesson.

    20. As a fan of 2Pac I must say it was in very poor judgement releasing these liner notes. It makes him look ridiculous.

      1. It makes him look like a person that upset and hurt about being shot and your so called friends not standing with you

      1. They had a falling out over somethings Stretch said to him about the Quad City shootings. Pac was kind of quiet on the fallout

      2. Maaan the whole Holla at Me track has verses dedicated to Stretch betraying him. As well as Against All Odds. To that nlgga that was down for me, restin dead, switched sides guess his new friends wanted him dead, probably be murdered for the ish that I said..

    21. He cleared things up with Nas, before he passed. So this is a letter that got squashed. Nothing new here

    22. Are we still talking about this bullshit in 2018? Pac was a fake ass chameleon, and so are most of these rap acts. Gangsters never talk about the shit they done, or are going to do and incriminate themselves. A lot of labels were started with drug money which is the only reason why the feds investigated them. Get off the gas and stop worshipping these fucking clowns abd teach your kids about the real hood heroes. The activists, teachers, fireman, cops, and small business owners. Once again it’s 2018 and we are hanging onto the words of a fucking idiot. You all need to be ashamed of yourselves.

    23. Who really cares. Tupac is dead and as in life as in his death(he died broke. EVERYTHING was in Suge Knights name)
He was a piece of shit! May the worms feast on his body.
      Don’t RIP motherfucker!

    24. First off people sound soo corny naming off their top rappers, umm like Nas, Jay, BIG blah blah blah who cares who you like. Obviously if you were around back when Pac was out you knew the story. You knew he was an average MC but he had maaad charisma and kinda felt real to you cuz he talked about drinking and stuff that you were doing in High Schoo, so you could kinda relate. Honestly his production on his albums were wack. California Love was a Radio version beat of the better and more Classic EPMD jawn they dropped on their second album with K-Solo. At this time Dre was washed up with his best work behind him. Ughh. Sorry had to vent cuz these stans sound soo corny.

        1. Not long before, just by a year or two, but yes correct..and that Critical Beatdown album is top 3 ever recorded in regards to Hip Hop. Good call.

    25. People sure love bringing up OLD NEWS. The man been dead for 20 plus years. No telling what would have happened if he was alive today. He and Jay-Z prolly would be friends today nobody knows. All those people he had beefs with back then prolly would have been cool with each other today. WHO KNOWS…. but to bring up old letters to where he can’t defend himself today. WHAT THE POINT of this letter.

    26. Hey PAC, shit the fuck up and rest in power. Many many soldiers have passed on and we honor them as we do you…
Hip Hop is bigger than you. Your just a helmet on a stand if rifles now.

This is a money grab by the family member trying to live off your name again. If it wasn’t, then give it to the National Archives… they would take this for safe keeping.

      1. How about ain’t nobody in hip hop bigger than Tupac to this day, hour and minute. Telling lies ain’t gonna marginalize the man’s accomplishments. Your foolishness didn’t miss my scrutiny. You mad because Pac still the best.

        1. umm… no. but better luck next time playa. No one is bigger than Hip Hop. Please adjust your thoughts on the culture if this is where your path has taken you. Get back to what Hip Hop is and not what PAC was…

Hip is the knowledge Hop is the movement.

          peace goes out.

    27. “see who was watchin too many movies”? Lol more like who was actin in too many movies and believin their characters was real after the director said cut. Got his ass involved in some gangbang shit and got lit up for it, tryna be Birdie and Bishop. Stay in your lane civilians.

      1. You the kind of coward who’ll let a gang banger slap your mother and refuse to say anything because you scared of groups. May Baby Lane and his entire family rest in piss.
