Travis Scott may not have hosted his concert at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, but that hasn’t stopped his fans from throwing a party at the historic landmark in his honor.

In a video posted to Twitter on Friday (July 28) — which is when the original concert was supposed to take place — a group of fans can be seeing partying and dancing under the moonlight as they sing “Bystanders” from Scott’s Astroworld album.

On Wednesday (July 26), Live Nation announced that the Houston native’s show, which was set to take place at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, would no longer go ahead as planned. It was previously scheduled for July 28.

“We regret to inform you that the UTOPIA show, originally scheduled for July 28th at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt is cancelled,” Live Nation Middle East said in a statement. “Unfortunately, despite highest efforts, complex production issues meant that the show could not be constructed in the desert.”

The news came after the Egyptian General Syndicate for Musical Professions announced that the performance would no longer be happening due to safety concerns and Scott’s “culturally damaging” beliefs.

“Since the General Syndicate is part of the fabric of this beloved country it is keen on its stability and refuses to tamper with societal values and Egyptian and Arab customs,” the organization said in a statement.

“Based on research and documented information about strange rituals at Travis’s concerts that are inconsistent with our authentic societal values and traditions, the Board of Directors has decided to cancel the license issued to hold this type of concert that contradicts the cultural identity of the Egyptian people.”

That same day, however, Travis Scott tweeted that the previously-scheduled concert would still be happening in Egypt — once they figured out the logistics of the matter.
