Tracklisting Revealed For Ice Cube’s “I Am The West” Revealed

Due on September 28, Ice Cube‘s I Am The West will be the ninth studio solo album from the N.W.A. lyricist. Released on Cube’s own Lench Mob Recordings imprint, the controversially titled album is believed to contain 16 tracks, with appearances from longtime collaborator WC, and San Diego, California’s Jayo Felony. Additionally, Young Maylay will appear, who’s previously worked with Blaq Poet, MC Eiht and DJ Premier.

I Am The West is said to assert Cube and his peers’ place in west coast history, which has been commonly forgotten by artists and media frequently using the term “new west.” The album features a song, “No Country For Old Men,” sharing its name with an editorial written on HipHopDX about Cube’s self-affirmation. The album is the rapper-turned-actor’s first since 2008’s Raw Footage. (August 31)

      1. Yo cracker killa. You is a fake flake and weak to the bone. What a tuff guy talking down on a person like that. I ask the dude or as gay buddy next to you to hit you with a bottle on the head. But then again I guess you are not older then 6 years old and you hate your mother lol

    1. I’m definately interested in this album. I’m hoping that he gets some ol’ school westcoast production on here. Maybe Shock G or Dj muggs, Dj Quick etc. I’m pissed at Dre for not making the time to contribute, I guess he’s too busy making beats for drake and justin bieber and doing bullshit collabs with Jay-Z. Ice Cube’s a legond and I think he deserves the proper treatment in the industry and the way things are going, i think this will be better than detox

    2. @ Charles ExSaviour

Dat was a slick-line but not enuff 2 body any 1. The song that jayo felony did goin @ jigga called ‘true’d up’ was much more brutal. I didnt feel dat jigga’s one-liner response was a bit restrained, like he was nervous or suttin

    3. where the fuck is E A ski ….

damn i was waiting to listen to that e a ski track and now he doesn’t have one….

      ddaaamnn

      1. That’s what I’m talkin’ about.

People want to piss all over Dre not appearing on the album, but won’t say shit about EA Ski not being on the album.

        Dead the double standards, folks.

      1. yea, late 90’s you missed when cube was big.. cube was runnin shit in the late 80’s early 90’s.. not my favorite rapper, but he damn sure had a classic solo album, and was the driving force behind NWA in its early days… cube is mos def a hip-hop legend…

      2. He was and still is my favorite rapper along with his real-life cousin, Del the Funky Homosapien (who helped write Amerikkka’s Most Wanted).

You should definitely buy that A.M.W. album at least. It is now coupled and packaged with the follow-up EP, Kill At Will.

        Outty 5000, G
        Mike (Detroit)

      3. Ferguson very good question. Sounds like you’re doing your homework son! Even before Cube was in N.W.A., he was still reppin’ the West Coast and trying to help get West Coast hip-hop the notoriety it deserved. He was in a group before N.W.A. called C.I.A. and even then you can here the stories he had to tell. Between Amerikkka’s Most Wanted, Death Certificate, Kill at Will EP, and Lethal Injection, (about 1990-1994) you had to argue that Cube was one of the top 5 doin his thing on the West Coast. Great question. Anyone else have more to add?

      4. Ice Cubes first 4 solo albums are practically flawless albums start to finish, dudes one of the illest rappers on Earth with a catalogue to back it up mos def in my top 5…

    4. What about DJ Quik?

Damn no Dre, no E A Ski & no Quik damn and I was lookin forward to the album.

Oh & is that the DJ Montay who produced DJ Unk’s “2 Step”?

    5. i was listening to the album samples , this Shittt is FIYAAAAAAA! and about the quick and e a ski tracks(and dre) , i was waiting on those too but what can you do. album is fiya can’t wait , i be gettin this!

    6. Its better then gucci mane lol and waka flocka and oj da juiceman wtf even the name is better lol then those gay ass bricksquad names

    7. Remove that “she couldn’t make it on her own” n add another in the style of “I REP THAT WEST” would be my only advice based on what I’ve heard so far…When I saw that “she couldn’t make it” I was hopin it’d be more of a laid back “was a good day” vibe story track
