Tory Lanez is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence, and his father has now commented on recent rumors about him being let out.
On Wednesday (October 11), Sonstar Peterson took to Instagram Live soon to address a false report of his son leaving the confines of the correctional facility he has been posted in.

He began: “I just got some news from our attorneys that basically shared that apparently the news we got came from someone that they believe hacked into the second appellate court system and sent that news, but apparently their office is still yet waiting for the answer to come down, that somebody went ahead and jumped the gun or said whatever they said, but it did not come from the appellate court.
“I just spoke to you, in fact I just spoke to the whole world to declare my joy, my thanksgiving at the news that we received, and now we’re being told that it came from an anonymous source hacking into the system —imagine that — of the second appellate court in the state of California. So we don’t know if it’s a hacker, we don’t know if it’s somebody from the inside, but somebody got on their system and told this news.”
After discussing the incorrect news, he proceeded to talk about his relationship with God.
“It’s just really interesting to me the length to which people are going,” he said later in the stream. “So it says to me this is still spiritual warfare, there’s still a battle at foot. And I refuse to hang my head in shame because I know the God that I serve — I have known him and I have seen him do miracles from Africa to South America to North America to the islands of the sea.”
He continued: “I have seen God in my life and that’s why when I stand, I stand confident in him. God says he will never allow his children to be put to shame before their enemies, so I just wanted to let you all know that I got a call back and that’s what I was told.
“We’re still waiting, and those of you who are praying people and those of you who in fact, y’know, have that relationship with God — I just call upon you to stand with us because we refuse to take our faith off of what we believe.”

Last month, Lanez was officially sent to prison to serve his sentence, marking the conclusion of the Megan Thee Stallion shooting case. He was sentenced to 10 years behind bars by Judge David Herriford in August, which is three less than the prosecution were seeking.
He was facing a maximum of 22 years and eight months, as well as subsequent deportation to Canada (which will still be enforced once he’s released from prison).
