Tina Turner’s firstborn son has reportedly died by suicide.
According to USA Today, 59-year-old Craig Raymond Turner died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his home in Studio City, California on Tuesday (July 3). Law enforcement arrived at Craig’s home around noon local time and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
His mother is currently overseas in France attending Paris Fashion Week.
The music icon had Craig with saxophonist Raymond Hill when she was 18 years old. After she married Ike Turner, Ike officially adopted him.
Craig was a real estate agent in the San Fernando Valley area.
An autopsy is pending.
Tina’s music has been sampled by numerous Hip Hop artists over the years — from Fat Joe and The Notorious B.I.G. to Warren G and Brand Nubian.

People shouldn’t blame Ike Turner for Craig’s death. Tina said Craig was emotional kid in Oprah interview and there still hasn’t been a statement made by the family. Yet, Spin magazine 1985 Ike said Tina’s “kiss and tell” about their 20 year relationship was hurting and embarrassing their sons. He asked her to stop. But instead she wrote a tell all book in 1986, released a film in 1993 and now a 2018 London musical. They say she might include Craig suicide song. Not cool. Not Ike’s fault. RIP Craig and Ike.
