Eminem Releases Info On The Marshall Mathers LP 2 Deluxe Edition
This week, Eminem released the song titles and features slated for the deluxe version of The Marshall Mathers LP 2. The deluxe version includes two featured acts, Sia on “Beautiful Pain” and Jamie N Commons on “Desperation.” The other songs on the deluxe edition are slated to be “Baby,” “Groundhog Day” and “Wicked Ways.” Eminem released the collection’s tracklisting October 10.
Also this week, Eminem said that his forthcoming album is a “revisitation” of its predecessor, which was released in 2000. “Calling it The Marshall Mathers LP 2, obviously I knew that there might be certain expectations,” Eminem says in an upcoming article by Rolling Stone. “I wouldn’t want to call it that just for the sake of calling it that. I had to make sure that I had the right songs – and just when you think you got it, you listen and you’re like, ‘Fuck, man. I feel like it needs this or that,’ to paint the whole picture.”
Hopsin Disses Kanye West & Kendrick Lamar On “Hop Is Back”
Hopsin returned this week with “Hop Is Back,” a song that calls out two of Hip Hop’s most talked-about emcees. In the first single from Hopsin’s upcoming album, he expresses his thoughts on Kanye West and his sixth studio album, Yeezus, before offering up his opinion on fellow West Coast spitter Kendrick Lamar.
“I was ecstatic to buy Yeezus / But I burned it first / Heard it and snapped in five pieces / Man, Kanye on that bullshit,” Hopsin raps.
After he blasts West, the Funk Volume rapper turns his attention to Kendrick. “Cause Kendrick took the bar and raised it up higher for emcees,” Hopsin raps, “Unfortunately, the little nigga’s like 4’3” / The guys a fuckin’ midget / His high is still really short to me.”
Diddy Says Hip Hop’s Gotten “Too Soft”
Sean “Diddy” Combs says Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” verse was a “bold” move he loved every minute of.
During an interview with Los Angeles Radio station Power 106’s Big Boy’s Neighborhood show, Diddy, who initially expressed his excitement regarding Kendrick’s verse via Twitter, said that he wasn’t too impressed with some of the responses to “Control.”
“With the ‘king of New York’ line, I mean, it turned me up,” said Diddy. “I was just like, ‘Woah, yo. This cat is bold, man.’ And I was like, ‘I love every minute of it.’ You know, I Tweeted that I loved every minute of it. I was like ‘Yo, what are y’all cats gonna do now?’ A lot of y’all don’t take your time. Even if I get some of my rhymes co-written, I’m at least taking my time on what I’m saying. Certain cats, they don’t even take they time on what they saying. They’re not really into the details and into the importance of it. And I just think he put the game in perspective and he ignited a fire in the game that was needed.”
Diddy also said that today’s Hip Hop was “too soft” in regards to the quality of work being put out.
“That boldness is what Hip Hop is about,” said the Forbes Cash King. “Hip Hop done got a little bit too soft. You know what I’m saying? And it’s not even about beef. It’s about the quality of work. Some of the quality of work is just not up to par.”

lol so ironic how Diddy is the one to say hip-hop is soft. he is on point though, hip-hop has been soft for way too long. however, we must not disregard the positives. j.cole and kanye, although they were very different, made big jumps in hip-hop to change it up and allow it to progress. kendrick is reviving the competitive nature and his last album will probably be acclaimed as a classic in about 5 years. eminem brings back the lyricism that we’ve been missing with rap god and also revisits the old school pioneers with berzerk. joey badass and the whole beast coast movement is bring the east back on the hip hop scene. finally in a long time hip hop seems to be focused and progressing.
