The Beef is Official

State Property has done a remix of “Rock The Mic” that features Nelly (amongst others) and he has chosen this song to respond to KRS-One. Here is what he had to say: “I play when I wanna/nut check gut check cause I say what I wanna/I struck a nerve in old emcees wanting to come back/I got respect but he’s lost and that’s that/Like K no one even said your name, R you really feelin guilty about somethin’ man, S sad to see you really did want this, One, more hit please please, you the first old man that should get a rappers pension.”

I’m curious, with albums in 87, 88, 89, 90, 91, 92, 93, 95, 97, 2000, 2001, and 2002, where does the comeback come in? Not to mention, taking shots at old rappers means that he is also dissing the likes of Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap, Dr Dre, Ice Cube, Too $hort etc, I don’t think he wants that. It should be noted that State Property has said they have nothing to do with this, but a Roc-A-Fella spokesperson has said that they feel the same as Nelly. I’m sure we will here something from KRS-One soon, whether it is on wax or a statement on the Internet.
